Hey Jack! Victor Herringer was a great writer, and besides "The love of singular men" he won the Jabuti prize for writing the book "Glory". Now, you see, the Jabuti prize is huge for us brazilian literature lovers. I'd love if you keep in touch with our culture and writing, and maybe make a video about it. I know you've read Clarice Lispector, but you must get to know other names! Machado de Assis, Jorge Amado (a personal favourite of mine), Lélia Gonzalez, Conceição Evaristo!! I’m just finishing it now and it’s my favourite book I’ve read this year, even (just slightly) above Blue Sisters. It’s a trans coming of age story jumping between 1984 and 2019. An intense book about grief and finding oneself, with a chapter named after a flower and its meaning that intertwines into that particular chapter itself. Could you please make a video discussing ARC requests and the mindset of the community this involves? I'm asking because I just read an advance review on Goodreads about Intermezzo, and the user said "If you haven't read this book yet, what are you even doing with your life?" but the book is literarily not available for another month. So not only is it a dumb question, but it's also very likely plain old boot-licking to the author/publisher. It just strikes me as odd, because why would someone contributing to the conversation in such ways be an ARC recipient? Thank you.
