The best review out there, no overly cheerful girl who's talking 5 minutes about the product and 15 min about herself. Thank you, now I'm definitely going to purchase this trough your link :)
I just bought the Tria and have been zapping away for the past few days. Didn't see your video when I was looking for reviews, but it's so nice to see it has your stamp of approval! Really trust your opinion.
Your channel is a bible of knowledge and honest reviews without the waffle.. watching this in 2019 because you’re the only person I trust to give me the info I need, as soon as I saw you reviewed ipl I had to watch. Thanks Nadine, think you’ve convinced me to give the new Philips machine a whirl 💕
The tria 4x definitely works, I have it. I’ve only used it about 3x and have got big bald patches of hair in the places I am using it (armpits and bikini) I have dark hair and light skin. I’ve never tried the Philips lumea but if anyone is thinking of buying an at home laser I’d recommend the tria as it’s marketed as permanent whereas the lumea isn’t (I’m pretty sure anyway) I got my tria for only £200 on sale. I use it on level 5 and it effin hurts but I use numbing cream about an hour before as it’s the only way I can bear to do it. That helps so much with the pain because I couldn’t handle it before but with numbing cream can hardly feel it and you can really take the time to do it properly when it doesn’t hurt. I’m excited to see how many hair follicles I can eventually kill for good 👿 coz i wasn’t expecting to see noticeable results this fast. It’s definitely worth the money and so much more convenient than going to laser clinics that just rip you off.
G You’re totally right. The Tria is permanent because it’s a different type of laser. The Phillips Lumea is an IPL leaser perfectly fine and effective for some but not for me. After some time you will get hair growing back and it’s not permanent with this IPL technique. And yeah the Tria does take a little more time on larger body parts but it’s worth it.
@@busraelbek651 tria is not permanent either. The hair will stay away longer but not for always. Philips lumea prestige promises 6 months or more hair free time after using it for some time. The philips lumea is MUCH faster than the Tria, and also very important: Philips Lumea can be used more than 15 years!! Tria only 1-3+ years.
I've been plagued by hair on my legs, and I repeat shaving every day.One month ago my friend recommended me to buy this style,I've been using it for three weeks now. I'm totally in love CNV with it because I don't have to shave every day anymore. The new hair is rarely very thin, which is better than expected. So I will continue to use it until I have smooth, hairless skin.
Nadine this is why I LOVE your channel - clear explanation about the difference between IPL and laser, and the pros/cons of each. LOVE LOVE LOVE the Braun Lumea!! (I'm not being paid to say this) I got mine on offer from Boots also. Kudos Nadine for linking to this offer. BUT I've previously had Laser Hair removal at a clinic, and that removed about 90% of my hair after 6 treatments. Not the same with the Lumea, which needs repeated treatments and applications. (And I know you said that don't use the Lumea above your eye-level, but I've used it on my forehead for those weird baby hairs. And also - sorry for the TMI - for the dark hair on my nose lol) but your right about pressure points, but the new Lumea comes with a smaller Nozzle for sensitive areas and which overcomes the pressure point issues.
I am definitely going to the salon to get permanent laser facial hair removal without getting treatments done in the future, so my hair follicles wouldn't have to grow back. I am going to exfoliate my face by putting on the peel off mask, deep scrubbing and applying the toner and moisturiser to hydrate my skin. That's to make my face look flawless when I put the powdered mineral foundation on without having dead skin cells, so it sits right.
Thanks Nadine! I have always wondered if these things really work and I can count on you to be informative about things I don't hear about anywhere else! Bravo!
What a great video. Made me subscribe to your channel. You get right to the point, which I love! I bought a Tria some years ago ($400.00 US) and discontinued use after a while on my face. Put it away in a drawer. Now I'm going to dig it out and put it to work again (if it's able to recharge). I think I quit using it, simply because it hurt a lot on my face, BUT I did notice much less growth, so it does work. I bought an IPL with a much larger window, 500,000 pulses for only $135.00US on Amazon and it seems to be working pretty well.
When you use the Tria, if you have a sensitive area, like for me it's underarms and around my knees, you can press it into your skin in that area when you do it so it won't be as painful.
