According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a Zealot should be able to fly. It has heavy armor and has no wings whatsoever, leaving no way to get their strong Protoss bodies off the ground. The Zealot, of course, is powered by memes and cares not for the laws of physics, nor what should even be logically possible, and flies anyways.
I generally lurk very hard, rarely commenting and such, but watching this after the last brutal+ vid, I want to give you some simple and straight forward feedback. The content I enjoy the most is when you're having fun. Even in some of your harder challange runs, even when you were stuck, it was clear you were enjoying the challenge and finding ways to overcome it. Seeing you excited and laughing in this video was great... as for B+, it's clear you're burnt on it, and for good reason. Some of the modifiers are just straight up anti-fun and unfair in their "challenge". So please, feel free to drop the Brutal + series if you're not enjoying it and I would look forward to any form of content on any game, as long as you're having fun with it :)
I feel the same way, especially with some of his stuff from late last year, when it was mostly streams and the twitch chat was making Grant really irritated. Rightfully so but still wasn't enjoyable to watch. His best stuff is when he's having fun, it's why the co op series with jayborino and synergy are so great
This video was so refreshing. I stopped watching the brutal mutator as it feels more like rng based than skill, and some are just unfair and not fun to watch, like "perpetual movement", I hate that mutator!
Absolutely 100%. I feel that twitch chat likes to forget that the person PLAYING the game is supposed to have fun. If Grant is getting super tilted every mission and/or dying to stupid RNG, that just means this particular project didn’t pan out. I’d much prefer if he just cut his losses and moved on to something fun. And he’s clearly having a *lot* of fun with this one, and consequently so are we.
too bad the helicopter lots are just warped in, instead of descending from the sky spinning. it could also have been a nice introduction of the unit ability during the beginning warp in.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R combos well with the Baby Sentinals. I would assume that they give you the two together, as otherwise you'd murder all your own zealots instantly.
Instead of shading their ability should make them dance and become invulnerable, after which they gain the "power of friendship" buff, which do absolutely nothing, and can stack indefinitely

Okay I've got the voting results up and in decently readable format. This album will update after every episode is released and reposted in a comment explaining what we did and why we went with what we did. imgur.com/a/1hPaEdC Commentary on the first few units: As with a lot of the first few units, these units are cheap and therefore have a low power budget, which means the memes have to be somewhat limited. As the tech tree opens up, we can fit more memes in every unit, just like a good car salesman. -Helicopter Zealot is the idea that started it all and has so much more potential than expected. Fantastic unit. -Dragoon pathing took a long time to get to be bad. A combination of cliff walking pathing, random movements, large hitbox, and some more slight things help it be poor. They're compensated with extra range, damage, and a lowered cost. -Sentinels had a runaway vote and we felt that was good enough. A lot of ideas were had with how to handle the reconstruction, but this one was simple enough. We tried to make a few more layers of it, making smaller and smaller zealots appear, but it was getting a bit complicated on the editor's end. -Stalkers had two clear votes. There were a ton of ideas of what to do with Blink, but roughly 90% of them nerfed it into the ground. Blink stalkers being one of Grant's favorite units (and one of the coolest units overall), we couldn't actively hurt it too much. Removing the shield gain and giving it some other abilities seemed pretty neat, and the play of aggressive vs. defensive blinking is cool. Moo.
Is this mod literally just for Grant? Why is this not available for download for anybody else? I have looked high and low for a download for this mod and it's literally just links to Grant's series of it. Community voted for only one youtuber to play it? Hooray?
Helicopter Zealots cleaving makes sense -- they're swinging big ol' psi-axes in a small arc in front of them, so I could see a small conal AoE, so they can hit like, 2-3 smaller people-sized targets (Marines, zealots, lings, etc), but not hit multiple larger targets (tanks, ultras, colossi, etc). STALKERs is a very nice thought too -- that irradiated aura would help when melees get close; those splitter sentinels are also a very silly idea.

