"I'll give ross a chance" *2 secs later* "Oh ma gawd, he's jealous and is an a-hole" The guy gets cheated on, his marriage fails, the wife is pregnant and the partner is not even mentioning his name to his unborn child. So yeah he's got all the reason to get jealous over it. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Oh my god the “bobo the spermguy” line was clearly a joke. She was being sarcastic. And keep in mind it was Carol that cheated, BECAUSE SHES GAY and there was literally nothing Ross could do to change that. Should she have cheated? No. But this is a TV show! Drama!
@@LiaaaaaaaaAAAAAHH well that was funny for us but it's not that funny for ross. I mean he's the father for Christ sake, he should've been mentioned with respect. Plus it wasn't the problem anyways. It's her misinterpretation and blatant hate towards ross. She just saw him and calling him a-hole and jealous without even knowing the proper reasons. The guy above you actually made thay clear, she doesn't understand shit and she doesn't even think straight 🤷♂️.
6:45 Well he was cheated on so I think being a little insecure with the person that your wife (of 7/8 years) cheated with, and treats him like he is the problem (not even saying his name to HIS child), not to mention they got everything (apartment, furniture, etc), is more than justifyable BTW Ross isn't near my favourite character (I do love David as an actor, he has the best comidic timing) but objectibly he is doing nothing wrong at this point of the story
@@LiaaaaaaaaAAAAAHH Because she has shown in many diffferent ways that she hates him, so her saying that sounds believable. In my family we almost always use sarcasm, my dad is basically Chandler, and I didn't think it was (unlike the lesbian course) but even if it is, doesn't make everything else better
@@dupersuper1938 Right, the girlfriend that she cheated with. I'm not going to pity someone in a situation like that, maybe if they had gotten together after they broke up. And again, doesn't make what she does better
Again.... You confuse me so much. Did I hear you right, or did I miss something? You asked "is he ACTUALLY gonna have a relationship with the kid? Probably not!" I'm sorry what? It's HIS child 😨 HIS son or daughter. Why on earth would anyone think Ross, the father, would not want to be part of his child's life? And not to be too negative again, but uhm.... Carol CHEATED on her husband with Susan. And forgot to tell her husband that she was into girls also, so Ross being "jealous" is fair! It hasn't been that long and also Susan is already claiming that this child is hers therefore it should have HER name instead of Ross's, so yeah... Ross is doing nothing wrong here. If anyone was an a**hole it was Carol for cheating.
I agree but I’m happy it’s not a popular opinion and I do like how this show presents different characters for different types of ppl to identify with 😊
I don't understand hate for Ross I hate Susan and ex wife...,I can't remember her name and I watched Friends 5 times from the Pilot to the end!!! And I don't care....Ross is GREAT and he deserve better from the show.Thank you.Bye.🫡
Okey, I have to say something here. Obviously you are allowed to feel whatever way you want about these characters. If you don't like Ross, then fine you don't like Ross. If I was to make a list and rank these characters, Monica would be on the bottom for me, like we all have different opinions and Monica delivers the least amount of laughs for me. All fair. However, it seems you are being way hars with your choice of words to describe, in this care, Ross. How on earth is he an arsehole when Carol was the one that cheated on him? Carol was the one that demanded that this child should not have his name, but have Susan's name instead! The woman with whom she cheated Ross with! I mean did you seriously miss that part of this story, that Susan was the other woman in this scenario? Ross was cheated on and then dumped by his wife. Your hatred seems to be directed into the wrong character here. Ross did nothing wrong. He is trying to be part of this pregnancy and his baby's life and the OTHER WOMAN disrespects him by saying that he is not the father, but instead just the spermguy. That is so rude!
Monica is my least favorite character as well, maybe its how they set her personality or maybe irs that i dont find Courtney Cox funny. But i also think thats part of the reason i didn't like her and her *future partner* together
First of all, chill. Second, Susan was clearly being sarcastic with the “bobo the spermguy” joke. She had been making jokes that entire interaction. Also it’s important to remember we never see what Ross and Carol’s marriage was like. Not saying Ross was awful or deserved to be left, but 1/2 a story is 1/2 a story. Also being left because someone realized they are attracted to the opposite gender and fell in love with someone else is so not the same thing as a typical affair. Carol was literally incapable of being in love with Ross. She should have just left him once she realized, but obvs this is a show and where is the drama in that?
VD was short for Venereal Disease, the old name used for STD. The old name fell into disuse because Veneral means "of women", as if men contracted it from women and not the other way around. New terminology is gender neutral and scientifically more accurate as it refers to the act and not the people =)
@icedquokka it was about time as medical terms shouldn't be passing judgement or picking sides xD Fun fact: that word has the same root as Venus (goddess of love) and Veneration (worshipping).
