Do you think it was effective?
as somone who loves swords and actualy trains in their use
i would think that this would just make a sword want to fly out of your hand at every swing
i would have loved to hear your final thoughts on it after the testing
to my eye it looked incredibly unwieldy despite definitely cutting through every target it looked like it would tire you out much faster than a regular sword
was it effective. looked to be. :) did it look fun to use. not in the slightest
Definitely impactful. Wouldn't wanna b hit w it
@drecknathmagladery9118 ( i'm at 4:47 )I am of the same mind but having seen what this guy can do I think it he will find a way to make it work this man has made shit that has no right to function but they fucking do
Only question is how did the internal bearings affect the handling of the sword? Thought in might be a bit heavier and off balance with wood used from the guard back to pommel. Pommel was gorgeous. Thanks brother!
I feel like if you instead of having the spine of the blade be just a single tube, and had a bunch of little chambers instead, all the shot wouldn't go all to the tip, which would both improve the 'deadblow' performance and make it less unwieldy.
Tonight I watched a strange little goblin man craft a mystic blade.
Love this comment lol
Kanye to Kim: "Ay, b*tch. Tell me again how you not a hobbit? You gotta tell me if you's a hobbit. Ok but how bout that time you was telling you and your friends went on a quest to slay the dragon?"
xD
This is the first one of your videos I have seen..... you're not a well man, don't ever change.
Wicked im glad you enjoyed it, i have more videos lined up
The day you watch one of his videos and he DOESN'T caress or lick multiple things in the video, you know something is seriously wrong.
I am frankly uncomfortable with how much you enjoy your work.. but I can't deny that it's very nice work.
My thoughts exactly
Came for the awesome build, subbed for the weirdness and sexual innuendos 🤣
Yeah i didn't see that coming 🙂
If there is ever an apocalypse, I'll be doing my darndest to find this man and be his friend. You are a creative madman, and I love watching you work. Very well done!
I saw a fuzzy little man do obscene things with metal and now I know what I'll be doing at work for the next week while the boss is on vacation
Reminds me of swords in ancient India that had metal balls in the center of the blade that would roll forward when the blade was swung to add extra force to the blow.
Every build, you drill or mill a hole big enough to finger bang. And then it becomes a glorious weapon.
And that's why we come here. Thanks for the videos brother
"yOu WoNt GeT bEtTeR aT wElDiNg SoOn HuH???????" Fombs Op!
YOU'RE an unstoppable deadblow!
You've figured out the secret to Thor's hammer, mate... it was hollow and filled with lead shot... so I reckon you can strap that stabby-slashy to your wrist, swing it as hard as you can, and then you will fly.
I accept no legal liability for damages caused by attempts to fly and bear no responsibility for the stupidity of any of my words or thoughts.
It might work...
It also might rip yer arm off, but you'd get a good second of airtime for sure

I'm honestly speechless on this one. I admittedly had my doubts about how a deadblow system would work in a sword, but damn........ And it's gorgeous?!?!?! Another winner!!
I like the Oblivion faces you made when putting the helmet on
Onur,
That sword turned out amazing as hell! I bet the energy transfer from the shot inside the blade is incredible. It even looks very pleasing on the eyes. Thank you for taking time to build, film, edit and post this video.
I skipped to the end, then had to go back and watch it... Fuck the lead, it's all in the wrist...
I think we can all agree. That works just fine. Blackening the blade was a good idea Onur. It gives it a moody, tactical vibe. Lovely bit of work, mate. 👌🏻
The rub and stroke at 16:47 made my inner 12 yr old giggle.
If you use a TIG torch, you could do a wash pass over the MIG (no filler wire, just melting and smoothing) instead of massive grinding.
My friends and I started watching your channel since the beginning, all by himself, without knowing that we actually follow the same guy. At some point someone mentioned your work but we didn't know the exact name of the channel. You've been 'wierd weapon maker' at first, then 'kinky talented guy from yt, who makes strange weapons', even ' that cute Deadpool's pervy buddy' etc. But after a while you got an unanimous nick, 'The official apocalypse weaponsmith grandmaster', or shorter 'The Weaponmaster'! Btw. me and my colleagues are a bunch of crazies as well, sculptors and professional designers, who use a huge abandoned nuclear fallout as a common workshop-studio. And the next common thing we have besides the workshop - we all greatly admire your work sir! If the apocalypse comes, there is no doubt that one of our first missions would be to find you and try to persuade you to work with us, mr. Weaponmaster. Your consent would truly mean a spark of hope both for us and for the rest of human kind! Cheers mate😊🍻
I got flashbacks from my first metal-fab job. I used to (many years ago) grind down other peoples welds at a place that fabricated commercial stars and railings. Seeing you grinding on those big welds connecting the SHAFT to the blade really brought me back lol. Cool build as usual bub, love you!
