I'm sorry to ask but, where are you getting papers that consume the water much more? I kinda tried it with a bond paper but the water isn't drying fast and it stays there until the paper torns apart the colors are completely mixing when I am painting with water color...

Regarding the issue of color mixing and slow drying after the paper absorbs water that you mentioned, this may be related to the material and treatment of the paper. Watercolor paper is divided into cotton-based paper and wood-based paper. Cotton-based paper has good water absorption, natural blending, allows for multiple layers of application, is less prone to water marks, and dries more slowly. On the other hand, wood-based paper has poor water absorption, is prone to water marks, shows color easily, and is not suitable for multiple applications. Therefore, if you want better watercolor effects, it is recommended that you try using cotton-based watercolor paper, which usually provides better water absorption and color retention.
This painting was done on 300gsm cold-pressed wood pulp paper with a rough texture, so it dries very quickly。
