I bet if you talked to that guy driving the boat. He would tell you he is the best boat driver in the 5 state area. You just can't fix stupid. After the first wave goes over the front normal people start asking questions.
Watched 7 people drown in Lake Erie a number of years ago in a bowrider during a storm between Kelly and Mouse islands. It was just too rough for anyone to help. We were taking 6-7 ft waves over the bow and bailing like crazy. They all washed up on the beach later that night. Never ever catch me in a bowrider.
For those saying that they're trash parents or whatever, thousands of kids go through there on different sized boats. Unfortunately this one was just too small of a boat for those conditions. The young ones had life jackets on (Yes one not fully zipped which was an oversight for sure) and there were more on board I'm sure. Certainly not the ideal situation. Could have been catastrophic, but they lived and learned like we all do at some point in our lives. Open alcohol is permitted on boats in Florida so long as the captain isn't drinking and above the legal limit. Seriously doubt She was trying to avoid a ticket by dumping the liquid. She likely just wanted to get the drink outta the way so she could prepare for whatever was next. The adults responded with hesitation, but seriously, what would you do? Takes a few seconds to process what's going on and how to react. Clearly not experienced boaters. Live and learn.
I remember this story, the parents/adults in this situation were clearly drunk it's sad that alcohol is more important than children's lives. Plus he wasn't even suppose to be going that fast in a wake zone
Not a wake zone. Weren’t going fast. Just bad judgement in a bowrider. On a moving tide this happens about every 2 hours at this inlet. Not a story. Just a regular display on idiocy
@drdrew3 people just assume facts to support their position. Still under power trim the bow high wait for the bilge pump to do its job or if it's a foamed in bilge for the water to run out. Reverse with a bow full of water is stupid. As far as drinking the only one who has to be sober is whomever is piloting the boat but everyone is making a big deal out of it. I do have life safety concerns, when underway kids always wear life jackets though it's not required on my boat and in that boat I believe it's required (can't tell the actual length or make). The usual stupidity of running an inlet without knowledge of the waters it seems
These kids deserve better adults

Those children will be petrified to ever go near a boat again...thanks captain
Highly doubtful... and there is no captain...
not everyones kids are little wimps like yours. The kids will be fine.
My thoughts exactly! Looking at the boy clinging for his life at the back! He may never trust them again, on a single thing!
Looked like fun for the kids
Don’t even talk about taking a bath.
I love the way the bow is plowing under water with every wave and he just stays in the throttle until it completely submarines
well first off get the kids weight off the bow, and also isn't the problem that he stayed in idle and should've had the throttle up so he can raise the bow?
@@detectiveandy6323 he should have reduced throttle because with the weight on the bow it’s just plowing down and pulling water into the bilges
He doesn't think it could sink. De-Nile ain't just a river in Egypt.
Так и катайтесь так! Но речь идет о детях! Они подвергнуты опасности. Не соблюдены меры безопасности.
Actually he should have gotten into the throttle AFTER having everyone move toward the stern. The bilge pumps are usually in the rear of the boat and by getting into the throttle the water would have shifted to the stern. The idiot screaming “put it in reverse” was giving absolutely the wrong instructions.
-"Put it in Reverse! Put it in Reverse!"
-"I can't, I'll spill my beer!"
I like how the father just leaves the boat in drive and runs up to try and keep his kids from going overboard as the nose dives under.
“That’s when I realized my dad is the stupidest man in the world”

Typical "JERSEY-FAMILY"...
That kid will never go near water again. He's traumatized for life, thinking he was going to die.

I wouldn't go

Them covid boaters gotta love them 🙄
That kid in the front sure took the brunt of those waves !He got trashed!😵💫

One thing that I have found out is the best way to sink a boat is to fill it up with water.
(Unless it's a Boston whaler)
And the best way to put your family in dangerous to Sink your boat.
Many years ago my friend told me that all boats need a bucket.
Now you see why.
So much bad advice in one comment. Congrats “captain”

Horrible parents, mom in the back of the boat and doesn’t care that her sons are about to drown? Some people are idiots as parents
Oh stop, I wouldn’t call them horrible parents, they had life vests on. Also the Nj state police marine barracks are literally on the canal about 30 seconds from where this happened.
@@jamesps7515 that’s like saying, “I’m not a horrible parent for driving drunk with my kid in the car, he had a seatbelt on” ….as a parent, you should never put your kid in a position where they can get pop off the boat and swept under a boat that’s moving. This is boating 101 with kids, the simple fact they had all those people on this little ass boat riding hard into choppy waves let me know all about the parenting skills…topping of course is mom emptying her beer while not attending to her kids that are scared and crying
Ah yes we can tell their entire family tree just from the video
No they aren’t parents just drunk idiots .
Everyone is going in on the Mom. There was a grown man sitting up front with the kids. How come you all not calling him out me just asking
And this is why everyone should have to take a course and pass a test to drive a boat just like a car. And be able to lose the license just like a car.
The captains dedication to stuffing the front of the boat is amazing.
That nose dove under 11 times before they did anything! 11 TIMES!!!!!
Bowriding at its’ best!!! Always best to point bow straight to bottom…
I counted 9
Gives a whole new meaning to “dropping the kids off at the pool”……..
That’s why there are limits as to how many people you can have on boats. Newby to boating for sure !!!
Number of people is to estimate . You really need to figure weight . 8 kids is way different than 8 Rosie O’ddonells
@@mikeschuler2946on a 20ft or less mono "single" hull boat you go by the manufacturer weight capacity plate including ppl, gear & motor! now if the plate is missing which would be illegal in most states you can use the coast guards recomended formula multiply the length × width then divide by 15 would give the number of occupants based on 150lbs ea
@@nevadaboy9769 and if you have half a brain will cut that number in half if going into extremely rough water relative to the boat you are in. They had that thing loaded and riding damn low to start, then didn't get weight out of the bow, then decided throttle it into the waves...just dumbasses.

Hold my beer? Not. But the boat didn't sink, probably the double hull which allows more buoyancy helped a bit. Ah, Floridians...
Putting these kids in danger. These parents should be sent to jail
Shut up
This is why you should have to pass some sort of test to operate a boat 🤦♂️
Watched 7 people drown in Lake Erie a number of years ago in a bowrider during a storm between Kelly and Mouse islands. It was just too rough for anyone to help. We were taking 6-7 ft waves over the bow and bailing like crazy. They all washed up on the beach later that night. Never ever catch me in a bowrider.
Heartbreaking
She dumps her beer out knowing that’s “mom gear” is about to kick in!😂
She's way late, mom gear should a kicked in 3 stuffings ago
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
Not even close she dumped her beer because “drunk idiot is worried more about getting in trouble instead of her kids lives”gear has already kicked in
I remember this story, the parents/adults in this situation were clearly drunk it's sad that alcohol is more important than children's lives. Plus he wasn't even suppose to be going that fast in a wake zone
I hope the kids made it out of there….
Дети живыми остались? Надеюсь 😢
That scream was the little guy in the front getting washed away; his scream was cut off by the wave washing over him. 😠
That sip of beer was actually ballast keeping them level. That's the crime here.
Um absurdo colocar a vida dessas pessoas em risco altíssimo, principalmente crianças.
