Boron is the 5th Element on the periodic table of elements. It is the first of 7 elements known as metalloids, which is something between metal & solid non-metal
It is in the water, the air & the soil & is found in small amounts on meteors
Chemically uncombined boron, or pure boron is not found on earth & is extremely difficult to produce
Trace boron is necessary for all plant life
Boric acid, which comes from boron is used as a very effective insecticide for insects that are susceptible, like colony or grooming insects

I am a physician of Internal Medicine. We have successfully deployed boric acid vaginal suppositories for years. The reason we moved into that field was because the preponderance of the peer review empirical evidence shows that it OUT PERFORMS ALL THE MEDS!
Moreover, the mechanism is excellent: As it kills the bad guys, it simultaneously promotes the growth of good bacteria - that bacteria that wards off the bad ones!
In our view, you just can't beat it!
It usually takes about 10 days of treatment (one 600 mg suppository capsule inserted in the morning and another in the evening) to wipe out the infection. If the problem returns, a repeated course of treatment of two to three days might be needed. Treatment for current yeast infections with boric acid suppositories requires that one capsule be inserted as deeply as possible into the vagina in the morning and evening for about five to ten days; women who suffer from recurrent yeast infections may use one capsule vaginally at bedtime twice weekly for prevention beginning one week after menstruation.

I believe it is an extremely powerful and exciting door! UC Davis has a terrific Family Nurse Practitioner program. You can continue to develop into additional areas of specificity if you feel a particular 'calling' over time.
I can tell you that in medicine the very MOST important issues is your legal prerogatives! And NP's have many in the State of California, (dispensing meds, and do not need an MD to countersign medical patient charts). Those legal prerogatives are the single most important issues PERIOD!

I was taking Boron in order to increase my free testosterone (which it provably does). I noticed that it cured the arthritis I had in my fingers. Suddenly I could open water bottles without pain any more. I had forgotten that boron was known to relieve arthritis pain. So it definitely was not a placebo effect...

Boric acid cured my chronic yeast infections.
It took me many decades to read about treating athlete's foot with boric acid. I had used the expensive anti-fungal creams for years and at best they gave temporary relief. A 1/4 to 1/2 a teaspoon of boric acid in each of my shoes and I've never been bothered with athlete's foot again. I recently had conjunctivitis and was reading that you should never mix a boric acid solution as an eye wash because it's just too dangerous. Yet I have an ancient container (4oz for 49 cents) that says to mix a teaspoon to a pint of boiled water as an eye wash. It seems to me that we're being discouraged from using cheap and effect remedies in favor of expensive, less effective remedies that require continued use and profit a few. I've developed an allergy to neomycin/neosporin containing products so I have had to go back to using old tried and true methods. If I cut or scrape myself I now use iodine/betadyne and I have found it's far more effective at preventing an infection than the antibiotic creams ever were. If I remember correctly, it seems like I read that one would have to ingest twice as much salt as boric acid to receive a fatal dose and that made me start questioning just how toxic boric acid really is. I know that it's said to cause kidney damage but so too does alcohol consumption and most prescription drugs so it seems it has more to do with what pharmaceutical companies want us to believe and what's socially acceptable than it is about what's really more dangerous.

Omg this just reminded me of a presentation I saw as a high schooler. A local doctor showed us about the magical, effective wonder of mixing iodine and salt for very severe wound control. Apparently there were people with terrible wounds who weren't healing well or there would be lots of issues with their healing. But when u use iodine and salt I can't remember the proportion. The patients healed super fast and no infections. The guy literally started crying while giving us this testimony. It worked miracles for these ppl Apparently. It is true that doctors aren't really taught the tried and true because our sold out government and medical and medicine industry as a whole is hell bent on us being sick. So I think this discovery for him of real solutions for healing was pretty intense.

@@orcoastgreenman ....99% Boric acid is found in Roach Away (Wal Mart, I think). My Mom had used it successfully for years to eliminate roaches where ever we lived. I never thought about adding it to shoes to treat or prevent athlete's foot fungus. Let us know if it works for you.
I can say with one hundred percent certainty that Boric acid absolutely destroys cock roaches. Years ago I had a small infestation in my kitchen. While looking at some black flag and other products I found a huge squirt bottle of powdered Boric acid and decided to give it a try. I've never saw another Roach. I've kept small piles in corners and out of the way places and to this day, I never see any insects. Period!

