A reason for having some of these random characters from the same shows and movies could be Warner Brothers not greenlighting Player First Games to add some of the bigger characters. Warner Bros could be waiting to see some more success from Multiversus where as SSBU is directly owned by Nintendo and made by Nintendo so theres no real middle man

I know that Macro definitely hasnt watched Steven Universe, but i can not stress enough how much potential the series has for characters. Spinel, Amathyst, Peridot, Bismuth, Pearl, Lapis, Connie, all would go HARD in multiversus and well, there all warriors too so its not even a stretch to be in a fighting game like some others.
My top pic would be Spinel, would be super fun and full of personality, and having a scythe character would be fun
and Peridot would be cool with a ton of gadgets, being a mage, but when you do enough dmg it breaks her Limbs Enhancers and she becomes much more “Wimpy” but agile.
But honestly id take anything. Its clear the Multiversus team does love the series too as the cosmetics for it are always top notch, and not even just the skins, all the banners and emotes and ringouts are also fantastic, but its clear that it’s purely the higher ups that choose the characters as Macro said, so characters that are essentially just adds like black adam, or characters they remember from there childhoods (cause lets be honest the higher ups are probably pretty old) like the Gremlins characters get in over much more deserving characters. Its really a struggle having so many ips because you cant please everyone, i get that, but really, TWO gremlins characters?😭
Don’t you ever clown the gremlins ever again first of all and second of all u took time to write this essay on why certain characters are deserving which is cool but u also knocking other characters like bro just say u want more Steven universe, which btw they already have two so idk why there no problem with two from that series but not two from Steven universe