I feel this is exactly how a goblin blacksmith acts like.
This man deserves so much more recognition than he gets! I wish I was a million people so I could get you more attention!
WOOOOOOWWWW....you are a MAD MAN and don't ever stop being one !!!
Sick. And so is the blade. Please don't change... EVER!
The man makes amazing toys.
Man, you're a menace xD in a good way though, cracks me up haha. Cool idea and build too!
The most entertaining video I’ve seen in years!
Well done mate.
Australia
All the most talented artists are a little weird. And we like it that way.
As someone who does HEMA and is very interested in weaponsmithing... this is _fascinating_ and I have no idea how weird that would feel. I kinda think it would not have great handling for actual fencing, though. If you start from a point-up stance, the balance will be in the hilt and that's good for starting swings, and the balance going to the tip during the power part of the swing means more power... but then it's still in the tip when you want to quickly stop it. That loss of agility any fencers would see as a great time to slip past and stab the user, which many would consider a "bad thing."
That being said, the overall construction looks beautiful!
Yeah, my first thought when I saw the title was "basically making a smaller Terminus Est, executioner's sword of Severian the Torturer?"
The biggest difference being that Terminus Est used a tube full of mercury instead of shot.
That's legitimately one of the nicest short swords I've seen online. The handle in particular is lovely!
😂😂 I love the humor
The dwarven blacksmith in my last D&D session wasn't this mad... But I'm now subscribed!
Dude! You're insane! Great work!
This is the first video of yours I've ever. It was....an experience
Incredible work as always. The sword looks beautiful 😍😍
Sir I really do enjoy the dead blow sword and how it works. I’ve imagined a weapon like this, but with padlocks that shift their weight around as the sword swings, dumping more force on impact. I’m happy you’ve shown this same feature can be accomplished with ball bearings in the weapon. If at all possible, do you think you could do a deadblow metal bat and great sword? I have a strong feeling the deadblow weight shift would go perfectly with those! The great sword especially works with this as the weight would start at the pommel, which would keep the blade upward, but once it goes down, weight shifts to the tip!
Bro put a lot of effort in for a meme sword. Aint hatin.
Are you planning to loan the sword to some "SWORD GUYS" to test it's effectiveness ????
YEAH...I wonder if it would survive a "forged in fire" stress/sharpness/KEAL test...
@haydenc2742 Doug would probably manage to turn his wrist over so far in the swing that he'd hit with the flat and break something and they'd blame the sword like always.
Subscription earned sir.
I enjoy the cut of your jib
That was a interesting build works well and looks good 👍
I think this is my favorite build to date!
Excellent work
Again amaaaaazing work my man❤❤
fine craftsmanship
When they say " made with love", this is actually what they mean
Something like the dead blow sword instead of putting sand or gravel in it drilling very very small holes down the tube in hooking the handle up to a propane tank with the valve so you can make a flaming sword
My man living his best life

Onur, I had forgotten about this build. This turned out much better than I expected. Never expected the wooden guard would turn out as beautiful with the brass glued to it. Brilliant creation of an excellent weapon. Absolutely crack up with your "sexual innuendos" humor. You've caused more spilling of my coffee than I can begin to count while laughing. Truly appreciate your dedication to those details, which result in a piece of art. Again, thank you for making my TH-cam experience a brilliant one. Cheers Mate 🍻 for a well crafted sword. All the best to you and your family 🍻💪☮️
TH-cam recommendations: Here watch this crafty guy with a taste for innuendos
Me: Okay! 👍🗿
Now this is my kind of asmr 👍
Thank you
This was one of your best ideas. If the handle was more robust I bet it'd be a lot of fun splitting up firewood with it
Magnificent blade both in looks and effectiveness. Well done as usual. Your skills are very impressive. Stay safe and look after family.
Yes, people, most of us are aware this is not a real weapon. That in no way cheapens the art ,time and effort that went in it. I think she's beautiful and it was fascinating watching the build
Thanks for the video.
The idea is very cool. I don't know whether a dead blow sword would really work better, but the idea is awesome. The final product looked great.