They do work, I used a rio laser a few years ago, I used to sit and watch my favourite programme while I did a session. I do not have any under arm hair now, it was no bother at all. I would highly recommend DIY laser hair removal😊
Just a note on the tria....do not use your finger to unlock the sensor at the bottom...instead place the sensor on the skin you want to treat and it will unlock it of it is safe to use on that area..xo
Great to see this review as I have asked you before about this🙈 but my concern is that my dark hair is growing from my eyebrows right down to my face. My face is the biggest concern right now, as I have been using creams to get rid of it. But I would dearly love to get rid of all this dark hair. It’s the Tria for the face and the Phillips for the body.... thank goodness Christmas is coming xx
I love all your super informative and very articulate beauty videos but I'm especially appreciative of the ones that are on the topics of lasers and other professional level technology services. I'm a new subscriber here so if you've done a video on professional chemical peels, please let me know. Thanks so much
Great videos Nadine. I feel like you're actually dealing with real beauty issues. My Lumea arrived on Friday and although I've used it I was still wondering if it will help me. Your video has just reassured me. Thank you. I also suffer from bad keratosis Pilaris so the one you made on that is such a great help too. Your my new favourite TH-camr.
Hi Nadine, I was wondering if you've used this machine on your bikini? I've waxed for quite some time and so my hair is more sparse now, but still black and annoying. Most importantly I can never manage to shave without getting some weird red bumps or lovely ingrown hair (very much prone), so my question is how well did it work for you if you've used it. Because I'm thinking of going to a salon to get it done or if I should just buy of these machines and do it home. I use epilator underarms and legs so I'm not worried about that.
so this is a long shot. I hope you can answer this. I believe anything you say basically ;) I have an IPL hair removal gadget at home. Can I use it on sun spots? They recommend you don't, but I seriously can't see the reason why... Thanks Nadine. Love your channel!
Can anyone attest to whether these devices would remove facial thread/spider veins? Ive had ipl sessions in a clinic and it seems to me that the function is the same?
Is it at all dangerous? I’m concerned about damage or side effects... also have many treatments does it typically take? Your video was so informative and fantastic! Thank you! Just subscribed! 😄
Question please, so if I have a dark hair on the neck for instance, I clipper it and zap it, is the hair going to still be there can I pluck it out after a while, concerned that the dark hair will still be seen?
Lovely Video and review. I chose your review because we have similar complexion. I think you are maybe a little bit darker. Anyhow, just wanted to say cheers, and thanks. I think I'm going for the Tria. I'm going to have to check out your other videos as well.
Hello! I just subscribed because I found this video researching on comments about home ipl or laser treatment. I bought the philips lumea today.. But I havent used it yet. I just saw a comment on a kind of manual that said IPL is not a permanent solution for hair grown, that it needs continuous use. And also I read in the manual that it CANNOT be used anywhere near the breast, or nipples, and anywhere near or over silicone implants. I have implants and now IM Scared to use it. Thinking of returning it. I thought that these forms or depilation were safe for implants, I searched for it!! But maybe just this philips lumea ipl is not safe :/ What do you think? Also I want a permanent solution. It is way too expensive to be just like a “while using it improvement and when it stops working, hair will come back like before?
What about that ultra sensitive area just below the nostrils, as hairs are incredibly painful to tweeze from there?. Is your machine as painful in that specific area please Nadine? Since my major total hysterectomy 4 years ago, I am getting the tweezers out on my face every day (sometimes twice lately).
Yep you saw me flinch but it's worth it in the long term. For me the most painful areas are under the nose and the very undercarriage of my bikini line 😁
Lumea doesn’t work on dark skin which would be skin type 5 & 6. I am Indian with skin type 2-3 and dark hair so works great on me. My sister is skin type 4-5. Doesn’t work on her
Any idea what is the best home laser hair removal for 2019? Why are some $300 and some only $69? What is the cost variance attributed to? Thanks in advance:)
Hi Nadine, I just came to your channel on Pixiwoo's recommendation. I have been looking at IPL for my hormone related black chin hair. I have to wax every week. Do you know whether this would be effective? I had IPL in a salon around 15 or so years ago which had some effect, but not long term. Thanks.
Kate Perry my friend tried the professional ipl on hormonal hair on the chin. it didn't work. only afterwards did they tell her it can't work until the hormones are settled down..
Hello Nadine, thank you for a great review! I bought the Philips Lumea Prestige and I just read in the instruction book that studies shows that using the device on your face and if you are from Asia and Middle East you can experience an increase of hair growth. Is that true do you think? I'd like to see that study, but I have not emailed Philips yet.
c orref no they can't BUT salon machines can and work brilliantly on Rosacea x I did a video with my sister about how she cured her rosacea xxxx it's on this channel ♥️
Hi. Thank you for your very informative video. I have bought Sanitas IPL 200 from Lidl for £69.99. It is considerably cheaper then the ones you are reviewing. I have tried it today and will see the results in a week hopefully. Do you think it will work?
