That beaver will totally be ok. Plenty to eat and by the river to travel. They are tougher than you think. It’s not a baby.. juvenile at least. You both have hearts of gold.
He looked like a strong little guy. If he was anywhere close to home his parents would find him easily. Thanks for doing the right thing, if only everyone was so considerate of wildlife the world would be a better place!
Don't you have a nature center in your area, that would have the expertise to take care of that little guy? Or call your local rangers, I like you all but it's pretty presumptuous to just do it on your own. Unless they already have shitty reputation and you can't trust them
We called every wild life agency multiple times within a reasonable distance before we even touched the little guy. Unfortunately no answer. We spent over an hour just watching him pace back and forth, dogs and people passing him on the canal path, cat stalking him… he was just not supposed to be there and in our opinion had no chance at survival or reunion with his parents. The day prior we had flooding that made the news and cars were swept into the river right along that stretch. I’m sure his 🦫 dam was swept away with it. We took him up stream to hopefully get him closer to home. Sometimes you just have to do what you feel is right in your heart.
@@jennifersugint you did right by the little guy, in my area the rangers or the nature centers are pretty much on the ball when needed. I wished it was like that everywhere.
You guy's did right. Urban area is not safe place for a wild animals, especially for young beaver who could be run over by car or become a victim for pets.
Thank you Chris and Jennifer for rescuing that little beaver from potential serious harm or worse, you did your best folks, hopefully he/she is living a happy life at beaver pond 👍👍
That's gotta be one of the cutest little critters I've ever seen. Poor little guy was so scared, but you guys did an awesome job of making him feel comfortable. Well done!
You did the right thing. People who say leave these wild animals alone would presumably also object to wildlife sanctuaries where animals are cared for and protected from predators. People can and should intervene when not intervening could cause the unnatural death of the animal. Or you could have waited for the government to do something like we saw with the sunken boat. ;-)
I’m so glad yall did your best to help that poor little beaver get to safety Jen and Chris, if only more people were caring as yall and I are the world would be a better place my friends! I hope Jen is ok from her sting out there that night! 🙏🏻 He might have found his parents guys, hopefully and all you can do is try! Yall are really appreciated for your love of animals, as I am too! Thanks for sharing Jen and Chris, take care of yourself and your Gus and Turbo as they are the sweetest like mine are! Kirk in Louisiana sending prayers and positive energy to you and yours! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I enjoyed your video ! ✌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
They explore on their own at 2 months old, but stay with the family until 2 years old. They mark their colony by scent, he will be able to move, hide and eat in the water, and smell around to find his moms colony if wasn't washed too far from it. Great job though, cats aren't part of nature and kill millions of birds and other native animals across the world, you gave him a much better chance!
You are good people and certainly went the extra mile. I wondered what young beavers eat but their diet can include grass so where you left him seemed ideal. Glad you didn't lose Gus in all that foliage!
Chris and Jen, I'm happy this video came up in my recommendations. At first I was like "oh no, why won't people leave wild critters alone" Then I shut up and watched the video. You two really do restore my faith in humanity. Kindness without stupidity. Thank you for being kind hearted and willing to help out others, Humans Beings. We all need to learn to be better to one another in this world that is always pushing us to be more selfish nowadays. 😇
I do a little mountain biking back there when its not so overgrown. Definitely major beaver activity in that whole area off the canal. I'll keep an eye out for him.
I've always lived where I could hear trains. Right now I have a place in Colorado Springs, CO and another in Casa Grande, AZ. My wife and I had intentions of being Snowbirds, Colorado in the summer and Arizona in the winter. I lost my wife in December of 2022 and I just can't enjoy the travel.
I just love you guys.. your awesome.. they like birch bark.. He is actually really calm for a beaver... He knows you guys are helping him.. You guys have a way with animals... I remember the squirrel...
Very kind of you all to help the little beaver. On the side note. beavers can carry rabies. If you come across a wild animal acting confused and without fear be extra cautious! At six months, I would kind of half expected it to try and run from humans as a natural instinct.
When a wild animal wanders around in the daytime with no worries about people. It usually means there is something wrong with it, such as rabies or some other disease.
I saw him YESTERDAY, He was larger and happy. I showed him your picture and he said he barely recognize you without hair....I guess you will have to rescue seals now.
Dear Jen, Chris and grass eating bunny hopping Gus. 😁 :-) 👍👌👏💚💚💚 Very well done! Thanks a lot for helping the cute little creature. Best regards, luck and health in particular. To all involved life forms of course (humans, animals and plants).
Thankyou for helping him. What a sweet creature! As humans We are supposed to be custodians for all of gods creatures and this is a prime example of that.
God bless you too for doing that. I dedicate my life to taking care of children and animals. The 2 things that can't take care of thimself. I absolutely love this video I hope all the best in the end. God bless you both
You helped that's the main thing guys, you did well That locomotive horn and bell is so iconic, why that idiot crossed while it was coming I will never understand
You should see if theres q wild life preserve or animal shelter in that city theyll have a phone number theyll take babys if there left alone long enough
I am confident that you did the right thing. those beaver parents probably had a prodigal son moment upon his return and they likely had a huge celebration and a big feast in his honor... LOL
You're much stronger then me. I'ld have a Beaver in my Bathroom for life! Oily yes, but my ex was Italian, sooooo. I picture coming home, and find him back stroking in the tub. An open bag of Bucc-ee's Beaver Nuggets on the side of the tub. a couple of frosty ones. waiting for us. lol! I hope he found home/Mom & Dad. Thanks for caring about him.