@@horsepower523 Yeah, and for the most part Rachel is kind of trash. She’s far more toxic than anyone else on the show, but we can’t get into that yet.
The first few episodes and even the first season is mainly to present the main 6 characters and find out where each stands. Joe struggling to get a regular job as an actor with very little success, Chandler who seems to be well-off, Ross and his intricate situation with a lesbian wife pregnant with his child, Rachel, the runaway bride trying to become "independent" from her parents, Monica the cook, then Phoebe the funny girl with a bizarre past. Be patient, the fun is still to come.
It's hilarious when Phoebe said "I know where Minsk is" cause the actress, Lisa Kudrow, was actually born in Belarus (then Belorussia, part of the Soviet Union). I love it when they incorporate actors' background into show. Thanks!
I love all their interactions! Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry were also very close. They were friends for years before this and Matthew Perry had a huge crush on her for a long time 🥰
I find it funny how i see so many reactors on friends hate on the girls unfairly with zero mention in the comments. But the moment one reactor is against one of the guys, suddenly everyone is angry.
The actor playing David, the scientist guy that Pheebs likes, is Hank Azaria. He's the voice of a lot of Simpsons characters, such as Chief Wiggum, Moe Szyslak, and Duffman. :)
Yeah, you seem like you have your head made on Ross. He makes a joke and you roll your eyes, while when other characters say something similar (when they are in the kitchen with the burnt dinner, for example) you think it's funny or "sad for Monica", but not "angry at Joey". I've seen your pinned comment on the other video, but I think you should listen to the criticism, because you can have your opinion, but people are not wrong to complain
I really don't mean this in a rude way, but have people told you about Ross in this show and that is why you are so harsh on him? I've watched every reactor react to this show and you seem to be so negative about Ross when he is being the good guy in this situation. You may just hate Ross and that is fine, but seems like people told you Ross is such a bad character in this show and is toxic so you just say he is toxic and hate him when he does anything in this show. Hope your opinions change but even if they don't, just really think if Ross deserves as much hate as you especially give him.
A lot of people in this comments section seem to feel the need to pinpoint a "bad guy" in the Ross/Carol/Susan dynamic. There isn't one. It's messy and awkward but they both love Carol, Carol loves them and all three love the baby to be. Ross and Susan obviously have a strained relationship, but apart from sarcastic sniping they set those feelings aside for Carol and the baby.
It's perfectly ok if you don't like Ross. Most of us probably didn't either the first time round. Like the rest of us he will grow on you and you will eventually love his character. Keep on expressing yourself honestly.
David the nerd is played by Hank Azaria, the guy who voices a bunch of Simpsons characters and is Young Patches O’Hoolahan in Dodgeball Also, Minsk is in Belarus, not Russia, although Friends first aired in 1994 and the USSR only dissolved in 1991 so kinda understandable, especially for Americans
Hi!! It's ok you don't like Ross now. I mean at first I was like you by thinking he was a little bit annoying and jealous. However, you will learn to love him. I garantee that. He is a character that we love and hate at the same time and that's why David Schwimmer's acting is so perfect.
Listen Quokka. We know you've made it clear in a pinned comment in the previous Friends reaction that you don't dislike Ross just some of the things he does! The problem here is that those "things" you have MISINTERPRETED (which I'm not going to go into the details since a whole bunch of these comments have already done that) and we are saying it with all due respect! We are not hating you, we just want you to understand that!
I think it’s important to set the record straight here, once and for all about what all of these people are trying to convey to IcedQuokka: The bottom line is, yes, this is nothing more than a tv show with fictional, but beloved characters that have flaws that are flaws solely written intentionally for the purposes of comedic relief for entertainment value. It’s more about how these human relationships are being perceived that is the cause for concern. One gender is not guilty by association. All deserve a fair trial, and are found to be innocent until proven guilty. Not guilty until proven innocent. We must, as a civilized society find the greater weight of credible evidence to be supported, before a prosecution is made. I think the people have spoken, and all they really want from you, is a little faith.
I don't care how "annoying" Janice is supposed to be, I'd be happy to have such a kind, patient person as a girlfriend. Kudos to Maggie Wheeler for playing the role right on the line of annoying and endearing.
I’m happy you’re continuing the show and just know you’re not the only one who struggles to like Ross. I’m not a big fan of him either. I’m a big fan of the actor that plays Ross. I find Ross’s character to be so toxic though.