My Mom and I both have used it for years to kill cockroaches. She always mixed it with 3/4 Roach Away/ or Roach Proof (Wal Mart) with 1/4 powder sugar to attract the roaches to eat it faster and bring it back to their nests for all baby roaches to eat. It may take a couple of weeks to eliminate them but it does work.

I had a horrible flea infestation in carpet years ago. Having previously worked for an entomologist & been given a recipe to rid my kitchen of cockroaches by mixing boric acid and flour with a little bit of water to form small marble size balls and roll behind the stove frig and under the sink, I decided to follow another recipe for fleas. I purchased a $2 bottle of boric acid with a spout to dust the carpet and baseboards. After vacuuming really well, I dusted the baseboards and carpet with it and then swept all into the nap of the carpet where the flea larvae hide, and did not vacuum again for 10 days. After the 10 day period I vacuumed again very well. Don't forget to empty the vacuum bag outside both times. Problem solved. So I can vouch for it working on both, first hand. Never had another issue with fleas nor cockroaches. You're welcome.

I have been taking a pinch of it in my glasses of water for quite a few years now for my arthritis & now I am wondering how much worse it might be if I wasn't taking the boron as I still get a lot of pain etc & have often wondered whether it was worth taking but somehow the thought that it might be worse keeps me taking it. Besides a little bit goes a heck of a long way...

I have remodeled a number of kitchens over the years and I often would put boric acid in opened walls and under cabinetry. Some of the places had a lot of cockroaches. The clients would tell me years later that the roaches didn't come back.

I used 10mg boron capsules by opening them and applying a small amount of the powder directly to a stubborn infection surrounding a dental implant.The implant infection had also spread to a sinus cavity. I sniffed a very small amount through the nostril on that side and it immediately made me sneeze. Bottom line.. within a couple days, there was no more inflammation , pain, or putrid discharge at either infected site. I used boron citrate, if that is of interest as a factor. There are some researchers that recommend ingesting as much as 80 milligrams for autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. The dose found in health food stores of 2-3 mg is not enough to be effective when ingesting it. I haven’t seen anyone else using it the way I have for implant or sinus infections, but I think it may be worthy of further study. Again… I used only a few grains of the powder and it brought fast results.
I recently had a bone graph to later get an implant and I have an infection affecting my sinus and swelling in my cheek. Antibiotics aren’t working where did you get the capsules?
I too had an implant for twenty years and my gum started bleeding around the implant so l went to the dentist and the xrays showed l had lost over 50% of my bone so l am in the process of having had my implant removed and a bone graft and waiting for a new implant. My dentist says he is seeing lots of this happening with implants.

@@keinohrtini I believe an eighth teaspoon (1/8 tsp) per 100 lb of body weight one time a day for about 3 weeks max then one week off.
Generally I just put a pinch on my food when I remember it. I am overdue for a regular regimen.
I can't say definitely it helped because I can't afford to have any kind of testing done except to say it can alter bowel movements by slight increase in size and weight.

@Nancy Doggett that's way too much. It's a trace mineral. I mix 1 teaspoon in a quart of distilled water and take 1 teaspoon of that once and a while, some people take 1 teaspoon of the mixture everyday.
The Navy came up with a recipe for stopping dry rot on docks (it's a fungus). It's boric acid, borax, and glycol (as found in the more expensive nontoxic RV antifreeze). It worked on my 1872 log cabin.
That is amazing but I've never heard of a non-toxic antifreeze

I use it in the bilge of my very old wooden boat.
The only problem indicated was, borax or its derivatives wash away. However, if you can impregnate the wood with it, then seal the wood, it will perform long term.
Using it under a house it will deter termites, and since it's sheltered, will not wash away, baring a broken water pipe [or worse].

Great video! Boron is needed for us to be healthy. It is one of the ignored minerals we need (like vanadium, molybdenum, gold and silver) in small amounts. I use borax in a foot soak with Epsom salts and sea salt. It has helped my teeth and bones strengthen. it is one item I will always have in my house for health, laundry and my garden. It makes sense why plants need boron since they can use it for insect control. Thank you for this video. Have a wonderful 2023.

