The masculine urge to look at my best friend the same ushio looked at tora @ 1:11 as we fight for our lives in the apocalypse as the last stand for the human race to escape to an off distance civilization to survive and live in hiding.
The only reason I can say why this anime is underrated is because the lack of fanservice. No melon nor pretty boy. Plot story wise, it’s not as edgy or unique as other shounen but I like it better than most of other famous shounen. Toga’s character is very likeable, if the mangaka make him as hot human-like youkai, then this would probably get more popular.
I think Tora looks awesome even though he has a beast like appearence. I think that's one part of him that makes him unique. If he looked human he would look just like some weird creep when he tries to Sneak up on people to eat them. Haha. I think it's good that he looks the way he does. It makes Them a cool Duo.
Tora is handsome, not the bae type of handsome, but the dog kind of handsome - when you say to your pet 'you look so handsome ' and want to smoosh their face despite the risk of getting your fingers bitten/scratched at some point.

Just started watching this one. Real wholesome old school shonen vibes. Likeable characters, great dynamic between Ushio and Tora, cool humour (Tora shines) and some neat horrorish moments. I feel like the story's gonna get better, thus far it's episodic. I noticed a lot of influence on other, big shonens.

Back when Mappa wasn't popular. They actually got under a radar after doing Dororo and got popular with Jujutsu Kaisen. At least in the majority of people. They did Hajime no Ippo if i recall correctly.
I love the seen when they are Standing back to back and Ushio looking at Tora. It's so awesome. And then the crowd of youkai around them. Such an awesome Scene
This opening bleeds iron maiden and saxon. You could throw Killers or purgatory over it and itd work just as perfectly. Also doesnt help that Ushio looks sorta like Eddie the Head
is it just me or that fusuma thing was a inspiration to create dame tu cosita because fusuma and that alien guy in that video almost have the same face
Imma be honest It one of those animes I got into only cause of its opening. But start enjoying the story shortly afterwards XD It was a really good shows

It's MAPPA's Shounen that I liked the most, they didn't rush too much and adapted in a way that few in 30 EPs.
