@@enrique16ish QAAM got nerfed in the same patch that added the Raven. Still a good weapon, but its motor runs out of fuel faster, making it a bit easier to shake off.

Chris Olson AH is great, loved the dogfighting mode mechanic, but the story was bad.
Although i have to admit the Earth setting gave us some pretty interesting airplane concepts, the Shinden was damn sweet.
Ace combat logic:
The enemy has a highly advanced aircraft
Loses against a guy in an old fashoned jet
Pilot > Aircraft, the only reason the drones were so good was because they had Mihaly's flight data.
@@epsilon752 That's true, but if the aircraft is too old it won't have chances against an advanced fighter jet.
@@rataV7517 Yeah, Trigger canonically flies the F-22, which is a very good fighter jet. The gameplay is much different from reality, of course, as otherwise you'd probably be sniped out of the sky in an instant.

It would have been cool if above a certain % of damage like maybe 90%, you would do what the other Ravens did and undock the front of the plane, gaining a lot of agility, but losing missiles and flares, because it's annoying to see the separation lines on the fuselage telling you that the aircraft can split, but not ever getting to see that happen.
This is the F Type raven. It can't dismantle itself like that and its brain was removed to make room for the pilot seat

Peter Morris only the drone version can undock. The extra air intake is for redundancy when pilot is on board

It's strange that they've decided to release the planes starting from tha most advanced and futuristic and going back to the first prototype of Morgan.
It would've make sense to release them other way around.

Today I test the UAV against Mihaly(mission 7) and it turns out to be more efficient than QAAM.
But these drones use PLSL so maybe if the enemy is in clouds it becomes useless I guess?
Yeah they don't hit you in the clouds and they really arent that viable in multiplayer in my opinion they don't do that much damage in campaign is where those things shine
That's really the only thing the UAVs have going for them: they're incredibly persistant. Against enemies that even QAAMs have trouble with like Mihaly and the Ravens in Mission 20, they're the best weapons by virtue of being able to HIT the bastards consistently.
I used them in mission 19. It is convienient when you don't really have time to aim like on Ace difficulty with lots of missile spam. And in PvP while the PLSL now barely has any range, we get the TLS in its place for long range attacks.
Yes, when I see I have Raven in MP on my tail, I just dive into the clouds. They are useless there.

unfortunately the 'cockpit' view is just looking out of a kinda low-image-quality, 360-degree camera, unless my game is bugged and not rendering the actual cockpit

Don't forget that this plane is really big; big enough to be an easy target for EMLs

UAV- Its neat. helps with the SU 57's and F22's in Mission 19. wish they would attack other targets after they destroy primary but still fun.
bang for buck- Auto Fire E, lock on ALG., Jammer, and standard missile perks
You need pulse laser parts too because you're limited to only 2 kilometers if using the lasers.
I thought the Free Erusea & ISAF emblems were exclusively unlocked by the VR missions?..
They were until today.

@@Rafer_101 They didn't increase the homing. The patch notes confirms that they didn't do anything but reduce flight distance. You either have parts on them or just playing against people who don't know how to dodge them.

So I've been using the Raven for the last hour and I found a glaring weakness. Because a lot of the matches have cloud cover you can effectively defeat The Raven by staying in the clouds and using SASMs.
I’m a little disappointed the DLCs are 3 different planes and we will receive them over the next few months. Was expecting a lot more then that.

Daniel Dunlap yea, it’s crappy imo. I was hoping for some big DLC like in Ace Combat Infinity But in packs but it’s just 3 planes over the next few months and 3 missions. That really sucks
Programming in new things is weird. You change one line of code and all of a sudden the sun becomes a moon with super lasers. At least they are taking time to make things work properly.
Jay Han true but a whole season pass for 3 planes and 3 missions? I honestly expected more, though I am happy with what we got and are getting, I still expected there to be more.
Hopefully the next planes won't have the glaring weaknesses of the Raven

@@mastertintiger lately its just jets in the wrong class/cost and early releases but I have been in a lobby on 2 different time where someone used instant missile reload (lagged out the lobby) interesting to watch but stuff going against that :/
The second skin for the raven is based off that first high tech drone you fight escorting McKinney from the 444th air base the adf 10