No, I never drank any! Just apply the water-boric acid solution to the surface of the skin and it will kill most funguses.@@Bambotb For a glass of water, a tablespoon of boric acid powder (or as much as you can get to dissolve in the glass is all you need. It will never harm your skin, unless you have extremely sensitive skin. Try a small area first, just to be sure that it doesn't have any adverse effect. I have used it for many years as an anti-fungal applicant. Also, if you put a little powder in your shoes, it will keep them smelling fresh. It has a lot of uses that you can Google.

My mother would mix 1/3 amounts of powered sugar, flower, and boric acid to kill roaches, which she could not stand. She was an old school nurse, took her training in the 1930's, they used it for all kinds of treatments. Thanks for all the info, this is very good stuff.

the stars aligned finally this month and I got to stop in the 20 Mule Team Borax / Boron mine! Definitely worth the stop in! Super informative, the view is spectacular and deeper into the earth than most people ever see. There are piles of the raw crystals they dig up, free for the taking in the parking lot. (rock hounds!!)

I have taken Borax internally for years ,And have used it in my bath. Never had any issues.
I was having trouble with pink eye. My primary care was reluctant to give me the little tube of ointment I had used before--for some reason. She suggested I just wash my eyes with soap and water. As if I *would* bring it up if I hadn't tried simple common sense approaches-huh! I thought about it a little more and remembered my grandmother's older sister, a nurse, used to make an eye wash with a little boric acid in water. So I ordered a glass eye cup, and some boric acid. I mixed 1/4 tsp of boric acid in 1 cup of boiled water and let it cool. I used this as an eye wash before bedtime and it worked very well in a very short amount of time.

Growing up, we always had a tube of Borofax (5% Boric acid in lanolin) on hand for healing minor cuts or abrasions. It's truly amazing how fast healing occurs with just a tiny amount on the injury. When GSK stopped selling Borofax, my Mom drove to several drugs stores to buy up all the tubes they had left!
Old remedies are the best, and most natural. My grandfather would work in the orchard, and if he cut himself, he would simply wrap it in cloth and back to work. I think being in nature makes a huge difference

I watched a video about using it for wasps 18 months ago. My dads property/barns always had at least 8-10 wasp nests/year. I was always afraid to look through the barn in the summer.

Idk if you mention it but since you pointed out permethrin is oil soluble, I put pure concentrate into vaseline and then stuffed every carpenter bee hole I could find on the barn with that Vaseline. In the next week I found about 20 Vaseline covered bees on the ground. The next season I saw a couple more, and since then I've only seen a handful that I think we're from somewhere else and just looking for a home. But I haven't seen any of them coming from the barn area. they were so bad I would go out with a tennis racket (I called it "Bees-ercise") and wack them into the wall and run and stomp them... I could get 20-40 per night. Now they are gone and that damage to the barn has been stopped. My dad died a year ago, I wish he could have seen how much your information helped!!! Anyway, I doubt you will see this and I'm sorry for rambling... but I can't thank you enough!!!

Hey wingnut when i was a kid i had eczema on my feet and the doctor had me soak my feet in water and boric acid powder as hot as I could stand for 15min once a day, then dry my feet and coat with bacitracin or triamycin and it cured it
I have occasional problems here in south Florida with fat-eating ants overrunning my kitchen. I take a few ounces of raw bulk breakfast sausage and mix the fatty meat thoroughly with borax. Ants show up promptly and start carrying the tainted meat away. Occasionally I’ll have to repeat this but usually once is enough to make the ants disappear after several days. Borax is cheaper and easier to get here than boric acid.
Unfortunately, Doc, there is a noticeable lack of that common sense stuff today. Great video, thank you.

Fascinating video! In ceramics we use Borax to bring out more color in oxides. It's also a frit (powder that becomes part of the vitreous/glass on glazed pieces in the kiln, forming a glossy layer that also binds well enough to the surface of the piece that it can withstand being nuked.) which makes it a good addition for functional glazes.
Great episode. I have been using a mix of 1 part Borax and 5 parts white sugar in a water base to where it is thick and viscous. Then soaking cotton balls and dropping the balls on fire ant beds. Within a week the ants in that ant hill are all dead. Great fire ant control method. But does leave cotton balls around the yard, which a lawn mower will soon get rid of. The only downside is sticky fingers!
I poke a hole in the center of the mound and pour a large pot(turkey fryer size preferably) of boiling water into the mound. Usually kills it with one application, sometimes it takes a second. I have also poured a gallon bottle of ammonia into one and covered the mound with a large bowl to trap the vapors. That is almost as effective as the boiling water. I don't use conventional insecticides at all, they bother me more than the bugs, both interpretations of that phrase before anyone asks. 🤔🤓🍻