I don't understand why this comment section is filled with Ross defenders. Maybe because David Schwimmer is hilarious in this show. His physical comedy is on point. Ross is funny, but if you look at his actions, he's not always the "good guy" people make him out to be. He is very self-involved ("Hi."-"That guy says Hi and I want to kill myself", he has a bad day-everybody else has to have a bad day) Now, I like him, bc he's funny, but god I wouldn't want to be friends with him. I guess, people have a lot of nostalgia for this character and David Schwimmer is a great, sympathetic actor, but that doesn't make your criticism any less valid. Glad to see you enjoy Friends, you're a great reactor imo and I will definitely continue watching your reactions!
I feel people defend him because he has done nothing wrong at this point. He isn't close to being my favourite character but I'll defend him if he is being hated for literally nothing. And, I don't mean to sound harsh (don't know how I come off in text) but your example isn't a good one. First of, he had more than just a "bad day", his love of 7/8 years left him after cheating on him, and finding out she is a lesbian, that's really hard. And he isn't looking for others to have a bad day with him (you are taking Joey's joke too seriously), he lets his sister, who could have more responsability over him than his friends (not responsability but I don't know how to put it), go to her date despite being so depressed I won't defend him farther down the series but right now it makes no sense to hate him, maybe don't vibe as much as with the rest, but hate him for every sentence is too much
@@tesshh1 I get your point and yes, maybe my example really wasn't the best, what I meant, was that sometimes, when he has a bad day,he makes it everybody's problem, too and I don't say,you shouldn't complain about to your friends, but there is a point, where it comes across as whiny and annoying. I don't think,he does it conciously(I don't know how to spell that word,English is my second language,so sorry for that) "Hate" is a big word,I agree, however I don't think she means it
@@athena8335 I agree, he isn't my favourite friend, but at this point in the story he has done nothing wrong, that's my point. If you are refering to the day he was sad because it was the anniversary of his and carol's first time, I may get it, but again, I don't think it's that big of a deal
@@tesshh1have you given a thought that sometimes David plays Ross in an obnoxious way (great actor) and that's what she and other reactors don't like about him, even though at this point in the show Ross hasn't had as many fck ups as he'll eventually end up having later on? Some people just do not vibe with the way Ross acts, the way he says things etc. He can come across very whiny and it isn't shocking people don't like that personality trait. He also diplays "Nice Guy" features. I just don't understand why people are so confused on why she isn't really liking him, it's pretty clear to see why. I didn't like a lot of what Ross said and what he was about but I found him hilarious 10+ years ago and when I rewatched in 2021. That never changes. The other thing that doesn't change for me is how irritating he can be. I don't have a favorite friend. I think they're all flawed, funny, obnoxious etc.
@@lonetardigrade If she said something about that then sure, I'll give it to you, the portreyal isn't for everyone, especially nowadays. But she hates on him every time he says something without considering anything else. Again, Ross was never my favourite, and I get not vining like with the rest of the characters, but to just hate on him and calling him an asshole for nothing is another thing
The funniest part about this is Ross was far and away the most hated character in the show for years... But recently there's been a Ross defense brigade. I personally like Ross but here reactions to him are pretty par for the course
I don’t know if it’s just like a thing you do with men, due to your own issues, but people are going to take issue and likely offense with you calling Ross and Chandler “assholes” all the time. *Especially considering the fact that Matthew Perry recently passed, and a lot of people were fond of him and would want to honor his memory.*
@ But it’s the characters which are beloved, fan favorites. Not the real people behind them. ie; I love to watch Blake Lively on the big screen. She’s electric. A Simple Favor, The Shallows, The Age of Adeline. You Betcha. In real life? You couldn’t pay me to sit in a room with her.
@ I’d also like to say that I’m not attacking you. I find you to be a pleasant, attractive and charismatic person, whom I like. We’re all debating. That’s all. Hopefully we all learn something from each other. We’re just having a difference of opinion, and though I may get passionate, I will still show you the respect you deserve.
