That is not true and i know that becaus i live in cuxhaven the City from where you go to the Island
You can also get there from Bremerhaven and Büsum.. living in Cuxhaven doesn't mean that you know every corner of Helgoland and the Airport island

Storytime: in the 70s or 80s, a Lufthansa 737 made a touch and go at Helgoland Düne, although the runway was even shorter back then. The Pilot was suspended afterwards, but everything worked 😅 google it if you dont believe :D

You might get a 727 to land & stop in real life there. The 727 on display @ Museum of Science & Engineering (Chicago) actually landed at little Miegs Field and only used half the runway. You'd never get it back out though. A 727 couldn't pass a Camry during takeoff.
