    Just doing my obligatory "watch reviews of the knife you just bought while it's in the mail"

    • @jacobatkins6978
      @jacobatkins6978 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      🤣 this is awesome cause I think I’ve done that with every knife I’ve ever bought! But ironically I’m interested in getting this. If I do get this I’ll watch 5-10 videos on it. 🤣

    • @yankee2yankee216
      @yankee2yankee216 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do that too! Who doesn’t? I have learned that buying on impulse is about as good, and as much fun, as careful consideration! I HAVE, once or twice, regretted my impulsiveness…

    Today is my day of thanks. There is not one knife in my collection that I’ve bought that I’ve not bounced off of your videos or slicey diceys. I appreciate your knowledge on the blade. When your dropping some CHANGE on a knife I want to know what I’m buying. I’m a shy stay at home dad but I feel it’s important to give thanks and credit where it counts. Thanks.

    Used my xm-18 to pry open a microwave door yesterday. Worked like a charm. I like the stuff built for harder use.

    Great review! A little hint to stay strong on the pivot, without scratching at all? Use a heavy gauge guitar pick. Its perfect! Keep em coming!

    Just got my first Eklipse. Holy cow it’s a nice knife. The ergos and action are phenomenal. I think I like it more than the XM-18…which feels weird to write since I love the XM-18 so much.

    In the past, whenever a Hinderer came up in a video I used to dismiss it out of hand without rhyme or reason but, as my taste evolves I have to say that the eklipse has that `gateway drug‘ appeal to it that inevitably has to be looked into. I’m definitely going to have to save my pennies and invest in one (or two or three 😄) for the collection. Thanks for the video 👍

    You have completely changed the way I look at Hinderer's. My first knife was a Kershaw Cryo and it kinda ruined the Hinderer experience for me and then hearing the stories about them not being able to flip really made me stay away till I started watching you. Now I'm already looking for my second XM-18!

  • @theofficialobama5434

    That's cool that they come with extra washers. I guess that makes sense for the chunk of change you spend on a hinderer.

  • @yankee2yankee216
    @yankee2yankee216 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like the Eklipse. I like knives that can be described as “extremely comfortable!” I have a Jurassic, which is similar, but broader (what I describe as a “humpback” shape), making it even easier to grip in a man’s hand. I also have an XM-18 3.0, which I like very much, but not because of its action (which is slow) or blade (a reverse tanto “Skinner”), but the fact that it is a perfect Hinderer, with the milled face-scale, in a relatively tiny package. I am coming to like Hinderers quite a lot. I might have to get another…

    I love my XM-18 but I think I like the Eklipse even better. The non-flipper version of the Eklipse is the best imo.

    4” is my personal standard, 3.875 i think is where i draw the line. Although i found the xm24 extremely attractive, the finger choil was a turn off for me. I’ve been hoping knife influencers convince makers to make larger knives. I live in California and exercise my right to carry a larger blade. I edc a cold steel recon 1 spear point s35vn. Eklipse with a four inch blade, in the words of Dirty Harry make my day.

    The Eklipse seems like a larger Jurassic. Maybe a comparison in the future? Thanks for the review!

    I just want you to know that I cut my thumb open while watching this video. As far as things to do while watching knife videos goes, that's just the circle of life.

  • @yankee2yankee216
    @yankee2yankee216 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Jurassic also uses T6 screws, and that is the most recent (Tri-Way) version! These are (relatively) big, hard-use knives. Why can’t they have big, hard-use screws?

  • @ryanjennings6541
    @ryanjennings6541 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    My front site adjustment tool for the ar-15 fits the back pivot on my xm18 3.5 and 3.0 that's what I been using. Some of my site adjustment tools have 4 prongs. So I just bent two of them out you only need two prongs to adjust you site anyway. Thought xm18 was a more tactical knife because of that lol ...

    I've been debating on an XM-18 (3.5") or XM-24, and even Eklipse for a while now. If the Eklipse came out with the fullered spear I probably get that. A new blade profile even better. Good review, 👍

    Why is it that the halftrack is so highly reviewed, but popularity as an EDC doesn’t seem to follow? I find it to be way more practical than a XM-18 for daily use.

      They're expensive but they really are great knives. I own two so obviously I think they are worth it. After getting my first Hinderer I never carried another ZT again. In fact, I'm selling both of my ZT's. The hardware is such an improvement over the cheap ZT hardware that was probably bought in bulk from China.