Like other commenters have said, I think you're being very unfair to Ross. Carol literally cheated on him and then she and the woman she cheated with undermined his role in HIS child's life. The "Bobo the sperm guy" comment was a joke but it was still disrespectful, and again undermining his role as the father. Also, why wouldn't he be a part of the child's life? He's not some deadbeat father who left Carol all alone. If Susan was a man, no one would expect Ross to just be okay with all of this. The writers just focused so much on the lesbian thing because of the time and it made for good laughs. (Speaking of, at that time bisexuality wasn't really talked about that much but Carol may have very well been bi. However, lots of gays and lesbians were in relationships/married to the opposite sex before they came out and loved their partner on some level, even if they weren't 'attracted' to them in that way). Anyway, Susan still wasn't as mean in this episode. The situation is unconvential and awkward but that last moment was so cute. As the pregnant person, I'm sure the talking to your belly gets annoying after some time but I think it's sweet when parents want their baby to know their voice. Also, I don't know if you noticed but this is a different actress for Carol to the one in E2, which was Anita Barone. She was looking for a role as a series regular and was later cast as Karen Foxworthy in The Jeff Foxworthy Show. From here on out Carol is played by Jane Sibbett. Both of these episodes are two of my favourite episodes in the entire series. I'm with you about Monica in E9. She's literally the mum of the group and bears ALL the responsibilty. And about the keys thing, Monica clearly said "Got the keYs?" in a questioning manner, so I'm with her on that one. The other friends pissed me off a bit (especially Rachel) but Chandler had some hilarious remarks and the ending was so sweet. Growing up in Iceland we didn't really celebrate Thanksgiving and it isn't a National Holiday. But for a few years I did go to a potluck at my church, where everyone brought a side dish, dessert or drinks (we usually brought sweet potatoes) and the church provided the turkey. There was also a tradition where we wrote on a piece of paper what we were thankful for. It hasn't been held since before Covid and I honestly don't know why. It was very chill and cozy. I LOVE Janice. She was like supposed to be this character everyone hated but she's so funny and likeable. Also you kind of feel sorry for her. I love Chandler but he doesn't treat Janice very well and he never appreciates her while he has her. I think he loves her on some level but is not IN love with her. It's this kind of familiarity thing. Fun fact: Maggie Wheeler (Janice) accidentally let out that iconic laugh, mainly due to Matthew Perry and his comedic skills, which was added to the character. David Schwimmer actually hated working with the monkey (who was played by two different monkeys), but mainly because of how much the animal trainers dictated their time on set and wouldn't let him bond with them. David came under fire for those comments, specifically from Mike Morris, the animal trainer who worked on Friends, who called the actor "despicable" and claimed he was "jealous" of them. Fun facts: E9 is called a "bottle episode" where the crew has a limited budget. This is why most of it takes place in Monica and Rachel's apartment and is also why it consists of mostly the main cast. David the scientist guy is played by Hank Azaria who voiced several characters on The Simpsons and been in lots of movies. He has suffered from alcoholism and credits Matthew Perry, his longtime friend, for helping him get sober. I love David and he and Phoebe are so cute together! But it always bothered me how they said Minsk is in Russia, when it is, in fact, in Belarus, which has been independent from the Soviet Union since 1991 (three years prior to this episode), which is when Minsk was declared the capital. Lisa Kudrow comes from Belarusian descent (along with German, Polish and Hungarian). Shiny Happy People by R.E.M. which is played in the beginning of the New Year's Eve party scene was the original theme song from the pilot before it was later replaced by I'll Be There For You by The Rembrandts. The show was also called "Friends Like Us" and the coffee house was called "Espresso" then. You can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/t7udpZG1Nu4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ynmLT9H6sagI365y. It's not bad but it just doesn't fit imo. And the song that plays when Joey's poster is seen all over is Don't Stand So Close To Me by The Police. The band's drummer is Stewart Copeland, whose uncle Hunter Copeland was married to Courteney Cox's (Monica) mum at the time of his death in 2005.
You know so many interesting facts! I thought I was a FAN and i’m an American. I think it’s sweet that someone who lives in Iceland wants to, and has gotten to celebrate Thanksgiving. Side note: Have you ever met Bjork? lol Anyway, I was trying to think of actual “toxic” characters on this show, because I love most of them.. I’d say Chandler’s boss comes to mind. (That’s all I will say to avoid spoilers) But yeah, he was the true definition of the word. BING! You know who i’m talking about. Speaking of “Bottle Episodes": I LOVE The One Where No One Is Ready. It’s like watching a live play. I think it’s good that they replaced Anita Barone. She was pretty forgettable as Carol. I much prefer Jane Sibbett. EDIT: I just thought of something. For those that don’t know, The song Ross was singing to his baby was to the tune of the theme from the show/band, The Monkees. It only just occurred to me that it makes total sense he would choose that, given the pet he has chosen as his companion. Honestly, my honest personal opinion is that when it comes to the Susan, Carol and Ross dynamic, I love them all, and I understand where each of them is coming from. I think for the most part, they are all behaving in a realistic way. It’s a complicated situation for anyone to be in, and not to mention, there is a baby involved. I will say that I think it’s a bit problematic for Susan to try to prioritize her role over Ross’s considering it is THEIR child and she IS the other woman, who technically contributed to breaking up their marriage. She’s a bit of a homewrecker, lol. But other than that, I think Susan and Ross love each other, whether they will ever admit it, or not.
@@Heida77 Appreciate your comment and response, and it’s nice to see you here and your lovely familiar face. If you look, you’ll see we have a lot of Reactor channels in common.