This looks like a barrel of laughs. Out of curiosity, are there any plans for Memes of Liberty, Heart of the Meme, or Nova Covert Memes? I think we missed the tooltip explanation for the Sentinel and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. at the end of mission 2. Looks like S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s have permanent Irradiate and generate a cloaked cow when they Blink, and the Sentinel has the Splitterling-like "mini-me" revive instead of normal. Are there any other changes to those units?
The reflection in Grant's glasses getting caught as part of the green screen reminds me of the "gl hf dont cheese me plz" meme from 2017, and it's super fitting for this series. I'm looking forward to this one, this curated randomness/madness looks a lot more interesting than Brutal+.
Nice to see my Matryoska zealot idea sort of made it in. I'd hoped to see that it resurrected three or four times and just got smaller and smaller each time. For my guess on the nerazim zealot, I didn't see the vote, but I liked the idea of the stun charge being an active ability that does major area damage in addition to stun, but sacrifices the zealot. Like a big baneling with psi blades that explodes and stuns on command.
Grant, i just wanna say thank you for knowing the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games; And huge thanks to the community for implementing this feature into this campaign. These are my 2 favorite games, and seeing them blended into eachother(even in a meme way), makes me really happy
The music in the background, when you were selecting the difficulty settings, makes me want to go watch The Mummy (1999). As for the memes, those zealots are amazing. They are like the Assault Marines from the Warhammer 40k, those were my favorite units in the Dawn of War series. They will come in handy when you get attacked by airwaves. The Dragoons are funny when they kept walking around when they were supposed to be idle as well. I can't wait for the rest. I have to say, I love the STALKER reference. I still yell "Get out of here stalker" when fighting against protoss in the single player. Also the fact that they can just ignore zerglings is great, it looks like the damage aura stacks. If you do do a ranking of these memes, most can go into the S-Tier, but your community is the only meme that belongs in SS-Tier.
I was one of the persons who suggested the splitting sentinel, and I'm so happy that it was implemented. Since I'm obviously going to say that units are going to behave like my suggestions I'll withold from it, but I'll be waiting for the new VODs with impatience !
If you do want to shoutout timezones, include GMT, most people know their offset from that. This was a blast to watch, can't wait to catch up to the rest of the series
In starcraft you can have decimals of armor, and you can have negatives of armor. They both work as you would expect. Each attack has an "Armor Reduction" statistic, this is normally set to 1, so you loose 1 damage per point of armor, half a point of armor would be -0.5 damage. Negative armor is bonus damage, so with -1 armor you take 1 additional damage.
Hahahaha what a ride this one is gonna be. Definitely following this series. Can't really hazard any guesses as to the units that are coming up next, but I can say that I would LOVE to see these heli-zealots paired up with immortals ... stuff that's normally meant to hit only the ground. Start the blend to wipe out any encroaching air while everything on the ground comes into the mech and then gets flanked when the zealots come back down. It'd be like Mira's Reapers in co-op if they actually had good units to make a back line.

"Flying zealot" ability should be a legit, normal ability in some indie RTS game. It's genuinely an interesting mechanic and fun to pull off! Bro, that Sentinel splitting into two makes sense. If an Adept (a Purifier ranged unit) can shade and swap positions with the Shade, why not have three Zealots for the price of one?
Guess for Nerazim Melee and Ranged Warriors: Centurions naruto run, and teleport specifically behind their target, and the skill is renamed to "Nothing personnel, kid" Stalker is renamed to S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and has russian voice lines instead. Blink now has infinite range, but its cooldown is based on how far it travels.
You did not read the tooltips in the second mission. I am like 99% sure though that the cows spawn when you blink, at your old location. I am simultaneously so not ready for this and so ready for this, let's go!

I was one of the persons who suggested the splitting sentinel, and I'm so happy that it was implemented. Since I'm obviously going to say that units are going to behave like my suggestions I'll withold from it, but I'll be waiting for the new VODs with impatience !

In starcraft you can have decimals of armor, and you can have negatives of armor. They both work as you would expect. Each attack has an "Armor Reduction" statistic, this is normally set to 1, so you loose 1 damage per point of armor, half a point of armor would be -0.5 damage. Negative armor is bonus damage, so with -1 armor you take 1 additional damage.
God the flying Zealots made me laugh too much for what it is. Especially when they blended the Guardian in mear frames.
They pitched up the sounds! Jesus Christ, the "We meet the enemy in battle!" but up two octaves about killed me laughing.
This is easily the most amusing series so far.

Hahahaha what a ride this one is gonna be. Definitely following this series. Can't really hazard any guesses as to the units that are coming up next, but I can say that I would LOVE to see these heli-zealots paired up with immortals ... stuff that's normally meant to hit only the ground. Start the blend to wipe out any encroaching air while everything on the ground comes into the mech and then gets flanked when the zealots come back down. It'd be like Mira's Reapers in co-op if they actually had good units to make a back line.

I remember laughing myself half to death reading some of the unit ideas. Just reading them was enough to set me off, so seeing them in action is going to be special.

"Flying zealot" ability should be a legit, normal ability in some indie RTS game. It's genuinely an interesting mechanic and fun to pull off!

Bro, that Sentinel splitting into two makes sense. If an Adept (a Purifier ranged unit) can shade and swap positions with the Shade, why not have three Zealots for the price of one?

Guess for Nerazim Melee and Ranged Warriors: Centurions naruto run, and teleport specifically behind their target, and the skill is renamed to "Nothing personnel, kid"
Stalker is renamed to S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and has russian voice lines instead. Blink now has infinite range, but its cooldown is based on how far it travels.
You did not read the tooltips in the second mission. I am like 99% sure though that the cows spawn when you blink, at your old location.