The most important thing a person can do is show kindness to animals.
All beavers need love.❤
Agree & that includes not eating them!

I worked for the Delaware River joint toll bridge commission and have seen many beavers at that bridge
You did great folks thank you!
I wonder what Post10 would do in this situation?
Wild you live right in my area. The deers and geese don't even care about my presence anymore on the Delaware trail, they're just like what's up lol
good job brother. thanks for helping that little dude out. I’m sure he’ll be fine. 👍
Hey CHRIS AND JEN- just watched a documentary about beavers. It was the best dam show I’ve ever seen.
.
Any idea why the train engineer dropped that flare on the road at the end of the video?
They throw flares every time they cross that part there because there's no crossing lights
There may have been a wildlife rescue organization in the area. I know there are a few where I live.
Thankyou for helping him. What a sweet creature! As humans We are supposed to be custodians for all of gods creatures and this is a prime example of that.
nice of you to help him out and that train footage at the end, whew, almost got a video of that car getting smashed
Smh all I could think of was Ward, I think you were a little hard on the beaver last night.
Dirtiest thing said on tv!
God bless you too for doing that. I dedicate my life to taking care of children and animals. The 2 things that can't take care of thimself. I absolutely love this video I hope all the best in the end. God bless you both
I love beaver!

Oh boy I woulda kept him or found a sanctuary, cant be wandering around the streets like that
He was defiantly lost didn't look like it knew how to or could get back to the water
Me watching this video: "awe... thank you so much for saving this poor little beaver"
Also me while clearing beaver dams: "f'n beavers"
Damn! … hopefully he made it. Hangin’ w/ Leo!

You guys did the right thing. Great job!
We always go to Aark Widlife Rehab on Upper Stump near Chalfont. How about that new paving on S. Delmorr?
I would say that embankment-hill was too steep for him/her to go down. Great video!
A willow branch probably more to his liking. Cheers 🥂
you both are such good human beings
thanks for trying to help him!
Beaver: Yes, I'm lost...I'm Canadian and I somehow ended up in America.
I get it. I used to spend a lot of time looking for beaver.
Looking around and saying “DAM!”
You should see if theres q wild life preserve or animal shelter in that city theyll have a phone number theyll take babys if there left alone long enough

He was writing up some mental blue prints to dam that river
You should have kept him overnight until you found someone instead of abandoning him
Once, while I was chasing Beavers in Pennsylvania, I caught a Cougar 😉
What a kind hearted thing to do.
I think you went in the right direction. 😊