I'm loving this take on a fresh full watch of the show, Ross rubbing you the wrong way is so amusing. You're not alone btw, I didn't like first season Ross very much either. He's too needy
i’ve watched friends more than ten times and ross is my least favourite too, but i gotta say his condition with his ex wife and her gf is complicated and he isnt completely in the wrong in these early episodes.
I really enjoy your reactions to my favorite show. I think people are overreacting. I like Ross but i dont mind you disliking him. It is pretty fun still. Looking forward to more.
Ross IS super competitive with Susan, and at first I get it, she was the “other woman,” but at the end of the day Carol was incapable of loving Ross. She’s gay. Carol should have left Ross and not cheated once she realized, but I really don’t blame Susan for Carol’s choices. After a while it comes across as really weird just how much Ross hates Susan. It’s creepy and excessive. From a modern lens, he comes the closest to being an incel.
Susan also chose to be the other woman, they are both in the wrong, of course Carol a bit more, but she consented to cheat, if it were a guy he'd be in the wrong too
I think youre being too harsh on Ross, especially when it comes to Carol and Susan. She cheated on him, and left him for her affair partner, and he's expected to be okay with it because she left him for a woman, not a man. To top it off, they don't give him any respect when it comes to the baby. Not even considering including his last name, calling him "bobo the sperm guy" when talking to the baby, etc.
For everyone hating on her cause she hasnt come around to ross yet, trust me just wait, remember if you want to know more she's about 8 episodes ahead on patreon just sayin 🤷
while yall are yapping in the comments, Im haappy finally someone can see how toxic Ross is, because HE IS. He isnt the worst person ever but behaving like a child isnt correct in any situation when youre an adult. Everyone in friends has a moment where they are absolute assholes, just because you cant handle criticism towards your favourite character doesnt give you the right to literally verbally attack a random person on the internet. Everyone has their own opinions, and everyone has the right to voice them, you like it or not. Grow tf up.
I don't think most of you women using this word so casually, know what “toxic” even really is. For example, Let’s say you hypothetically dated a narcissist. Or someone with a borderline personality disorder. Then you’ll see real toxicity from the receiving end, regardless of whose fault it is.. It certainly isn’t as simple as being boiled down to petty jealousy, because then *everyone* would be guilty of being “toxic.” I don’t get why people have to always bring their political and social agendas into something like FICTIONAL TV characters. I have no major issues with Ross. If someone, anyone does something stupid, I call them on it. I never had a problem with Susan or Carol, I think Susan is sweet. She just likes getting the best of Ross, because she is also jealous. I think most characters on this show are lovable to a fault. I think these people were all written with care, so that they would be lovable, but with flaws. Like all humans.
@@adnap starting with "you women" already said all I needed to know my guy! Anyways, to answer you: everyone has their own idea of toxicity and I believe ANYONE can be toxic, but just to show you that I do understand, even tho I shouldnt have to.. my father is a narcissist and an alcoholic, both diagnosed, I KNOW toxic. And what about this is political??? Literally nothing about what I said is political. I think Ross sucks because most of his actions and the things he say would make me run away from him but we all have different views. But not all characters were written to be lovable (with flaws or not), because they were just written for us, the society take our own approach to them... why I commented and why IM ANNOYED its because if I was putting myself out there, watching something for my first time and giving my opinions out loud for entertainment just to get attacked over a fictional character.. I wouldnt feel happy, Im just trying to make people understand it isnt okay to just offend someone over their own thoughts on something, specially when they dont affect you-
@@wolfroarxx6055 Not all of my points were directed at “you” in particular. They were mostly based off of IcedQuokka’s based impressions. Just because I called out “women” tells you nothing about me. I am a gentleman and all for social equality, and I only call out the behaviors of said groups, not their genders. But that’s what you took from it. I was merely pointing out that from my view, what I’m seeing from IQ, is that she feels more comfortable with women. Considering she has nothing but admiration and complimentary commentary for Phoebe, Rachel and Monica, and Chandler and Ross have already been called A-Holes, yes, it looks a bit like the scales are tipped. I apologize if my comments on situations with said disorders were personal for you. I had considered the fact that I don’t know what you’ve been through personally. I just think that a lot of words get thrown around a bit too casually at times.
