This was a great first book of this series. I enjoyed all of the different characters with magical abilities. Oppression and poverty and two worlds colliding. I really wasn't so sure about this series because of the demons aspect, but I think that Hall dealt really well with that and I didn't feel too weird about it. I'm excited to see where things go in the next book. This book was a standalone, but also with a continuing mystery for the rest of the series.

The story is good, I'm halfway through the book but the AI narration makes it very hard to listen to and I've become confused in some parts as to who is talking or being referred to. I'd prefer an actual person reading it.

My friend and I started our podcast with just our phones and a microphone. I edit with some software I bought with my computer called power director but you could use a free one to edit like pro tools or DaVinci resolve. I was told they're pretty easy to use.
great story line but the person reading is monotoned. There is no change in tone between each person ... which makes it hard to follow .... sorry I cant listen, but best of luck...