Thanks for the ratio. Last year I poked holes near the bottom of a plastic container (with lid) and desolved the borax in warm water. Then added sugar and set it in the vicinity of cat food bowls. The ants crawled into the holes and took the borax back to where they came from. I had forgotten the ratio, now I can do it again. Starting to see a few ants.
Great informative video! I learned so much about Borax/Boron. I've seen others where people do ingest a borax mixture for health purpose, in small quantities. Good to know you can eat it in large quantities and probably get indigestion only. Loved this video, will be coming back to this channel!
People have been using it as a health supplement for centuries. Modern pharma says it’s a poison to boost their patentable profits. Salt and pepper and acetaminophen is a poison too if taken in greater quantities.

Good stuff, thanks. I had (and have) a tendency to eye infections. Mother swabbed my eyes with cotton balls soaked in warm water plus boric acid. But when I grew up and tried to buy some at the pharmacy here in New Zealand they acted like I was shopping for Sarin. I favour boric acid over borax in this application because it has limited solubilty. So it self regulates the concentration. Just add enough to 50 ml warm water so there is still some solid left. Works a treat

@@happy.homestead Use about as much as you would use salt to salt your eggs, a pinch of salt (borax).
To be technical, maintenance dose (minimum daily requirement) is often said to be about 3 mg of elemental boron. I have found that you have to take 3 times that much, or more (at least 10 mg of elemental boron), to affect arthritis if you are having symptoms. Borax has only about 11% of elemental boron, so the amount of borax would be on the order of 100mg of borax. Salt is more toxic than Borax, so you can use that as a rule of thumb. Use a pinch, as you would use a pinch of salt...

Boric Acid will NOT kill; Ticks, bedbugs, lice, spiders, beetles, flies, fleas or moths
It will kill termites but you must get them to eat it, usually mixed in something they want like water but they MUST eat it.
Boric acid will dehydrate and thereby kill any termite that touches it but it is difficult to get it on all of them.
A more effective solution is this video KILL EVERY INSECT that touches this ON CONTACT... wet or dry. Lasts up to 90 days.

I can attest to the fact that boric acid kills cockroaches better than anything on the market that I've found. You can spend six bucks on a bottle of boric acid powder or spend $12-20 on popular name brand home perimeter pest control sprays. A cheap bottle of boric acid powder does a better job every time. I've used it for over 10 years now. I knew about the eye drops and eye flush but I didn't realize all these other uses. I appreciate the info. Thank you

Borax makes watermelons taste amazing. It's one thing to add to the soil to make melons sweeter and more enjoyable, just don't use too much or it will stunt growth.

Easy to mix them up, I've done it many times myself.
We don't have a lot of problems with cockroaches here in North Central Washington. However, some years back, I had to boot a farm hand. The house was horrible. They hadn't done dishes in ages and left piles of laundry everywhere. The roaches were taking over.
Fortunately, we bought boric acid by the 40 pound bag for farming purposes. After I hauled everything off, I spread several pounds of boric acid under cabinets, the fridge and the stove. A few weeks in and the roaches were all dead.

Borates via Boric Acid in swimming pool water, at a level of 50 to 80 parts per million, is used as a pH Stabilizer and as an Algae-stat
Also, boron in it’s purer state, is the premier material used in very high end phonograph transducers, aka phone cartridges. It is used to make the very small cantilever that connects the diamond tip to the coils (usually) that then move in proximity to small powerful magnets to produce the electronic signal from the record player or turntable. Boron is ideal as it is very strong, stiff and light weight (low moving mass) with very low resonance properties as well. Of course it is very expensive to make such small and very precise parts like these from boron. Such phono cartridges are always priced it the thousands of dollars with a few microscopically made pieces coming out of laboratories costing in the five figure range! Good work if you can get it.