...uh..huh. this is definitely one of the sword making videos of all time.
Nice looking blade. I used to have a bat like that and it always hit home runs .
awesome handle there.
The reason he didn't weld it in one bead was to reduce the chance of warping, heat does funny things to metal.
Turned out great 👍
Nicely done my brother.
I'd be interested in seeing some of the HEMA TH-camrs (ScholaGladiatoria, Shadiversity, Skallagrim) try that sword out.
Back in the early '90s one of my characters in a tabletop RPG had a deadblow sword made for him by gnome bladesmiths, but instead of shot it used liquid metal inside.
As an aside, and oval handle would be better than a round one. Better indexing to the edge when using it.
ay, blade alignment is key
Brilliant !!!
I so gotta know how this will hold up to a solid sword!!!
I don’t know, it’s an entertainment video and i rarely get into sword fights between shoots
Love it, wonder how the shot feels as it moves. Just a thought for future directionally accentuated tools making the handle more oval. Does the dead blow pass less shock through the handle?
Perfectly circular handles make it harder to get proper edge alignment. That's the real reason handles have an oval shape.
that works and looks cool
This is cool as hell! I will ask, when it comes to handle, would you rather want a mor oval shape for edge alignment while in use?
Have you ever tried to make a barbwire whip? I did once and it was wicked!
i love your humor. i wont lie there are some bits that are a tiny bit much but overall your a comedic genius
your craftsmanship while definitly not the prettiest is done well. and to be honest im a fan of the orc mentality. it doesnt need to be pretty it just needs to be effective and comfortable to use.
Never too much, love the odd humour...
Wow, effective and cool
I'm just here for the gluing montage
Excellent work as usual. Would love to see a collab between you and michaelcthulu I feel like between both of your guys skill with metal and your sense of humor itd be a hell of a vid
Supposedly King Solomon's sword had a channel inside the blade filled with mercury.
Need to collaborate with the Slo-Mo Guys and see just how much extra power is imparted with the dead-blow mech
Looks amazing. Looks like one to keep for yourself, or is it for sale
I used to need medication too. But im much better now.
My instinct was to look away from the welding at 7:04, lol
😮at long last we have the origin story of Salad Fingers! *subscribed*
I weld in flip-flops. Give that a whirl sometime.
What was that paint you put on the blade before heat treated? An alternative to wrapping in foil?
Can you please make a viking wood splitting sword 🙏?
It’s the mask from the original Hercules cartoon
Nice dam job !!🇺🇸🇺🇸🪓🔪👍👍
this is oddly similar to the mercurial swords from older D&D edditions... though in those instead of shot they are filled with a volume of mercury.
Very nice toothpick.
Bro you are funny and a great builder. Keep up with your great work and videos.
Thank you, definitely got lots more to come
As a blacksmith who, by my own admission is a bit weird, I approve
Deadpool was right that was pretty cool
Nice sword. 😏👍 its a real beast.
You are an f’ing crazy nut! Hahaha. Tongues and metal work don’t really mix but…you did it anyways. Love the sword and the commentary.
your the best!!
Subscribing just from the name.
The topic and comedy is great.
☕🐝🇺🇸
So what exactly does the lead in the handle do...allows you to smack stuff harder? Will that blade hold up...I mean...end of the world zombies trying to eat your face kinda blade?
honestly...I have no idea how to make a sword...was just wanting to know if that helps?
WHY IS THE HANDLE ROUND!
Have you thought about making a temporary kiln door with a hole in it to allow longer items? gaps can be filled with thermal blanket. I know it wont heat treat the bit sticking out but it would have allowed the core tube to be a grip without joins
Step aside all you normal professional metal workers, weird man is here
Before watching all of it, I feel this will be great for thrusting, going off of how the tube runs with the blade, but I don't think the dead blow aspect helps with cutting
I need an adult…
Really cool up until the demonstration. I thought you were going to go through that table. I can chop fruit with a harbor freight machete
If that had a yard long blade, a square rather than pointed tip and used mercury rather than lead shot, it would be a good real world equivilant of Terminus Est, the sword used by the main character of Gene Wolfe's 'The Book of the New Sun' series.
Always a fascinating concept, I'd love to hear what a HEMA practitioner thought of it. Probably come to the conclusion that about the only things it's good for is a single downward blow, which is reasonable, Terminus Est is the sword of an executioner rather than a warrior.
