- Part1 of this job - Changing the timing belt, tensioner and water pump on a Suzuki 1.3 engine. This is on a Suzuki Jimny 4x4. But this engine is common on a lot of Suzuki car models.

27:13 I say torque for the tensioner is about 12nm, this is FALSE. Torque is 22nm!
Just performed a sidekick water pump replacement today...just under 2.5 hours to complete and a simple job! Thanks for the video!
Excellent camera work. The best water pump/timing belt video on TH-cam!
estaba buscando este video por horas y ya lo tengo, mañana intentaré cambiar la bomba de agua muchas gracias excelente explicación
Thanks for doing this video, I took the radiator out, remove the plastic guard first to clear the fan, made getting to the crank pulley bolts and wrestling it off much easier, same is true of the fan and much easier access to the timing chest and no risk of damaging the radiator core when fighting with the tools in the narrow gap, using a impact gun also saves jamming the flywheel.
Thanks mate just taught me how to do a timming belt much appreciated
Me too
At your service man. Thanks for comment.
Great job mate 👌
Very informative, keep up with the blogs..
Bedankt voor de instructie kerel!
Doen we het voor toch. Vind ik leukste van youtube, mensen die elkaar helpen.
Excellent video, thanks a lot :)
easy way to get better access to the bottom crank and undo the 10mm bolts, grab a piece of pine wood, round 40cms long, put on floor jack, position pine wood under the drivers side engine mount, undo the 2 engine mount bolts and lower with floor jack, better access now, when finished, jack up and secure engine mount
Muito bom vídeo. Bem explicado.
Very helpful
Nice
my bad, you DO show the gear with the "E" mark straight up and the "I" mark at 5:00 thanks
i have a quesion regardingthe crankshaft gear. do your crankshaft gear wobbles left to right on te crankshaf? or is it stiff on the cran shaft?
Gracias por la explicación,!! Muchas gracias
djzacombo no thanks. Thanks for commenting
Very good, BUT you don't show the face of the cam gear which has TWO alignment marks. One has an "E" and one has an "I" The 13BB which is a NON interference motor 16 Valve single overhead cam lines up with which? Yes you used a paint mark, but for those of us who didn't it would be nice to know, I can't find this information anywhere car has been in my shop three weeks now, not into trial and error even if it is non interference
No, I need to show the factory marks which the factory changed for Chevy Metro 2000-2001 because the "E" was replaced by two marks at 12 and 4 O'clock position of some kind. Yes, the top marks/Big sprocket only.
Thank you . But i want to keep the camera stable !
Same for 2001 Chevy Metro LSI Sedan. 1.3 4cyc
any performance difference after replacing wornout timing belt ??
I dont think so, but if u dont change it before it's too late, it will cause fatal engine failure.
Is this engine the same as a 1996 Suzuki sidekick?
Hello. Do you know where the camshaft senzor is on this engine? i can find it anywhere. Thank you!
The Cam sensor on a G13BB engine is on the back of the engine, bit hard to see.
what was the tightening torque for the water pump and crank pulley, I doing the same thing tomorrow, is there anything else needs torquing up
Question: Why do BOTH belt on marks AND screw driver in 1st Cyc? Marks are TDC.
Belts and braces.
why taek spark plug out during timing belt replace, it's related or just needed for yours?
Is been a while since I watched the video, I removed number one sparkplug to find TDC, and check If timing marks lined up. And removing plugs makes it easier to turn the crank over by hand. Because no compression. But its not really needed.
What can happen if the timing belt cut automatic🤔🤔❓
Horror.....
It's very likely that the pistons would hit the valves and bend them and it's not fun trust me
HI HOW MANY TEETH IN THE TIMING BELT. THANKS
?...enough
I think that’s a 1.6. But I believe it’s the same for the 1.3 and 1.6 as long as it’s an 8 valve and not a 16 valve
Joeys Garage oké, it’s registered as 1298cm3. So I think it’s a 1.3. Thanks for watching.
What year is it
Joeys Garage 2001
Oh. That makes sense
Joeys Garage I’m not an expert on Suzuki’s so I wouldn’t know.
This engine looks like Indian made Maruti Sazuki Gypsy
Your doing a 1.6 16v engine not a 1.3 8 valve
Never add rtv to a paper gasket. It's either or.
I never had any problems doing it. You do what you want.
>wanted to find if any tips on getting waterpump belt off
>litterally all you skip.
haha sorry mate, not so difficult to take it off. loosen tensioner and alternator and you can take the belts off.