Germany has used boron for arthritis for over40 years. Doctors there say it is successful for pain relief from arthritis 75% of patients. Most people are deficient in Boron. Especially people over 50 years old.
Thank you for this video! You can mix it with powdered sugar, put in a small jar on its side along the wall of your house if you have ants coming in. I saw a video that also said to mix some with water in one container and leave some dry in another container. It seemed to work pretty well for me, but ants can be relentless and they're back this year. I'll have to get some more set out.
You can also sprinkle
" Dicomose Earth "along the house to keep ants away !
(I don't think I spelt it right) but it work well can also sprinkle on pet food for a natural dewormer and other pests . I also use D.E for my chickens in a dust bath and in their food!
When you use it don't breath in any of the dust it's like shards of micro glass !
The 'stache alone gets my vote, and always with borax in the house.
Silver soldering and brazing of metals cannot be done without boric acid. Copper can be joined by a copper/Phosphorous alloy but not other metals. It excludes the oxygen from the air which prevents wetting of the solder. Boric acid cleans and allows fillet flow and capillary action.

You're wrong about fleas, they worked wonderfully when I got a new dog and entire house got infested with flea. Bought 4 boxes of detergents Borox powder poured all over the carpets, flooring, sheets, nooks and crannies, and waited about a month or so before I vacuumed everything up and no more fleas again. I did this method because I tried the flea bombs, and other flea treatments products and those fleas just kept coming back.
Might be a coincidence. I think we should trust the scientific method
I think maybe you should have vacuumed 24 hours after the application then repeating bi-weekly until gone.

My credentials in a moment. First, "apparently", roaches can smell boric acid, though some 'experts' disagree. So the trick is to cover the smell in a bait they will eat. When I first got my house, I went thru a couple of very expensive exterminator visits. Enough already. I asked a retired pest controller if I could get some concentrated poison and he laughed at me. "Won't work," he said, "that crap doesn't work!" Then he told me the secret: Bacon drippings hide the smell of boric acid. Formula: Boric acid + peanut butter + bacon drippings. I instead used baked chicken drippings and it worked fine and super fast. DANGER: If you don't grind the mixture to totally get rid of all the little boric acid bits (they look like little BBs in the peanut butter mix), all you'll have is BAIT, and that'll make your roach problem worse. Keep adding boric acid 'til the mixture is kind of stiff, then apply a half-teaspoon here and there. Lasts for years! CAUTION: Hide from dogs, they'll eat it. Indoor/Outdoor use. BTW, any outdoor grill is a roach magnet (drippings on ground). Also any lumber or woodpiles sitting on ground (moisture underneath attracts them). Now my credentials. After my bad experience with exterminator, just out of curiousity I studied pest control thru a major university and got licensed as a PC. Used this formula above with many clients- all very successfully- then got bored with the biz and quit.

Nothing boring about boron! We were rather poor growing up, so whenever I got a cold in my eye, my mother would mix an eight of a teaspoon of boric acid in a cup of boiling water. She mixed it and let it cool. Then she would take cotton soaked in the mixture and bath my eyes with it. Within a day or two my eyes were open fully and no more eye cold and crusty.🙏👍👍👍

Awesome! I been meaning to buy some of this and re-watch your hornet killing video for mixing instructions. Boron is an interesting element; I remember my organic chem professor always briefly saying how it had some strange characteristics and how it behaved (the electrons and so forth). It makes sense for it to have many uses and desirable affects because as an element it is only 1 proton away from Carbon. Saying Carbon is a crucial element is an understatement. All organic live has to have carbon right?

I have a 1KG container of BORAX Disodium TetraBorate Decahydrate Which I bought to use as a welding flux some time ago. On Hazard statements (UK) says: May damage fertility. May damage the unborn child.

They fed RATS, MASSIVE amounts of borax.
Male rats mostly, became infertile and it was detected in other internal organs.
You would have to eat your weight in borax to equal the test parameters.
Scientists around the world felt that the test parameters were so flawed that no one would take the time to duplicate the test for obvious reasons.
The U.K. still decided to ban it... even though it is a natural element ON THE PERIODIC TABLE!!
That's like banning SALT because it can cause heart disease or Acetaminophen (Tylenol) because it is a registered poison.
It is truly odd because boric acid was also banned in the action.

I clean everything in my house with it, because I thought it might be safer then common chemical cocktails and it works so much better.....( Try it on your oven burners and trays) It's a brand that my grandmother and grandfather loved and used most of their lives, and they lived a long time..after this, I'm gonna check into buying their stock. I mix borax with sugar to make ant bait, about half teaspoon.. too much in and it wont reach the queeen..
I also use it to stave off all the bone and joint problems it protects against. Very effective with vit d and magnesium.
