    Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm an analogue photographer so have been struggling with getting my digital work to look like film. I didn't know about luminosity masks so look forward to playing with this.

    Thanks for posting. I just purchased C1and learning how to use it. I really like how you showed how to use the layers; the luma mask technique seems like a really precise way to color(colour) grade. Though, I really like the speed and easy of use of the color wheel technique. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and helping me get acquainted with C1.

    Thank you for doing these tutorials, very relaxing and enjoyable to follow and picked up a few tips too. I’ve been using curves a lot more lately and find it better for fine tuning a look rather than just pushing the colour balance tool. I do find the colour balance tool easier/faster to find the look I’m after though but guess that has to do with trying to understand colour theory a little better which I should really look into, instead of just going by eye. A great tip splitting your layers into shadows/miss/highlights, capture one is great! Thanks again 😊

    • @zoenoblephoto
      @zoenoblephoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So glad you like Luke! Yes the Color Balance is just so easy but Curves allow so much control. So I’ll use each depending on the type of look I want or whether I‘m pushed for time :)

    Thank you! Very clear and concise explanation of using the tools in Capture One to color grade. Do you typically color grade the raw files in Capture One before retouching them in Photoshop? I usually correct the raw files with the basic exposure and white balance, then edit in Photoshop and then color grade the TIFF files in Capture one. Lately, I've tried the color grading first, before going into Photoshop to retouch. Pros and cons of either way?

    • @zoenoblephoto
      @zoenoblephoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Ng thanks John! So it will depend on a few factors if I Colour grade in C1. If it’s a client image and I need to retouch skin or do more intensive stuff I will also just do a basic RAW conversion to exposure and lift shadows to get as much detail. Then I’ll take it into PS to colour. This way if the client wants to change anything the colour grade is not baked in and I can change it easily. If it’s personal work I may do the colour in C1 as I’m really sure I won’t change the colours. It’s for sure quicker to colour grade images in C1 so when I can, I will do this. Hope that helps!

    Hi Zoe. Thanks for a great tutorial! I see you had to increase your exposure by 1.5 stops. What's your reason for underexposing by so much and do you usually shoot in this way? Also, did you adjust WB at all? Do you have any tutorials about C1 sharpening? Images from my D800 always seem very blotchy, almost like they've been over sharpened and bring out all the imperfections.

    • @zoenoblephoto
      @zoenoblephoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Sean! Regarding expsposure I was moving quickly with different positions and she just moved out of the light a bit so that's why! Usually I correctly exposure :) I haven't yet done any tutorial on sharpeneing but I'll add this to my list!

    Hello Zoe. I keep following your videos. Thanks a lot.
    What do think is the simplest/best in color grading? Capture One, Ps, Camera Raw or Lightroom?

    • @zoenoblephoto
      @zoenoblephoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much Alan! The simplest way is Capture One's Color Balance tool for sure! You can add colour so quickly and use those Color Wheels so intuitively. They're so so easy so I love using them so much! :)

    • @alanpierrers
      @alanpierrers 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zoenoblephoto I thought so from how you illustrated in the video. Things look so much simpler and better. I think i will adopt the same and even try it for a set of images. I hope there's an option to duplicate the settings to a group of images.

    You mentioned a tutorial on curves with a link in the description but I don't see it. I searched "capture one curve" and your name but didn't come up with an obvious choice. My Fuji cameras seem to always have a blue cast that I would like to tone down. The curve tool seems to have a lot of promise to balance out the blue but I haven't quite figured out how to use it.
