On 'Stay The Same' Bonobo runs together woozy, off-kilter strings, rock solid, deceptively simple drumwork, a rising bassline and undorned sax-work provided by The Portico Quartet's Jack Wiley for another slice of his subtle magic.
Andreya Triana co-wrote many of the songs with Bonobo on 'Black Sands' and her debut album 'Lost Where I Belong' is released on Ninja Tune on 23 August.
He should make more music with her, she was the best female singer he worked with.
Andreya and Bajka so far. The rest are really bad at live performances.
yes - but at the end of the North Borders tour on stage at Alexandra Palace, Andreya said "this is probably the last time I will perform this song" indicating that perhaps there was some issue at the end of that very long tour....and she has not performed with Bonobo since. I am sad to think they will not perform together again and I have seen Andreya perform solo since - she is still amazing and better than ever. Szjerdene is truly great too though (not a big fan of her solo stuff mind you) she has been amazing on the migration tour.

I first heard this song when I was like 16 on my first mushroom trip like 14 years ago, I just heard this version the other day while tripping and I brought me to tears. I fought so hard when I was young to get people to “understand” me. So it resonated. But this last time I got it. It’s about the art of letting go. Specially in a place of complacency. I place where you saw yourself for the rest of your life. To grieve and learn.

+Shayan Nahrvar They probably didn't want to bring a guy on tour to play just that part, and also didn't want to break the fully acoustic vibe by digitally triggering a sampled sax. Wait, I typed this before I heard the saxophone player at 2:01....THAT GUY SHOULD HAVE JUST PLAYED THE LICK BEFORE THE VOCALS CAME IN. Maybe he was stoned and/or asleep.

Bonobo is a modern day genius and hes from the UK!!!! Anyone enjoy when the band went off stage halfway through a song and there was a flute solo followed by a drum solo, then they all crept back on and carried straight back into the song. Beyond words.

Listening to this whilst the inhalant of THC reaches my blood stream, absolutely high on an astronomical level, Sounds, amplified by ten, hearing every little beat, and then you've got that voice, its beautiful just like a sweet angelic symphony. No, I'm from Eastern Europe, and he doesn't perform that often in that part. To be franc, I don't like the early live session, from his beginning, but since he started playing with the band, and also introduced a lot more vocals to his songs (days to come, black sands) for me it became more appealing to hear him live. He came here 2 years ago promoting Black Sands, but I did not get the chance to go to the concert. At the time I'm writing this, I'm listening to The Plug :)