Hi. Nadine. I bleech the hair on my chin. They are black and long. I am turning 14 this year. My classmates bullies me about my facial hair. I can't even talk to people bc of my chin hair. Please help me. Can I use this Tria on my face? My skin tone is like light brown on yellow side.
So I'm not fair skinned but I am white with thick black hair. I hear that's the best type for this. Your blond so I hear this doesn't work well if at all for you but did you get any benefit? Because I have a lot of area like shoulders uhgg it's horrible I hate it! But I don't have 5k or 10k for a professional place
Hi Nadine, Thanks for this video. I have loads of dark peach fuzz on one side of my face which I am desperate to get rid of. I am really pale and I do suffer from hormonal pigmentation so I have avoided IPL to help with the peach fuzz in case it triggers the pigmentation. Have you or any of your friends had the side effect of pigmentation while using these devices? Thank you in advance Fiona xx
Fortunately at the moment my pigmentation is pretty much under control with a strict skincare regime and loads of spf every day!!!!!! I have got a tiny bit on my jaw line, but I can't get it to photograph, sorry!!!!!!
Thank you so much for the reply. I have found a 90 day return on the tria so if I do find it brings back my pigmentation I can return it:-). It's my birthday on Friday so I think I will treat myself xxxxxx
Hi there! I was wondering can you use this EVERYWHERE? as in if I wanted to buy the Lume and do a brazilian style zap would it be effective/safe there? also how many treatments does it take and how often can you do it? thanks so much!
Nadine, do you have any recommendations of laser clinics/ practitioners for women of colour (South Asian skin tone here!) in London? Or even if there is a specific technology that works better for tanned skin tones? I've heard good things about Soprano laser. Home kits probably wouldn't work on me and I'm happy to go professional but don't know where to go! Many thanks x
Would the Tria work for me? I'm a transgender girl with very dark facial hair and fairer skin. I'm just not sure since my facial hair is thicker and coarser than a cisgender woman. Hormones have helped in thinning it out but I'm worried that it may cause problems.
I was wondering if you thought this would be something that would work on a mustache. I'd love to get rid of the hair on my face. I can't grow a proper beard or mustache anyways. Anyways do you think this would work for helping a guy get rid of hair on his face?
Thank You Rachel, Absolutely no bleach (my hair would beak). It is Redken 50% 8N, 25% 8Av and 25%Aa on the roots with 80vol Cream (as I am 50% grey and have been going grey since I was 26). This means that it lightens as it grows and actually has natural highlights. Then I have twice a year balayage to lighten sections using high lift tint. The colourists I know and trust and have do my hair are Nicola Clarke at John Frieda, Jack Howard at Paul Edmonds and Despina at Michealjohn. XXX Ps I hate it when it goes warm or reddy and have you seen this vlog? I swear by this high street shampoo - th-cam.com/video/x2Z3oRnhmcs/w-d-xo.html
Hi there I have Pcos and I have very rapid hair growth to the facial area if I was to use the Tria would I have to shave every week before I use this even if the hairs are growing back just a little. Do I always need to shave?
They say shave but I have seen other women with pcos say they trimmed the hair down to the skin or used an electric shaver instead and it's worked out for them
It most definitely will not help rosacea and could irritate it - that's because the wavelength of light is calibrated to target melanin not haemoglobin in blood. It could technically help with age spots, but I personally would not be willing to risk the chance of my pigmentation going darker. X
The best review out there, no overly cheerful girl who's talking 5 minutes about the product and 15 min about herself. Thank you, now I'm definitely going to purchase this trough your link :)
Update? Please let me know if it worked
A real person who doesn't speed talk endlessly about themselves
thankyou! at last someone whos voice doesn't annoy the hell outa me lol. Great review x
I just bought the Tria and have been zapping away for the past few days. Didn't see your video when I was looking for reviews, but it's so nice to see it has your stamp of approval! Really trust your opinion.
Hi kimberly
Now you have had the tria for a year, what are your thoughts>?
thanks
This a very detailed review. Straight to the point. With your style, I am now convinced to buy this. Been putting this off for 2 years.
Update? Please let me know if it worked

She got me with that one. I knew that she was the real deal when she said that.

Once, I've had permanent laser hair removal on my face and neck, that means I don't need to pluck the facial hairs by using the tweezers, anymore.
