    Axel, you should tell your audiance that they should be careful with doctors when having private health insurance. I believe they will try to take advantage of that.
    I did some pretty standard routine blood check-up, they charged me 400 euros for that. 1 visit, results sent via email. The private health insurance, hallesches, only gave me back 75 euros, they claimed 400 euros was abnormally high for a blood check-up.

    If you can afford to pay 600 plus EURO per month then get PRIVATE Insurance. In our case public insurance ( AOK) 360.87 Euro per month.

      If you pay 360€/month for public insurance, then your real premium is 720€/month because of the 50% employer bonus. So your public health insurance premium is more expensive than your private health insurance premium would be.

    Hey Axel, do you have data for how is the premium increasing with time in the private? This is an argument I hear all the time that the private will increase the premiums a lot in the future.

      Great question! We compared public health insurance vs private health insurance premiums in retirement in this video: th-cam.com/video/NdsDnM4jc74/w-d-xo.html
      In a nutshell: Good private health insurance plans with a good quality tend to be very stable with ±0,5% increase per year. That is a lot less than the +3,2% PUBLIC health insurance increase from 2004 - 2024.

    In case of a very bad accident or an unexpected chronic disease (cancer, Alzheimer) which insurance would be better?

    • @PerFinEx
      @PerFinEx  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Public health insurance only covers what is in the "catalogue of coverage" with doctors that accept public health insurance. In the private health insurance you can choose the treatments and doctors you like best yourself. So definitely private!

      @@PerFinEx thanks for your answer. But does that mean that one would to choose lots and lots of different kind of treatments in order to be cover against unexpected eventualities?

    Public Insurance covers also if i go[or happens to be] in other europe union country hospital?? (Greece for exaple)

      In public health insurance you might be insured outside of Germany if your health insurance gives your the European Health Insurance Card. In private you are usually insured in Europe for an unlimited amount of time and outside of Europe for at least a couple of months.

    What if you want to bring your parents from a 3rd country as your dependents in the new family reunion program while you’re on the private health insurance?

    • @PerFinEx
      @PerFinEx  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Parents are covered neither in the public health insurance nor in the private health insurance. Public health insurance only offers family insurance for kids and spouses if they have no income. Therefore, your parents have to get their own health insurance independent of your health insurance situation.

      @@PerFinEx I kind of suspected that to be the case. In that scenario, what do you think would be the formula/how much do you envisage that they might be made to pay as they’ll be in their late 60s/early 70s?

    Hi, I plan to leave Germany after having citizenship : the whole process would take a year at least. Do you have any advice if I should switch to private insurance and what can I do to not put much money here .... maybe I would think of returning after some years 10, 15 it depends ! Can you also talk about the possibility to work as a German here in Germany but with home office live in another country. thanks a lot

      Call center agent in Germany is hiring work from home with salary 2,500 plus a month. Search online. But you must speak German.

    If you're on private and become unemployed, can you stay private if you pay the contributions yourself?

      if you retire in germany, public is almost always the better option since the contribution will be a % of your pension instead of the fixed price which is higher, if you dont plan on staying in germany private is definitely the better option for having better coverage and being cheaper as a high earner
