- Saw this mag light on @CaseyLaDelle 's channel and decided to pick one up. Ended up finding a better solution though!

Always bringing the truth. Wouldn't go anywhere else for real advice. Thanks man.
Harbor freight makes an amazing magnetic led that looks simalar to the snap on one. Charges type c and the magnetic part is pretty strong. I actually dropped one of my boat in the Salem River in NJ one night fishing and it stayed on in the water till I dropped my anchor on it and was able to retrieve it about 5 minutes later and it still works to this day no problem. Can get them on sale for only 25. They make a bigger one as well for 50.
Hey Chris, love your videos. I have a request if possible.
Please put links to all the different channels you have and maybe Jens as well in the info section included with every video.
You would get many more views if people didn't have to search for them.
Keep up the good work and have a great New Year.
Hello Chris and Gen, I have a magnetic one from Hyper Tough that works well for what I use it for. They are a great idea. I hope that all is good for you and Jen! 👍
Hey Chris, I did the exact same thing. You really have to watch out for it killing batteries, if you fully deplete a pack it can put the cells out of balance and even jumping it with a good m18 battery won't fix it. All of the actual milwaukee lights have a low voltage protection in them to prevent it from happening.
Oh interesting! I didn't even think about that. Thanks for the info
@@nnkhmisc To add to what he said, the battery monitors the voltage of each cell, while the tool itself does the switching, so the protection will only work with both the battery and tool connected. You can add another, separate low voltage cutoff to replace it, which is what the aftermarket M18 light you bought does, so technically you are protected - but since it only measures the whole pack voltage rather than communicating (through Milwaukee's proprietary signaling) with the battery to find out the voltage of each individual cell, an individual cell can still dip below the minimum even with this whole-pack voltage protection in place. This is made worse because Milwaukee's battery balancing circuitry has been found to be underpowered, especially with certain batteries (the 9AH for example), so once a cell becomes unbalanced to enough of a degree, the balancing circuit has a hard time correcting it during the charging process. A lot of Milwaukee batteries seem to fail in this way, even when they are used on Milwaukee tools.
You could totally sell these. I'm sure you don't have the time for production though.
thousands available already from CHINA
They make this light for Dewalt as well. Great idea!
If you don't plan on using the usb feature its better to gut the circuit board or cut the traces to the 5v converter to save your batteries. The usb charger is always on, it depleated my battery when left connected. Besides that its a good value, also if one wants the light can be swapped out with pretty much any 12-24v automotive light for more output if desired.
DAMN IT!!! We just finished Christmas...now I gotta wait like a whole year to get one.
Tell your wife i said it was ok 😂
COLD! 🤣
What an awesome idea. Great upgrade
Im a sucker for stuff like that definitely ordering one
Looks like they have Dewalt ones on Amazon from the manufacturer as well! Sweet detup
Good comparison
Heck YAA!!! GREAT tool time trick. Inventor s unite!! Trick to charge other stuffs. Better than the one I just Amazond. Still think you could engineer the dual sliding shelves to hinge down from the rafters. Like a attic ladder. Cheers 🍻
Very informative video as always Chris!
Goldarms! Nice! Perfect!😉
Hey Chris, I got the red one for the Milwaukee, used it for a couple minutes and let it sit on my bench for a week attached to a battery......the next time I went to use it my fully charged 5.0 battery was completely dead.
Interesting. Must have a little draw. I'll have to see if that happens to this one as well
you can jump the dead battery with another m18
Yep, anything not made by Milwaukee will allow the battery to go lower than the charger will charge. I’ve had to “jump “ mine a few times when I forget!
Good info. Good to relax with some bowling.
Nice Led LAMP Good.job Nice show
NNKH Project Farm! I like it!
I have a 10 year old black light that looks like you camo one....❤❤❤awesome video
Big difference in price and use ability
Chris an 8 minute video is a tease. You have to record more for a thumbs up little Bro!!!!!
Good stuff!
Lumens would be a better comparison rather than watts. I like,e the idea for the homemade magnetic light I’ll have to give that a look see.
Great video. We have had the Grote for 7 years.Battery still going strong.Use it to take our GS out to do her business almost every day( less use in the summer time of course as it’s light out till 10pm.) We live on an acreage in the foothills of Alberta.Lots of cougars and bears in our area and it lights up a large area so we can see what’s around. Also use it to check on the horses at night. We don’t use the magnet or charge anything with it but it does work well as a work light just set on the ground, fairly stable.I will try the Amazon one out though as I have a gazillion Milwaukee tools.
Could have written same reply-but fron Sask! Lots of coyote and fox here - use it to check horses and 🐔!
I already have something similar. milwaukee already makes a magnetic light that does that.
Nice!
awhhhh I was getting ready for some bowling action and then it just stopped.....
I'll have to talk Jen into doing a bowling live stream with me sometime! That would be fun
@@nnkhmisc Absolutely! You both near got strikes then and you with a nice little bit of spin then that just didnt quite grip at the end! Would be a great watch Chris...Cheers for all the content you and Jen provide..love it all.
Short clips at the end: you get more strikes by sending the ball straight without spin at a slow pace.
Dick? Dick Weber? Is that you?
@@fretworkband3204 Lucas Schnock here, sorry
Need to find a Makita equivalent.
i bought one of those m18 lights last month havent tried it out yet think i got it off temu
I love the junk channel! As an Oregonian, I have opinions on Casey Ladelle though...
good light.
Had my grotesque 4 yrs been a good light can’t complain
Patent that!! 😮 sell it to Milwaukee and everyone else!
that middle pin must be glued down
It's bolted on the bottom and threw bolted on the top.
If Milwaukee made it they'd charge you 3 times what it's worth just for their name on it.
Chinese factories not cheap anymore
@@jcoul1scchinese factories make these and sell em for $20
I like it very nice!!
😢 Not finding this in Sweden 🇸🇪
fyi. i used to work for Grote many years ago.. they pronounce their name as "grow-tee" ...
Thanks
Wonder if the magnet will affect the battery at all, being that it is butted against it?
Great video as always!
Thanks Chris!
Milwaukee does make a mag light but I'm afraid to seethe price though
Oh do they? I looked it up and didn't see one
I’m a lineman and use these. Pricey but magnetic and also has a spring loaded clamp on them too. And uses your m18 batteries.
I bought the same light a few years ago dropped it a few times now it’s junk
Did it again Mr nick MacGyver 😅
I hate those stupid LED lights that do that blinking crap - annoying!
Return that other light!
Plus side you can go magnet with your custom mount.
👍
First!
Thanks for the video!
