I don’t think Jake was overlooked back in the day. When I first started playing, he was very much one of the elite players. Being in that bubble and my ego not allowing me to hear what non players said was probably why I don’t I don’t think he was ever overlooked, especially once Badlands came out. He was always up there with DeMartini and Lynch. Not quite Eddie level but not far behind. Same with John Sykes.
Ozzy made a mistake when his wife fired Jake. He then got lucky with Zakk. Of these 3 players for Ozzy, I love them all. Jake’s stuff is the most fun to play when you get it right. Yeah, Jake probably is the best.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Saw jake on the bark at the moon and ultimate sin tours. His riffs and leads were exceptional... phenomenal guitar player without a doubt. Still have a pick he gave me before soundcheck in Nottingham in 86.
I have one from Dublin Ireland in 86. It is shocking neon pink! Caught it as he floated it into the crowd. Nearly had my arm broken and shoulder dislocated getting it lol!
Back in the 80s, Jake was my hero - my friends were all over Randy and Zakk, but Jake always stood out with these interesting inventive techniques that just never seemed to catch on with other players. I learned a lot and my playing was heavily inspired by Jake. You are the only one I’ve seen that plays this stuff right! And makes it sound right. I’m in my 50s and learning so much from you specifically on how you break down Jake’s riffs and solos.
Cameron is straight to the point the man knows his s*** subscribe and go back and look at some of this stuff he is absolutely phenomenal in covering gear and his techniques
Cameron you're one of the best guitar players I've ever heard. And I've been playing guitar for 35 years. You are definitely blessed. Thank you for sharing your talents with everybody.
Well done for keeping Jake's riffs in the public consciousness and working them all out Cameron. Good job! Saw him with Badlands in 1992 lovely guy and great show.
DUDE! Just last week I got on a flight and downloaded bark at the moon on spotify to listen to while offline and remembered your older Jake E. Lee videos! What a coinkydink. Love the way you actually capture all the "hidden" nuance of Jake's riffing and condense it videos like these
Jake. One of the most monstrously great players to come out of the 80’s Seeing him on the 1984 BATM tour was literally life changing Great Vid Cameron 👍
Jake loves these stretchy licks, which he never really got the respect he deserved an incredible guitarist especially joining Ozzy right after Randy Rhoads death couldn't have been an easy task and he did it .
So glad to see you using the EVH guitar for playing some cool tunes. It was because of you (and your reviews) I also bought an EVH-Wolfgang Special black stealth
Great stuff, love it. Randy and Jake were my favorites back in those days, actually they still are, what am I talking about. Ultimate Sin and Tribute were my 2 non stop listening albums in the 80s and Jake's solo in Suicide Solution on the Bark at the Moon tour live video, unreal.
Hey! Sounds great! As an old (french) guy who witnessed those great guitar players from the 80's I'm always amazed to see young players still digging these (often forgotten) heroes from that era. Jake e Lee blew me away the 1st time I saw him live with Ozzy at the US festival. What a blast! Keep on the good works Cameron, You look like a cool humble guy, and an excellent musician.
Never is a really great Ozzy/Jake tune that no one talks about! It's one of those songs that sounds kind of easy to play but isn't. Thanks for the lesson!
I have to agree with you that Jake was the best guitarist for me on the Ozzy albums. Jake just had something else that the other guitarist didn't have. I loved Randy but I prefer Jake. Nice video man. Greetings out of South Africa.
Ozzy had always the best guitarists. I agree with you, Cameron, that Jake stands out. I love everything he did with Ozz. Thanks for this great walkthrough here!
Jake E. Lee is my favorite Ozzy guitarist. Thanks for showing these riffs. If I'm not wrong, I think he uses 24.5 scale on his Charvels. That helps with those stretches.
Great riffs! My personal favorites are Killer of Giants and Shot in the Dark, (Jake didn't really write "Shot in the Dark", but he wrote most of the guitar parts to the song).
Dude I agree, Jake is my favorite Oz guitarist as well! And Badlands first 2 albums are some of the most underrated albums of that era! I rank both 10 out of 10.
Jake is a very important guitarist. When I was 14 I heard Bark at the moon….and was aware of Randy. The positive impact was that I realized he was not competing with Randy but building a parallel path and this was a revelation for me. Saw him live and BEST on stage moves ever hahahaha
Really love Jake's playing and this video is awesome to have! I have no idea if this has been covered in another video of yours, but I'd love to see how Jake's "atomic bomb" technique (at least that's what I call it) is done. It's around the 3:25 mark of Thank God for the Bomb. It sounds so killer.
