I found this video very helpful when measuring for my net curtains. Made me feel confident I had measured correctly for what I needed before placing my order.
My Mum always told me to buy a width and a half or double width. So if you window width is 50cm... buy 75cm or 100cm otherwise you will have no gathers, cutting down on privacy and aesthetics.