According to my evaluation, turning performance of ADF-11F is higher than Su-57 but lower than X-02S. That is not the highest.
But the real worth of ADF-11F is its DEFENCE, higher than any other planes. If with Bullet Proof Lv.2, he can hold against EML with damage Lv.2.
It's slower than the Falken and other aircraft because the F wing is made for close-range air-to-air combat. The ADF-11 is the cockpit and can be put in multiple wings, such as attackers, interceptors, or fighters. The F wing creates the ADF-11F.
I would've liked some more dlc missions along with the aircraft, skins & emblems

I use metallic red skin for ADF-11F and put on North Osea Grunder Industries emblem. Its fitting after all.
I don't care about the aircraft what about the 3 mission the most no1 important thing about ace combat is the missions. It is rubbish that we ONLY get three but hope that all if them are long at least 15-20 mins each even if one of them is a boss type of target.

What's interesting is that with the manned variant, the nose unit doesn't appear to be able to deploy from the main body as a defense strategy. You can tell by the outline and design that it has the capability to do so, but it never does.
While the cockpit on the ADF-11F is described as "undetachable", the fact that the manned version still has the air intakes for the ADF-11's engine suggests to me that this might not be the case. Perhaps instead of an ejection seat, the entire cockpit can be jettisoned from the aircraft to fly the pilot back to friendly lines, though it'd be completely unarmed with all of its weaponry lost with the fuselage ( I believe the pulse laser is actually BENEATH the cockpit) and I imagine it wouldn't be terribly maneuverable either without the folding variable geometry wings of the drone, with the canards providing just enough lift to keep the detached cockpit unit airborne when coupled with the high thrust from the engine. Upon reaching friendly lines...well, I assume that it's either designed to make a belly landing or that the pilot would then bail out over friendly territory, eliminating the risk of capture.
Could be a pretty neat feature if made canon.

I sent my UAVs after the last drone in the space elevator tunnel and they immediately crashed into the walls. They came back though so it was fine. They're good bois.

Very good reporting Conrad it'll be interesting to see more missions though but I still wish they'd bring Co-op back so you could fly with your buddy on missions it would be awesome

Wait isn’t the Raven regular COFFIN (like the Adf-01)?
The "regular COFFIN" of the ADF-01 was the early prototype stage of the technology. It appears the Raven is a step towards the full-on Pilot/Plane intergration seen in AC3 by introducing a VR headset that allows the pilot to truly see in all directions and through the aircraft as well as control of the aircraft through a direction connection to the pilot's brain.
i am surprised with the lack of publicity about this game. I did not know about any upcoming dlc
This game is so great because many of us wanted to be pilots but never made it because of poor eyesight, heart problems, poor grades, unwillingness to join the military etc. I personally don't want to surrender my freedom in exchange for the chance to pilot an eagle for few years. You can't fly jets to 30 years in the air force. If you could, every 30 years the whole crop of pilots would retire and it would cripple the air force's fighting power.
Instead they keep sending older pilots to a desk and bringing in young ones. The correct balance is 50% veterans and 50% new recruits. Thus at no time will the air force experience a mass retirement of pilots a year before a war.
Instead the air force experiences a balanced, staggered retirement rate. These people study everything, they know things.

am i the only one that doesn’t like the design of these? they look futuristic yes, but i feel like could’ve made these aircraft look REALLY sleek and agile. idk design wise what they could do but these just look big and “bulky”

5:12 I really don't get why it's a closed canopy with just cameras. I mean, I sort of get why it uses cameras on the front, because itz long nose will obstruct any view there (which is why the Concorde, and the TU-144 both had to curve their nose down [on landing I think]. Heck, its use of a front camera seems inspired off current reduced sonic boom aircraft designs with long noses (they also have to use frontal camera, because of obstructed view).
......but cameras everywhere else? Why thou? It doesn't make sense :/
For full field of view. Normally, the drone would use those cameras to look around, and the pilot does the same - it's the same as a glass canopy, but with cameras. I guess it offers more durability to use more armor instead of glass in the canopy?
I though the raven when shot down the escape pods will pop off and then it doesnt pop off and turn into small plane