George Lynch (Who is my guitar hero) has a really great exercise to help you to achieve such long stretches between multiple frets and it really does work!👍😉
Jake E Lee for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Absolutely! 🤘😎🤘
For me, Ultimate Sin still absolutely kills. Jake was on fire. Great stuff here, Cameron.
Thank God for the Bomb.
Indeed. Such a killer album with tremendous work by Jake.
Of the studio albums, got to be my favourite Ozzy album.
Super creative and melodic too. Such a moody album.
The outro on Never Know Why just can’t be played loud enough for me. But then I feel that way about pretty much anything Jake plays.
I agree, and some reason Ozzy thought it was the worst.
MORE JAKE E LEE RIFFS PLEASE!!!
Jake was so overlooked.. loved his playing!
I don’t think Jake was overlooked back in the day. When I first started playing, he was very much one of the elite players. Being in that bubble and my ego not allowing me to hear what non players said was probably why I don’t I don’t think he was ever overlooked, especially once Badlands came out. That Killer of Giants solo was fucking amazing! My favorite Jake solo from The Ultimate Sin. Thanks for playing it so well Cameron.
Absolutely love Jake E Lee. The Man simply jams and pumped out great riff after riff !!!!
Jake and Randy are definitely in my all-time 10 favs '. Thanks for this great lesson, keep 'em comin' !
Saw jake on the bark at the moon and ultimate sin tours. His riffs and leads were exceptional... phenomenal guitar player without a doubt. Still have a pick he gave me before soundcheck in Nottingham in 86.
Ah mate, so jealous!
I have one from Dublin Ireland in 86. It is shocking neon pink! Caught it as he floated it into the crowd. Nearly had my arm broken and shoulder dislocated getting it lol!
Someone who loves Ultimate Sin as much as I do. Love it. Such an underrated record.
My first concert ever was in Minneapolis Met Center with Ozzy (featuring Jake E. Lee) Ultimate Sin tour 1986. Was an epic show!!
Back in the 80s, Jake was my hero - my friends were all over Randy and Zakk, but Jake always stood out with these interesting inventive techniques that just never seemed to catch on with other players. Jake had so much energy in his playing. 👌🙌
Never clicked on a Cameron cooper video quicker before than this
Cameron is straight to the point the man knows his s*** subscribe and go back and look at some of this stuff he is absolutely phenomenal in covering gear and his techniques
@@danielcordovado8230 I've been watching him for that long too, since 8, years ago already
Hey Cameron I would love you to do an in-depth blessing on the solo from the song title track The Ultimate Sin.
Right! lol
Once you get past the fing ads
Cameron you're one of the best guitar players I've ever heard. And I've been playing guitar for 35 years. You are definitely blessed. Thank you for sharing your talents with everybody.
Definitely my favorite Ozzy guitarist!
Well done for keeping Jake's riffs in the public consciousness and working them all out Cameron. Good job! Saw him with Badlands in 1992 lovely guy and great show.
Those 2 finger tapped glissando slides in the "Killer of Giants" solo get me every time. 👍
Jake E. Lee is thee best ozzy guitarist.
So glad you played rock and roll rebel, great tune!!
FANTASTIC!!! I LOVE ALL THE 3 SONGS. JAKE E LEE IS A UNIC GUITARRIST,. THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO AND THE CLASS.
I'm going to argue! That first Badlands album is nothing but awesomeness. Bit more bluesy maybe, but riffs for days.
Agreed!!!
That Badlands album was SO damned good. I haven't listened to it in years, so that's exactly what I'm going to go do!
Voodoo Highway was even better imo.
Brilliant observation Cam! I loved the Jake E. Lee albums. I also loved Badlands.
Jake is my favorite of the Ozzy guitarists too... the most interesting.
DUDE! Just last week I got on a flight and downloaded bark at the moon on spotify to listen to while offline and remembered your older Jake E. Lee videos! What a coinkydink. Love the way you actually capture all the "hidden" nuance of Jake's riffing and condense it videos like these
Great video man! Jake doesn’t get enough credit.
Jake. One of the most monstrously great players to come out of the 80’s
Seeing him on the 1984 BATM tour was literally life changing
Great Vid Cameron 👍
Outro solo to 'never know why' would be a great lesson
Damn yes
That outro just screams. Absolutely amazing. I’d love to had been in the studio when that was laid down. As it fades out it is still going strong.