Pheobe is my favourite I love her wackie songs. Rachel my least favourite bit to much of narcissist for me. Ross is one of them that think he knows everything when in truth he knows nothing . chandler Monica, joey. Make friends work
I understand you had a similar situation or were in relationships with guys who might be similar to Ross. So you immediately don’t like his character or his mannerisms. I GET IT. But also just judging him or saying things like he’s jealous or toxic whenever he’s on screen just for me as viewer just kind of frustrates me a bit. I respect your opinions and your perspective, but again Ross went through A LOT and has to still navigate through this messy separation with his ex-wife who has lied, cheated, and left him out on certain decisions pertaining to his child with another woman who she left him for… that is A LOT to take in and of course he would be upset and jealous. His ego, pride, and heart has been stomped on and he has to piece everything back together. Can he be childish and quite petty? YES of course, but again he’s still trying to figure things out. AGAIN.. he has his really good sweet moments, but then he reverts to being insecure and jealous because of what happened with Carol. He feels that he’s never going to be good enough or that he’s going to be cheated on or left behind. In which will be one of his downfalls in the show and ruins good things for him. But he’s not the only one who has his flaws and had bad moments, the other characters go through their lulls and aren’t as likable. Also, everyone has their preferences in who is their favorite character or characters in the show. It won’t always be the same, but for me.. i see the good and bad in all of them. They all bring something different with their characters and they all have their issues/insecurities/immaturity. I got annoyed or frustrated with certain characters in the show when they get petty or repeating cycles, but it’s part of their character development. There are certain storylines where I felt the show and development kind of fell off and it was just not needed. But that tends to happen for a long running series.😆😆

It’s literally a sitcom. I can’t even imagine if this show came out today. Thx god it came out during the 90s where people were taking stuff like a joke. The guy gets cheated on, his marriage fails, the wife is pregnant and the partner is not even mentioning his name to his unborn child. So yeah he's got all the reason to get jealous over it.
🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Very easy to understand one would think. I guess its not so easy for some people.
6:45 Well he was cheated on so I think being a little insecure with the person that your wife (of 7/8 years) cheated with, and treats him like he is the problem (not even saying his name to HIS child), not to mention they got everything (apartment, furniture, etc), is more than justifyable
BTW Ross isn't near my favourite character (I do love David as an actor, he has the best comidic timing) but objectibly he is doing nothing wrong at this point of the story
I don't get how she doesn't at least understand Ross's situation. She seems to understand everybody else.
The “bobo the spermguy” was a joke! Susan wasn’t being serious 😂 how does no one in these comments recognize sarcasm??
@@LiaaaaaaaaAAAAAHH Because she has shown in many diffferent ways that she hates him, so her saying that sounds believable. In my family we almost always use sarcasm, my dad is basically Chandler, and I didn't think it was (unlike the lesbian course) but even if it is, doesn't make everything else better
@@tesshh1 She doesn't hate him. Her girlfriend is having his child so she's insecure.
Ross is the best character.. (for me). David Schwimmer also is one of the best actor
I agree but I’m happy it’s not a popular opinion and I do like how this show presents different characters for different types of ppl to identify with 😊
He’s my favorite too.
I don’t understand the hate towards Ross……🤷🏻♀️
Yeah. It’s really bizarre
He's kinda toxic, I do even though I dont share it
I have never been a fan of Ross. He’s so toxic!
He is toxic but he has great moments. Rachel is very toxic as well. Love them both.
Even when it originally aired, some of my friends and my mom all hated Ross, so she's not alone. lol
I don't understand hate for Ross
I hate Susan and ex wife...,I can't remember her name and I watched Friends 5 times from the Pilot to the end!!!
And I don't care....Ross is GREAT and he deserve better from the show.Thank you.Bye.🫡
Ross: *breathes*
IcedQ: Oh my God Ross is so toxic!
Yo its okay its only a show calm down
Um... you do realize the "sperm guy" was clearly a joke...? Sarcasm exists
I don't think she's in a position to make jokes, that's straight f*cked up@@LiaaaaaaaaAAAAAHH
VD was short for Venereal Disease, the old name used for STD.
The old name fell into disuse because Veneral means "of women", as if men contracted it from women and not the other way around.
New terminology is gender neutral and scientifically more accurate as it refers to the act and not the people =)
Ooooo that’s interesting! Glad they changed it ahahaha
@icedquokka it was about time as medical terms shouldn't be passing judgement or picking sides xD
Fun fact: that word has the same root as Venus (goddess of love) and Veneration (worshipping).

Rachel would disagree with that in later episodes. Just saying.
@@horsepower523 And she would be wrong.
@@bartUsiek10 Wow: the infamous Ross/Rachel disagreement continues by online proxy decades later...
@@dupersuper1938 as it should 😂
@@horsepower523 Yeah, and for the most part Rachel is kind of trash.
"Why does he have a monkey?"
Almost everyone involved with the show and fans both ask the same thing to this day... lol
It's hilarious when Phoebe said "I know where Minsk is" cause the actress, Lisa Kudrow, was actually born in Belarus (then Belorussia, part of the Soviet Union). I love it when they incorporate actors' background into show. Thanks!
