    Omg thanks for sharing an accurate laser hair removal story. My first session getting a Brazilian last hair removal was soooo incredibly painful! Nothing like the “rubber band zap” people say. & I had been waxing for years and have a decent pain tolerance. The second session using numbing cream helped tremendously.

    • @kariiiinaxoxo

      I just got my first today and I agree! I think it’s more of a burning zap lol deff a little more intense than a “rubber band zap” but the nurse lowered the setting and I felt nothing after. Still better than waxing imo

    Girl that was my experience as well, I cried as well, I thought it was so painful!!! Two of my girlfriends went to the same place I went to and they said it didn’t hurt for them. My back would be so sweaty by the time i was done with my appointments. I applied numbing cream and took ibuprofen as well and it still hurt but not as much. Anyways, it’s been 6 years since I finished my treatments, I still get it touched up once a year and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself!!! I want to get more areas done now but I don’t want to relive that pain again. Funny thing is, I gave birth to 2 children and id rather give birth than get my hair laser treated 🤣

  • @ruthsdyspraxiacontent
    @ruthsdyspraxiacontent 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    Hi :) Unfortunately I didn't have as good an experience as you when I got mine done in 2015. I got the full course of treatment, and obeyed all the rules. While I was getting it done the hair was definitely reducing and thinning, but I don't think it ever disappeared completely. Then about 6 months after finishing my course (and around £400 down) my hair had all grown back and now it's still relatively thick and dark. I can say my hair might be slightly thinner, but that is the only difference. I got mine done with Nuffield health and sent them pictures to complain about a year after, but they just said that I have to be prepared for that to happen and may have to keep getting it every now and again for the rest of my life! I wish I had seen something like this before I got laser hair removal, as, although the majority appear to have a good experience with it, I would only recommend doing it if you are in the financial position to part with that much money and realise that it might be a waste! Sorry to be a downer :(

    • @Elizabeth-bq3cj

    • @rainbowstorm3429
      @rainbowstorm3429 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Alex I think you should balance your hormones that will also reduce a whole lot amount of body hair. P.S I suffer from PCOS and my doctor suggested I regulate my hormones first and then go for laser (if I still do need it)

    • @rasbery17
      @rasbery17 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      what do you take to regulate your hormones for PCOS? I have recently been diagnosed so I'm still not too familiar with my options since my doctor doesn't seem to want to prescribe me a certain birth control to help with balancing my hormones. I've asked 3 times and she says she'll put in my prescription but has never done it, and its pretty fucking annoying to say the least.

    Hey! I want to share my experience on laser hair removal. So, I started getting this when I was 15, but then I started taking medication that was photosensible, so I had to stop the laser treatment. Finally, like seven months later (I was 16 already), I continued with the laser hair removal. For me, it did hurt as the intensity of the laser went up; even though I had the cold air. The first sessions (when I was still 15) didn't hurt at all, it just felt hot and some pinches in the area (mustache area). The sessions were 8 in total plus a retouch one. I did see results; the hair was thinner, the hair regrowth time was longer. However, they told that because of my age, the hair will continue to grow, so I had to keep doing the laser. Since your body stops growing and developing until the age of 20 or so, I decided not to keep doing the laser hair removal; that would cost a lot jaja. So, until I turn 20, I'm going to wax my mustache and then I'll the laser hair removal again.

    This was a nice video! Since I'm "done" with laser hair removal and doing a follow up review, one tip I have is to avoid exfoliating too much after the treatment. It's tempting to pull the hair out or scrub it to help get the hair out on your own, but it's best to let it fall out by itself as much as possible. You don't want to disrupt the normal growth phase of your hair since that dictates the timing of your next treatment. I'm sorry it hurt, too. Should try to brace for it though, because once you get around to your final sessions and they turn the laser up, it's definitely more painful; especially on those areas as I've had them done myself. This is my opinion on laser. I feel like her pain tolerance is very low, as is mine but she explained how it was quite painful when it wasn't. I'm 14 and i got my under arms lasered and it hardly hurt. It was by far much less painful than waxing. I highly reccomend it and the pain is nothing to worry about.

    • @1pikica2

      They can use stronger setting for my armpits and legs and I am relatively OK. For my bikini/Brazilian area, they need to use a lower setting and I still ask them to stop every now and then so I can get through it. I even cried once because it was that painful.

    Laser is only FDA approved for permanent hair reduction, NOT elimination. Electrolysis is the only approved permanent hair elimination technique out there. I have worked on many clients who got laser only to have the hairs regrow years later. Also if you are thinking of getting laser for facial hair be warned that you stand about a 50/50 shot of it actually stimulating more growth. Best wishes on your hair loss journey!