Great review. Thank you. I am keen to go for the Tria.
Great to see this review as I have asked you before about this🙈 but my concern is that my dark hair is growing from my eyebrows right down to my face. Hi Nadine !
thanks for the lovely video
Do you stick to their rule of only using it every two weeks?
Someone asked me where my top was from and now I can't find the question (so many on so many channels, sorry, it's Helmut Lang summer 2016 X

Hi, Nadine. Is it okay to use these when you’re using retinol/retinoids or Vitamin C?
Hi Nadine, I was wondering if you've used this machine on your bikini? I've waxed for quite some time and so my hair is more sparse now, but still black and annoying. Most importantly I can never manage to shave without getting some weird red bumps or lovely ingrown hair (very much prone), so my question is how well did it work for you if you've used it. Amazing review thankyou for your honesty. I have dark hair and light skin so hopefully it will work well. Thanks again
Hi Nadine. How do i keep my eyes safe while using these?
Just what I needed to know! you are the best! And your nails look amazing!
Can anyone attest to whether these devices would remove facial thread/spider veins? Ive had ipl sessions in a clinic and it seems to me that the function is the same?
You answered all my questions! Thank you Nadine 😚👍
Have you tried the new cheaper ones? I like your review
Hi Nadine, I'm wondering if by any chance there are health risks using IPL hair removals?
Hi Nadine, have you tried the Remmington ilight pro face and body? If so what are your thoughts?
Which one is most powerful?
can you please update with newer gadgets thanks so much
Can you tell us what hair removal devices you used and didn't work 🙏
Sorry but I need to ask where did you get the Mickey behind you
So...
What can someone do about hairs that lost their pigment?
Without having to shave or pluck.
Is it at all dangerous? I’m concerned about damage or side effects... also have many treatments does it typically take? Your video was so informative and fantastic! Thank you! Just subscribed! 😄
is it permanent hair removal or semi-permanent? how often the hair grows back?
The Tria Hair Removal Laser delivers permanent results. Some have a few hairs growing back and can use the Tria device to touch up.
Would you still recommend the Tria for upper lip/chin facial hair removal?
Thank You for this video, im exactly checking between these two hair removals. :D
Update? Please let me know if it worked
I would like to use goggles as a precaution....do you know what other people have used. Thank you.
Hello! I just subscribed because I found this video researching on comments about home ipl or laser treatment. I bought the philips lumea today.. But I havent used it yet. you're fantastic at explaining ! thank you so much ! x
For me the most painful areas are under the nose and the very undercarriage of my bikini line 😁
does this remove KP (strawberry legs)? x
Are there any home remedies? x
Yes, I'm 42 and I need hair gone before it goes gray. What is the best for small and large sensors in 2019? Also, what if any is the after treatment?
The best home ipl device is definitely Philips lumea prestige bri956 or bri954.
Please tell me what is the 1st one named and how many flashes??
Does it work on pubic hair...
Will hair regrow back at all? Or it gone for good?
does it cause any skin damage in the long term?
So if I have long blonde hair it wont work
Does it remove hair permanently?
Do these machines target hemoglobin? Can they treat rosacea as well as hair removal? Thank you.
c orref no they can't BUT salon machines can and work brilliantly on Rosacea x I did a video with my sister about how she cured her rosacea xxxx it's on this channel ♥️
Hi. Thank you for your very informative video. I have bought Sanitas IPL 200 from Lidl for £69.99. It is considerably cheaper then the ones you are reviewing. I have tried it today and will see the results in a week hopefully. Do you think it will work?
Y jackson it does safety when u are pregnant??
Thank you. I actually have returned back as it didn't work.
Does ipl work on older people (white hairs).
Hi. Nadine. I bleech the hair on my chin. They are black and long. I am turning 14 this year. My classmates bullies me about my facial hair. I can't even talk to people bc of my chin hair. Please help me. Can I use this Tria on my face? My skin tone is like light brown on yellow side.
Hi nadine, I wondered if I can apply make up right after doing this or does the skin have to be left to settle? Thanks. Love your channel 😘
I would do it last thing at night if you have sensitive skin - but mineral makeup is always ok afterwards X thank you for liking my channel too
Hi I have a dark hair that always comes from a mole. Would it be okay to zap that?
