6:oo am on the East coast, here in the US. Going to give this a try! I have all my paints and paper ready.....and a strong cup of coffee! Fingers crossed. Thank you for the inspiration!
I watch often. Your varied subjects and styles are a source of inspiration and information. It’s a struggle for me to adopt different approaches. Your demonstrations help. Thanks.
WOW, simply gorgeous! I love Autumn colors and what a perfect use of masking fluid. Everything ties together beautifully and your instruction makes it so easy to follow.
Thank you so much, Lois. I tend to overdo my watercolour and you have helped enormously in simplying the technique creating a truly beautiful impression!
Really beautiful painting. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques with us. I have been looking through tutorials for fall leaves and this one is the most appealing to me. I am going to attempt this myself.
Another amazing technique Lois you've used to create a true to image effects in this Burch woodland scene, enjoyed this video and found it helpful in changing the ways to achieve different results. Greatly appreciating Lois thanks stay safe and healthy
Lois, you’re really good at not “fiddling.”. I’m thankful that you model when to stop. It’s beautiful and I’m excited to try masking fluid for the first time. 🍁🍂
Stunning. There are a lot of winter painting appearing on video right now. And of course, they're all very good. And then there's this, with is gorgeous bright, warm colours. Giving hope that summer hasn't quite been pushed right out of the year yet. The beautiful blurred backgrounds that you, and Karen Rice produce, are so deeply atmospheric, and almost prohibit the eye from latching onto anything but the main feature. I try and try to replicate these type of backgrounds, but have yet to achieve one convincing enough to keep it. I won't mention that my attempts resemble something the dog's stomach rejected. I haven't given up learning to walk again, (and that's had me in tears), so I won't give up trying this either. Even if I'm forced to use school exercise book paper my kids left lying around. (They're all grown up now. The youngest is 23). Still hanging on to hope that father Christmas hears my plea for good quality paper. (Not hinting, begging or anything like that. I'm too proud to do that.) Thank you again for bringing you talent and your mind to you tube. Never disappointed in your videos. TTFN.
You make it look easy! Love ❤️ the techniques in this tutorial, and your instructions give me the confidence to try it. I watch all your posts. Thank you. 💙🌵🙏
Thank you Lois, more inspiration. I was in a local forest yesterday, there had been heavy rain and the colours were intense. I can now feel an abstracty landscape coming on 😃 many thanks, keep well and safe Alioban x
Замечательные видео!!!! С удовольствием смотрю и иногда повторяю. Вдохновляет, хотя не понимаю английского языка. Тут язык и ненужен, все очень наглядно. Огромное спасибо.

Somehow I missed this vid when you posted it, I certainly didn't get a notification. I presume that you removed the masking fluid after about 4:28 ? That is the stage which I hate !!! I love the finished painting, thank you for sharing.
Hi Lois, I love this and you make it look so easy. Thank you for sharing your techniques. I would like to try something similar, but creating a wood in Springtime with different green tones, instead of Autumn. Do you think that would work?
Hi Louis. Great instructions. May I ask you which maskingevær fluid and even more important which decorators masking tape do you prefer? You have much more success with the masking tape than me 😊
I just use cheap masking tape from Ebay, and AMT Products art masking tape also from Ebay. If you are having trouble, it may be your paper, or try warming the tape (not fluid) with a hairdryer to release the glue more easily
@@LoisDavidsonArtThanks so much for your answer. I will look at ebay :-)! I use arches 300 g cotton. But all the masking tapes (cheap and expensive) seems to take off the paper. Therefore I have turned to Tesa Precision sensitive. It doesn't tear off the paper, and it is nice to work with, but it also doesnt cling as nicely to the paper as yours seem to do. You call it decorator's masking tape - maybe that is the clue. Mine is just Masking tape.
Brilliant work, really enjoy watching your paintings come together. Learning lots along tge way 😊
I love painting birches. This is lovely! Definitely a must try. ❤

Thanks for that feedback, it took me a while and lots of overworked paintings to learn when to stop, but I think it’s really important 😊🎨

Bellissimo 😮
I love it!!
Genial y fácil. Un saludo!!!
Thanks so much 🎨💐😊
¿ Me podría aclarar dónde hay que poner el líquido de enmascarar y cuando hay que quitarlo?
Apply the masking fluid before painting, and remove just before painting the tree trunks
@@LoisDavidsonArt
Solamente se pone en los troncos ??
Muchas gracias
Lovely!
Beautiful 💜
This is an amazing video.👍 Keep growing in the future. Always cheering for you and being with you as a friend....👍👍👍
Thank you. Beautiful.
Thank you for this beautiful tutorial! Where exactly is the link you mentioned to see how you used the masking fluid? Would you mind re-posting it?
Fabulous- thank you so much 😊
Beautiful! 😍
Thanks! 😊🎨
Lois, thank you for this very useful vid. I am such a fan! May I ask what brand spray bottle you use? I can’t find one with a fine enough spray.
I love painting birch trees and will try this one out. I checked your Patreon page and was sad to see that you are sold out.

Hi - Can someone tell me how to get the masking fluid off ? Thank you x
May I ask which edging tape you use please?
I use ordinary decorators masking tape
@@LoisDavidsonArt does it not rip the paper? I’ve tried washi tape, low tack tape, and ordinary masking tape, but all seem to rip paper.
Maybe it’s your paper, I have no problems with cotton paper, but cheap paper will often rip as the surface isn’t treated in the same way
@@LoisDavidsonArt i will try more expensive paper.
preciosa acuarela. Podrías poner subtitulos en español. Muchas gracias
Saludos.