Kudrow's ancestors are from Minsk but herself born in Encino, Los Angeles.
Girl stay tuned for Rachel and Chandler pairings! Rare but wonderful! And a fan favorite it seems.
I love all their interactions! Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry were also very close. They were friends for years before this and Matthew Perry had a huge crush on her for a long time 🥰
😂😂😂
I find it funny how i see so many reactors on friends hate on the girls unfairly with zero mention in the comments. But the moment one reactor is against one of the guys, suddenly everyone is angry.
The actor playing David, the scientist guy that Pheebs likes, is Hank Azaria. He's the voice of a lot of Simpsons characters, such as Chief Wiggum, Moe Szyslak, and Duffman. :)
He was almost cast as Chandler
My parents never let me watch the Simpsons when I was younger ahaha 🥲
@@chrisrandall2710 Given how Chandler dresses and acts, Hank would have been a perfect alternative for that role.
@@icedquokkaNow you are ignoring what people are telling you about your "I hate Ross" obsession
This.
I couldn't stand ross when I first watched this show, but now he's one of my favs 😀 ntm on chandler pls he's an icon 😩🤩✨
Just glad to see someone experiencing this legendary show for the first time.
Monica is amazing. In the thanksgiving episode she was not just working on the foods but Rachel's ticket was also her idea.
It's perfectly ok if you don't like Ross. Most of us probably didn't either the first time round. Like the rest of us he will grow on you and you will eventually love his character. Keep on expressing yourself honestly.
Not only that, she may even grow to dislike Rachel!
@christianciv1998 I dislike something from each character. They're all flawed. They're all still funny and interesting though.
David the nerd is played by Hank Azaria, the guy who voices a bunch of Simpsons characters and is Young Patches O’Hoolahan in Dodgeball
Also, Minsk is in Belarus, not Russia, although Friends first aired in 1994 and the USSR only dissolved in 1991 so kinda understandable, especially for Americans
Many years from now, when you finish Friends, you will have to try to remember to watch the Friends Honest Trailer
I think it’s important to set the record straight here, once and for all about what all of these people are trying to convey to IcedQuokka:
The bottom line is, yes, this is nothing more than a tv show with fictional, but beloved characters that have flaws that are flaws solely written intentionally for the purposes of comedic relief for entertainment value.
If you like toxic personalities and characters who may be considered arseholes, I highly recommend ‘it’s always sunny in Philadelphia’

Subscribed for Friends! Keep going girl, worth it.
Thank you for your support!! I really appreciate it 🤍🤍🤍🤍
I don't understand why this comment section is filled with Ross defenders.
And he isn't looking for others to have a bad day with him (you are taking Joey's joke too seriously), he lets his sister, who could have more responsability over him than his friends (not responsability but I don't know how to put it), go to her date despite being so depressed
I won't defend him farther down the series but right now it makes no sense to hate him, maybe don't vibe as much as with the rest, but hate him for every sentence is too much
@@tesshh1 I get your point and yes, maybe my example really wasn't the best, what I meant, was that sometimes, when he has a bad day,he makes it everybody's problem, too and I don't say,you shouldn't complain about to your friends, but there is a point, where it comes across as whiny and annoying. I don't think,he does it conciously(I don't know how to spell that word,English is my second language,so sorry for that)
"Hate" is a big word,I agree,however I don't think she means it
@@athena8335 I agree, he isn't my favourite friend, but at this point in the story he has done nothing wrong, that's my point.
19:26 The irony is that it's the capital of Belarus nowadays
Im calling the characters assholes not the actors, that’s common sense I fear

hey can you please put gloves on and do a reaction to shows and movies
Side note: Have you ever met Bjork? lol
Anyway,
I was trying to think of actual “toxic” characters on this show, because I love most of them.. I’d say Chandler’s boss comes to mind. (That’s all I will say to avoid spoilers) But yeah, he was the true definition of the word. BING! You know who i’m talking about.
Speaking of “Bottle Episodes":
I LOVE The One Where No One Is Ready.
@adnap Thanks! And no, I've never met Björk 😂 And 100% agree with everything you said.

Not liking Ross is incredibly valid in the early seasons (and honestly most of the show).

i’ve watched friends more than ten times and ross is my least favourite too, but i gotta say his condition with his ex wife and her gf is complicated and he isnt completely in the wrong in these early episodes.
Susan also chose to be the other woman, they are both in the wrong, of course Carol a bit more, but she consented to cheat, if it were a guy he'd be in the wrong too
Lovely reaction as always! And don't worry, a lot of people dislike Ross. Though I hope you give him a chance, he has a very sweet side.