    • @dutchik5107
      @dutchik5107 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The more growth is because you forget how much it was, and age also tends to worsen the problem
      It doesn't say it is permanent. Just permanent as in permanent hair dye, or make up.
      Just takes a lot longer to grow back each time. To yeah the point where you are a few years hair free instead of shaving every/every other day.
      It will EVENTUALLY grow back. And then you'll have to do it again. (Or catch it early and do it one time again) like eventually you'll have that there is 6months between treatment.
      It is approved. Hell you can even do it with less powerful ones at home.
      It's just infrared light.
      The only reason electrolosys is the only one approved for permanent is because it is the only one that also removes the follicles.
      It doesn't claim to reduce hair follicles. Only reduce hair growth.
      Your clients just didn't understand what it ment in the first plave or misremembered. Cause it is so expensive. That's why i am on the team of buying your own machine, cause then you can do it again when you have to. And is cheaper overall.

    • @goddesst
      @goddesst 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dutchik5107 those machines don't work on everyone though. Can't use them if your hair is naturally blonde, red or grey. Also doesnt work on dark skin.

    • @dutchik5107
      @dutchik5107 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@goddesst I know. But that doesn't mean it was ever claimed to be for elimination. Which is what my point was.
      It's not like companies are hiding the fact that it doesn't work on blond hair. Or not as suitable for dark skinned individuals.
      But if you are blonde, does it really matter? Cause your hair is invisible anyways!

      @@goddesst with how it works they cannot make it inclusively work the same and just as well. Doesnt mean they shouldn't sell it.

    Not to scare anyone, but honestly don't understand how laser hair removal cannot hurt! My first session was terrible! It felt like someone was putting needles in every follicle and then starting a fire right at the roots of it. I was literally screaming haha but it was totally worth it! The second, third etc did not hurt at all compared to the first one. I am on my 5th session and honestly cannot feel anything anymore! Totally worth it :)

    GURL!!! i use gentle laser for my legs cause i have light skin BUT because my hair is SO THICK it hurts soooo much. it is so painful to the point where i make crying sounds and i start tearing up and the women who did the treatment for me said that the reason why it hurts me so much is due to how thick my hair is. the thicker your hair is the more painful it will feel.

    I'm blonde with pale skin. I really want laser hair removal, but I don't think my natural body hair is dark enough. :( Most of my body hair is literally clear. The areas I shave are a darker blonde color. Hopefully, someday they come up with a way to treat finer, lighter hair!

    YESSS finally someone is telling us the truth! I went to my first laser on the brazillian thinking it wouldn't hurt cos EVERYONE said it didn't hurt. Influencers, even the therapist told me it didn't hurt! At first they did my underarm. Didn't feel anything much, so thought I would experience the same thing on the brazillian area. But boy IT IS EXACTLY HOW YOU DESCRIBED. IT'S LIKE SOMEONE TOOK A HOT KNIFE AND SLICED ME WITH THAT!
    With that experience (and feeling so pissed off because everyone said it didn't hurt), I just did laser on my underarm and continued waxing on brazillian. I WILL NEVER GO THROUGH LASER HAIR REMOVAL ON MY BRAZILLIAN EVER AGAIN!

    Just got my under arms, lower legs and Brazilian done for the first time all at once. The first couple of shocks I didn't feel. After that it was a small burn like a little prick. I have a low pain tolerance so I was so nervous. It wasn't that bad. Some areas were super sensitive so it made me jump. The center of my armpits and the dead center of my shin was the worst, but it wasn't unbearable. The top part of my biking area was SUPER sensitive. Make sure you shave as close as your nerves can handle- hair makes the burn more intense. But yea, I agree the quick ripping pain is a good comparison!!! It's different but it's a cool experience!!

    I'm in the process of getting my bikini area done right now and I don't find the treatments very painful at all. I have VERY pale skin and hair that is dark in comparison so I'm sure that helps. Also I have over a hundred hours of tattoos and have been pierced around 40 times so my pain tolerance is super high. I have noticed At least a 40% reduction of hair in only 2 sessions and I would highly recommend laser hair removal!

    I'm getting laser hair removal and i love it. Where i do it they put an ice cold gel on your skin and then they just wipe the laser across your skin multiple times. The outside part of the laser is cold so because of that and the gel i barely feel a thing. It takes multiple appointments but it has been totally worth it😊😊😊
