All the color choices are so beautiful. The risk in the bathroom was totallly worth it turned out so stunning ( I did the same thing in my bathroom but with a dark lavender color and golden stars I painted all over the walls)

I always think of this part whenever I'm on the phone with my mom and my dog hears her voice and is confused by my telling her it's mama. "My mom's not a phone! DUH!!" 🤣🤣
90's kids will always know that
I heard that having a darker bedroom actually helps with sleep. The darker colour affects our circadian rhythm and can be really beneficial for falling asleep. I would actually paint all of the walls to optimize this 😊
genuinely love the way you unknowingly "spoiled" the bedroom colour with your outfit choice
I hate white walls and furniture (it's a sickness, for real lol). So, for my house, I knew I wanted all the ceilings to be painted like the walls. Every single person looked at me like I was just a tad insane LOL And I made it even better by choosing a dark color for my bedroom (actually something in the same realm as you! great minds think alike, they say) and, once again, painting the ceiling the same color. I got told a million times that it'd be dark and feel small. The room has more than enough space, and you can still fit the exact same furniture, so for me it only makes it cozier, not smaller in any way. And I will forever die on this hill hahaha So I love your idea for the bathroom! I think it was the right call for such a white, honestly kinda lifeless space. And I basically did the exact same thing as you and ended up choosing lighter colors than I originally planned in quite a few rooms. Honestly, I regretted it haha I was scared everything would be too dark and now I wish the colors were stronger and had more presence. But it's just paint, so you can always repaint in the future.

Just found your stream and enjoyed it. Good advice about painting, choosing colours. For the bathroom you are totally right about colour of the lights. And you can change that by choosing warmer or cooler light bulbs! The colour is listed and identified by degrees Kelvin, and the higher the number, the "cooler", bluer the light is. Also, this could be listed as Warm White, Daylight, or Cool White. Your new place looks lovely! Enjoy!

The colours look great! Don't forget it's currently the brightest time of year, in winter the colours will look darker. And curtains will also make things look darker.
Living in America it's a wild concept that you can paint your apartment. If I was to do that in any of the places I've lived I would be heavily fined. Love the aesthetic!

As a german, I agree. You wouldn't be fined here, but you'd have to get it back into its original state when moving out, and (in this case) had to try to cover up oxblood with white paint or completely redo the wallpaper, which is quite the hassle. 😅

@@gregorylucas3954 I think I'd personally only consider accent walls if I know that I'll stay in the apartment for at least three years (if at all). I also have to admit that my parents always tell me that white walls are superior (because you can have colourful things in the room, without clashing with wall colour) and that coloured walls are bad, colourful wallpaper is bad, and painted ceilings are an absolute nightmare. 🥲So I'm slightly biased...

Another tip for the paint swatches, I highly recommend painting swatches on multiple areas in the room, doing at least 2 coats (cause that’s how you’ll paint it on the walls once you’ve chosen) and then live with it for at least a week. That way you see it in multiple different kinds of light multiple times. Don’t rush choosing paint colors!

that first mirror with the lady on it is SO GORGEOUS! also, I think you chose amazing wall colors despite saying they could've been darker - that happens a lot but the walls look so great! I especially love the green colors but they all fit your vibe so well! I wish I could paint my walls with my friends too, it would be such a fun activity but unfortunately I'm victim to the "you can't paint your walls in this rental apartment" curse

Oooh, I love the colours you chose! If the bedroom ends up feeling too small, you could always add a mirror. My friend has this huge vintage mirror (in landscape format) on a dark green wall, and it looks stunning!
Moving is so hard, love your use of colours in this grey world XD
a tip about painting and taping off certain parts. To get super crisp lines, paint over the tape with the other colour first. That way, any colour bleeding will be blocked by the other colour and the line will be super sharp.

I think not going toooo dark might have been a good idea. :) It is summer now, I think the colours will look much darker in winter when there is less natural light and it is rainy or snowing outside.

ETA: Oh also, love the paint color choices! I think I'll look into painting some more of my walls.
If you can I'd change the bathroom fixtures to gold 👀 or black. it's not so expensive but can make a hell of a difference!

I can’t wait to see how you decorate your house, it’s definitely going to inspire me to add more to my own hehe. I have a dark cool tone green in my living room and with dark wood furniture it’s beautiful. I would say for your bathroom switch out to gold hardware because gold compliments green so much, and some fake plants?! that would be beautiful (i say fake plants cuz i’m not sure if your bathroom has windows)
Also maybe some lamps in your bathroom for some mood lighting

try out a different color light bulb ( daylight, blueish light, warm light, etc) in your bathroom if you're not happy with how the green turned out, its a cheap and easy fix that might help!

As someone who just moved two weeks ago, the part where you said that you have to pack gave me goosebumps. Best of luck and patience. And definitely write the content of the boxes on the boxes, otherwise you'll live two weeks without half of your underwear.

Loved the video and following along to you decorating your new space. When colours dry they do tend to go a touch brighter mostly. I wondered if it wouldn't have been an option to have colours mixed? Like when you coulnd't decide between three - why not mix them all together? :D I think the green in the bathroom works really well!😍
Also be very careful when moving in not to touch the fresh painted wall so much with your hands or scratch them with anything. I had a a beautiful dark red wall as well once and you could see fat stains from hands very easily and it scratched quickly as well 😅

All the colours are so beautiful, my favourites are the matta latte (the name fits PERFECT) and the accent wall, love me some accent walls😍My dream is also painting my future bathroom walls, maybe put up wall paper, my vision is a little lighter and maybe more pastel than your colour choices, but thats so great about us, we are all so different🥰 I don`t know how many layers you painted, if you only painted one layer, try another one, but I am sure you did at least 2 layers😅

I also went decidedly anti-beige/millennial grey (I AM a millennial) in my house! I've got everything from dark blue to purple on my walls, and I love it :) Also, the exterior of my house is yellow. Here in Australia, there is an absolute mania for flipping houses and painting them really depressing colours. I'm so over it. And actually just in the last few months I have definitely noticed more colours (albeit tentative!) coming back, which is a relief. All the very best as you continue to settle in :) xox