I understand not being a fan of Ross. Ross and Rachel take turns being my least favourite although they are both very funny at times.
Great content. Love it. But i don't think in every possible sense that Ross is an asshole. But again, that's just me.
Grow tf up.
Everyone has their little vices. The point of having friends is that they can see past said vices and support each other and laugh with each other.
I don't think most of you women using this word so casually, know what “toxic” even really is.
For example, Let’s say you hypothetically dated a narcissist. Or someone with a borderline personality disorder. Then you’ll see real toxicity from the receiving end, regardless of whose fault it is.. It certainly isn’t as simple as being boiled down to petty jealousy, because then *everyone* would be guilty of being “toxic.”
I don’t get why people have to always bring their political and social agendas into something like FICTIONAL TV characters.
@ 100%
Humans are flawed. That doesn’t mean we’re all wicked lol

But that tends to happen for a long running series.😆😆
y'all writing whole essays as if she's screaming at ross and hating on him like crazy
shes been smiling like the whole time, at worst she finds him annoying but shes hardly hating on him rn
you're doing great! Love you're reactions!
Guys cmon I wanted to read some comments about these 2 episodes and not 90% of them being “why you should love Ross”
😂😭 hope you enjoyed the video tho 🙏🏼
@ I did, thank you 😊 hope you will enjoy the show too now that you are a villain apparently 🤣
Guys, she's a human, she can have a bias. It's against Ross.
It would be as annoying if it was for a good reason. But it’s not
@bartUsiek10 you mean, it wouldn't be as annoying if it was for a good reason right?
@@ninadganore correct
@bartUsiek10 bias is unreasoned and unfair by default.
@@ninadganore doesn’t have to be.
Joey was way ahead of his time... LGBT icon vibes even though he's hetero
YASSSSS
Please don't listen to all the maladjusted commenters complaining about how you perceive Ross. You are right, and they're ignoring massive red flags about what a horrible, toxic, awful human being Ross is (at this point in the show).
@@jawbone78 everyone is fine if you don’t like Ross, but when it’s for the wrong reasons that’s when ppl in the comments get frustrated. She’s making Ross to be the bad guy in a situation where he is the good guy. He was married and got cheated on but finds out that his ex wife is pregnant with his child, yet they refer to Ross as a sperm donor which is very heartless and disrespectful. They were basically telling Ross that during this whole time we were getting together making plans while you get pregnant so we can raise this child without ur last name and not being a father.
@@jawbone78 ofc ofc ross gets cheated on, he isn't considered as an important aspect for the baby and he's the jealous and toxic guy. Yeah that makes complete sense my guy. It's not like rachel did anything to damage ross' further relationships. I mean god how supportive was her when ross found julie too bad it didn't worked out for some "unknown" reasons. Oh man and emily that was indeed a "confusing" situation, if it wasn't for someone that landed in london that night ross would've married emily fr.
But yeah ross is a massive red flag and he is a bad friend and a bad father. Totally crazy AF,i mean who in the ever loving duck would take care of their cheating exs' child right 😂. Massive red flag ross
Wow.
You guys are seriously not right in the head if you think this is red flag’s territory at this point. Stop being a kiss ass to the reviewers to get in the good graces. You will never gain importance for her so stop trying 😂 idgit
Phoebe is by far the best character in FRIENDS but Ross OMG cannot stand him you'll see the further you go on with the show you'll see what I mean. The way he treats women are disgusting
Not as disgusting as joey!!
It’s literally a sitcom. I can’t even imagine if this show came out today. Thx god it came out during the 90s where people were taking stuff like a joke. Also Ross is one of the best characters in the show. Ross doesn’t even treat them bad because there’s a girl in this show that breaks every single one of his relationships but carry on.
@@Martin-u9e wow thank god for not making me a fucking softie. Ross was annoying at times same as everyone at certain points in the show. Phoebe creates rifts between the friends at times, pheobe is insensitive to joey at times and her character growth is the most inconsistent one.
Ross is annoying at times too BUT the guy is a great father and a hell of a good friend. Ross-rachel relationship was toxic ah both of them had their own downpoints BUT rachel sabotaged ross from almost every good relationship. I mean julie? Mona? Emily?
Sure ross is the worst one and he treats women like trash. You're probably watching something else mate
Hahaha wow I couldn’t disagree more. I tolerate Phoebe more now but when it was airing she was my least fave by a mile. I agreed with Rachel about the “lifting right out” part. And Ross’s carrying of episodes and physical comedy is unmatched the further you go imo 😂
@ricka5714 I'm sorry I can't get behind liking Ross I just can't stand him
can u speak normally
That’s her accent . You want her to change her accent for you now? 🤦🏻♀️
@@ninipookie not talking about accent.