@@SMHatbs absolutely agree
Jake loves these stretchy licks, which he never really got the respect he deserved an incredible guitarist especially joining Ozzy right after Randy Rhoads death couldn't have been an easy task and he did it .
Nobody else claims Jake as their favourite Ozzy player, but I totally agree. Love Jake's stuff.
🙋🏻♂️
I do.
Many actually do. My fave is Randy, but Jake is a very close 2nd.
@@CR7ADP10 you've kinda proven my point lol
😊 merci à toi Cameron pour ces riffs de jake e lee !
Power 80's ! "That's the only good thing"❤ 🤘🎸😛
Still my favorite guitarist of all time! Thank you for continuing to do videos covering his amazing work.
Jake E. Lee 🤟🏼🎸
I'm more impressed with the guitar sound you got for this....sounds pretty much 100% exact beyond the top notch playing expressed here.
I LOVE Jake E Lee's style. Amazing style he has. Love that Rock N Roll Rebel riff.
Huge thanks Cam for bringing back such great memories!
So glad to see you using the EVH guitar for playing some cool tunes.
It was because of you (and your reviews) I also bought an EVH-Wolfgang Special black stealth
Always a great guitar tutorial!!! Jake is a beast!!! Very underestimated guitarist! Thank you for your video!!
My favorite song off of Ultimate Sin is Secret Loser..What an incredible feat of guitar playing..Thank you for a great video..
Love those crazy cool harmonics Jake does before the chorus in Secret Loser, so awesome and musical!
Great stuff, love it. Randy and Jake were my favorites back in those days, actually they still are, what am I talking about. Ultimate Sin and Tribute were my 2 non stop listening albums in the 80s and Jake's solo in Suicide Solution on the Bark at the Moon tour live video, unreal.
yes 2 great albums with Ozzy that are often overlooked it seems, love Jake's style.
Jake is the greatest! Thnx Cameron
Jake and Ultimate Sin is the pinnacle of Ozzy for me.
Thanks, Cameron, Never is my top favorite, I could never figure out that first fill... 😊
Cameron you such a great guitar player!! Great job playing those Jake riffs! He made the coolest riffs!!👍🎸
Outstanding! Jake is way more interesting to me and had the coolest riffs.
More Jake lessons man!! Loved this🍻
The dude was all over the guitar 🎸 loved his style and because he didn't use the bar makes a lot of his tricks more amazing
Nice one Cam, great Jake tone. I once read in an interview that Jake actually has quite small hands so those stretches are insane.
Wow ... awesome stuff ...
Jake is one of the most underrated ever .......
Love your Jake material Cameron
🤟🏼🎸
Never is a really great Ozzy/Jake tune that no one talks about! It's one of those songs that sounds kind of easy to play but isn't. Thanks for the lesson!
Throwing in a like for the lesson, and a compliment on your ever jaw dropping guitar tone. Just outstanding.
I have to agree with you that Jake was the best guitarist for me on the Ozzy albums. Jake just had something else that the other guitarist didn't have. I loved Randy but I prefer Jake. Nice video man. Greetings out of South Africa.

Great lesson. I've played for 37 years and the riff to never I never took on cause I thought WTF is jake playing. Great video
Love Jake!! Ozzy's loss!
Jake is also my fav !
Yup, love Jake!
Jake had inspector gadget extending fingers
Jake used his thumb and pinky for big stretches...as i do...5 "4 short fingers 😂☮️😜
All I can say is, wow. Great job young man!
Jake had killer riffs on both of the albums he played on with Ozzy 😊😊😊😊😊
Awesome man! My favorite Ozzy guitarist as well. Then the Badlands album came out and it was incredible. Great playing Cameron!🎉😊
Jake E. Lee is my favorite Ozzy guitarist. Thanks for showing these riffs. If I'm not wrong, I think he uses 24.5 scale on his Charvels. That helps with those stretches.

Awesome. Sounds great!
I like that EVH guitar
Never is a gnarly riff for real, one of jakes best for sure!
That RnR Rebel tone was a pure religious experience. I don't remember it sounding that good on the album. Flawless performance too.
Nice teaching method,,keep it up!
Dude I agree, Jake is my favorite Oz guitarist as well! And Badlands first 2 albums are some of the most underrated albums of that era! I rank both 10 out of 10.
