I presume you mean black people/ethnic people in general. How? Most of them are UK citizens, many of them were born and raised in the UK, some come from families who have been in the UK for 3 or more generations so don't have any connections to their ancestral homelands anymore. Repatriation/expelling whole populations is just not politically or logistically feasible in the modern era. In any case, there aren't many people involved in ethnonationalism in the UK, and very few who are comptent/educated and aren't social outcasts, losers, nutcases or idiots.
@colerobbins124 Is that what God thinks, or what you think? I'm asking because acts of worship are for God and not for you or me... presumably you knew that?
"Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise him in the cymbals and dances." (Psalm 150) Ultimately an act of worship is not for the people but for God; nothing else matters.
@mitchmate368 Tradition was alive and kicking throughout the service (see Parry, Handel, Byrd, Walton, plainchant, robed choir etc.) which was an offering to God and not to you or me. Traditions that are not refreshed will ossify and deserve to die. Psalm 150 instructs the faithful to praise God in the dance and on all manner of instruments - "Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord."
This is not gospel. The group that sang at the Royal wedding in 2018 was. They might be a gospel choir but are not singing in a traditional gospel style.
The comments here are bizarre. The Anglican Gospel choir singing about heaping praise on god and the king is out of place , but you don’t hear anyone asking why there was a Greek Orthodox chant /Byzantine rite, which is even more out of place - especially given the fact that much of this process is about confirming the true Protestant faith etc. I wonder what the difference might be and what that tells us about certain people’s mindset…
They're trying to have a strong black presence to show that they are not racist....I never thought they were racist but since Meghan accused them now they have to defend themselves.
This is a fantastic gospel choir doing their utmost to make gospel music out of a piece that should have been sung by a more traditional choir. They looked uncomfortable and awkward singing this. They needed proper gospel music. Consequently this piece never took off. A lovely composition and an amazing choir which do not go together. It was if whoever organised the music just didn't want to take a risk and played it safe.

My dog, who has been known to 'watch' TV, stopped when this came on and was transfixed on the television, he actually ran towards it. 😇Nothing I have seen before, it made me think of the underground temples with the sound chambers of the ancient past. Everyone knows that certain musical frequencies have special effects on people.
Wow!!!
The ceremony is very Holy and soul.
I believed it is not about anything behind there.
Great guard dog.
Another formerly proud empire willingly submitting itself to occupation
I must say, listening to just pure, beautiful human voices; no instruments or accompaniments is such a uniquely powerful experience! That was simply mesmerizing.
Voices of the Heavens..BEAUTIFUL ❤❤❤
Beautiful! Praises to the King of all Kings - Christ Jesus Lord of all.
Woman on the right was doing the 'gibs me dat' dance with her hands @0:36. Very powerful.
POWERFUL gibbings of dat indeed
😂
They are without excuse! Christ is King over all the earth! Repent, believe in him,bow down and seek his salvation. This is what you ought to do to be saved 1.(John 3:16-18), 2.(Acts 2:37-38).
I had tears streaming down my cheeks. The gospel group were so moving.
I love how they put everything even their bodies into their singing.
I had tears streaming down my face as well....... but for many many other reasons SMH

@Mister_Midnight racist
Beautiful
Whose idea was it?
The king
Utterly non European for an ancient Christian European ceremony. Would a symphony orchestra be a necessary part of a tribal chief ceremony in Nigeria or is diversity all one way?
@Fidelisjoff "Praise him in the sound of the trumpet, praise him upon the lute and harp. Praise him in the cymbals and dances, praise him upon the strings and pipe. Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord." (Psalm 150)
Furthermore, Christianity itself did not begin in Europe. Ditto Islam, Buddhism and the other major religions.
Therefore, any ascription of nationality to an act of worship, or appraisal of musical content, is ash before the wind.

There's a lot of us doing a lot more than just rolling our eyes. The fatigue is setting in.
Sorry
I too feel sick

And who did not! Namely the girl in the blue hat behind them who kept visibly rolling her eyes.

This is supposed to be a hymn of praise to God, it should be reverent and these Black singers are swaying their bodies like it's a sexual dance ritual not to mention that the singing is awful too.
Ridiculous
Would’ve been totally fine if they weren’t moving like that. Just stand still and sing the song. And it’s a good song I’ll give them that. Though i Don’t think this exact moment will age well. It’s so out of place

Why tf did they choose THAT song. Why are they in the middle of everyone? I see what they were trying to do, but this was a little cringe and a little out of place. I've heard some insane Gospel choirs. Amongst all the other epic choir music they had, this honestly felt like a Britain's got talent act.
They didn't choose it. It was commissioned and written for the coronation.
Out of place because they sing with joy and praise.
@@dgse83 ok? still shit

This was not meant to be a gospel performance. People are just getting it all wrong. The choir that sang at Prince Harry's wedding sang gospel. This is nothing like it.
Their voices were awesome
And this is what Candace Owens didn’t like lol
She already made a video providing her thoughts. And they’re not good lol.

The UK is sick. Very sick. This will not cohere. You need to disregard these peoples feelings and then move to remove them from your country.
If you only knew how bad things really are .

I'm lost for words...
Very tonally inappropriate. For such a solemn occasion, this should have been left out. That weird swingy dancing has no place in such a ceremony.

Unfortunately, that's the impression. Kind of cringey and embarrassing. The coronation's diversity, equity, and inclusion moment! ;)
Quite obvious.
"Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise him in the cymbals and dances." (Psalm 150)
Ultimately an act of worship is not for the people but for God; nothing else matters.
Lame, stick to tradition
Screw your traditions
Yep...traditional = boring. I'm ready to yawn now.
Songs..of KJV 1611. Preserved.
That’s just it; they _didn’t_ have to. Like so many fools today, they’re falling for the trap of “proving a negative.”
Weak and cringe. Like everything else today

@@davidpar2 sometimes you have to defend yourself.
No idiots. He got different parts of the commonwealth to participate. Hello.....
Imagine being one of the Hereditary Peers whose family have been loyal to the Monarchy for several centuries, not getting an invite to the Coronation, and instead having this take your place
@markbenjamin1703 The Coronation is an act of worship for God, and it was broadcast live, so it is disingenuous to imply that anyone was excluded.

Thank you for posting this moment of magic. I can now share it with my friends who were unable to see it at the time.
You can’t compare these things, as all cultural elements should be respected, but GOD that bit seemed odd after the hair- raising Byzantine chant.
I was like “why are they moving around?” Then next thing I was crying. Lovely performance. And it was nice to be able to understand what they were saying. Sometimes choirs get so “angelical” you can’t understand a word they’re saying.
Yes, it was very beautiful! Gospel singers/choirs dance ( moving around) because dancing is mention often in them bible (especially in the Old Testament) as a means of worship and praise to God.
It was a crying shame when they started to dance, as it totally detracted from the wonderful singing" and left lookers on puzzled? Like they were watching Sister Act with Whoopy Goldberg.
@intellect1st122 Psalm 150: "Praise him in the cymbals and *dances* ... Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord."
Worship is not offered to any 'onlookers' but to God, who alone is the audience and judge.
