Great to see my second home being finally featured here. As far as I know, the airport was closed as a part of the demilitarization of the Swiss alps during the 90’s and 00’s. The former military airfields Raron and Turtmann are not longer in use as well and have been partly demolished. Luckily, the operations at Raron Airport weren’t entirely discontinued and today, small planes and gliders use a remainder of the former runaway.

Theres something sad about closed airports, the charm they use to have in the old days disappears as people forget about it...
If you're interested in closed airports can I recommend Filton Airfield in the UK? idk if there are any msfs addons for it but it's where all the British Concordes were built and tested, but it's history goes back far further than that. There's a museum on the site now that's quite nice.

I would like you to check out Zeljeva air base from Croatia! It is one of the biggest underground bases in Europe (If I'm not wrong).
you should really check out sidi ahmed airbase that exists in the north of Tunisia near Bizaerte. It was built by the french army since tunisia was colonized by france back then it has an interesting runways layout and one of them is really short (which should be interesting enough for you to tru out)