I trust your review blindly ❤
What is the proper name of the first if we buy cos there r other types like Lunga and philip
What can I buy for white hairs over 50S? Please? Help
Pros and cons versus getting it done in a clinic? Is it just the time factor, because I have no issue with that :)
Yes time and number of treatments are both higher with DIY? In the long term it's cheaper though and more convenient xxx
excellent, thanks for getting back to me! :) xxx
Hello really appreciate your video. With the Trio, after treatment, does it leave your face dry or make the face peal at all? Thanks
Brittany Floyd no it shouldn't do that at all with the hair removal version x
Thank you so much for replying.
No, not at all, not with the hair removal laser (the resurfacing one yes it does) X
Once it runs out do you buy a new laser or bulb or a whole new Device?
It does around 250000 flashes so will last for years.
I would like to do my hairline! Is it permanent?
So I'm not fair skinned but I am white with thick black hair. I hear that's the best type for this. Your blond so I hear this doesn't work well if at all for you but did you get any benefit? Because I have a lot of area like shoulders uhgg it's horrible I hate it! But I don't have 5k or 10k for a professional place
May I know which one works better for great results.. Ipl lumea or laser tria? As Laser we assume is more powerful..??
Update? Please let me know if it worked
My advice is go for the Tria as its a narrower wavelength X it works brilliantly on peach fuzz
Ps don't suppose you can send me a pic of your pigmentation? I could ask Tria and Philips for you ❣
Fortunately at the moment my pigmentation is pretty much under control with a strict skincare regime and loads of spf every day!!!!!!
+fionajammaster will you let me know how you get on?❣
Does it work on fair skin blonde hair?
"that's what you want, you want someone else to pay for it" lol
Alexis Anderson lol it's what I did!! 😂
Hi there! I was wondering can you use this EVERYWHERE? as in if I wanted to buy the Lume and do a brazilian style zap would it be effective/safe there? also how many treatments does it take and how often can you do it? thanks so much!
Yes it is fine to use on your bikini line and into a brazilian strip, or all off if you can take the discomfort. X
ps it takes six treatments to make a lasting difference, then top it up when new hairs grow through X
thank you so much! your video was extremely helpful 😊
For Soprano I like The Courthouse Clinic in central London as they were one of the first to have it xxx
ps also well worth looking at is the Debbie Thomas Clinic on the Kings Rd XXX
+Nadine Baggott thank you!
OMG! I love this review
can I continue to moisterize my body while I use it tho?
absolutely x
Nadine Baggott thx! Also do u have a discount for it?
I think I saw you on bbc news like yesterday 😂 I don’t know if it was your or not
what attachment do I use for my husbands ears?
great video ive been wanting to buy one ! ❤️
Does it work for men? I know women these days prefer the smooth tanned look
It works for men as well. There is also a Philips lumea Version for men which is black and white instead of white and gold rose.
I have learned so much from you and I thank you!
Would the Tria work for me? I'm a transgender girl with very dark facial hair and fairer skin. I'm just not sure since my facial hair is thicker and coarser than a cisgender woman. Hormones have helped in thinning it out but I'm worried that it may cause problems.
Yunalis Carrillo ? why eould u mention ur a Trans THO? like what.
qxsalmaxp H because......I have thicker facial hair than a cisgender woman would have.
I was wondering if you thought this would be something that would work on a mustache. I'd love to get rid of the hair on my face. I can't grow a proper beard or mustache anyways. Anyways do you think this would work for helping a guy get rid of hair on his face?
Philips doesn't recommend using it on men's faces. I think a laser technician could help you best.
Can I use this gadget face hair remove
have you used it to remove all your hair?
Sara Booth bikini line only oh and moustache he he x
Hi nadine, do you have bleach to get your colour and a toner? you have a great cool blonde xx
They say shave but I have seen other women with pcos say they trimmed the hair down to the skin or used an electric shaver instead and it's worked out for them
Hi Nadine, I bought the Tria laser but i need it for my whole body, Do you think it will help on my body? i have very thick hair
Yes absolutely although it's much slower to use than the Philips as the head is smaller XXX
Thanks
ok I'm olive and blonde. Is your hair blonde on your face?
A few super dark and annoying hair, but main main facial hair is blonde and fluffy (laser and IPl do not work on that) X
Do you think this laser tool can help with rosacea or brown spots if I zap my face with it? I know its not meant for that but it is IPL
It most definitely will not help rosacea and could irritate it - that's because the wavelength of light is calibrated to target melanin not haemoglobin in blood. It could technically help with age spots, but I personally would not be willing to risk the chance of my pigmentation going darker. X
Thank you very much for responding! have a good day Nadine! :)
