It warms my heart to know Max loves "Shredder" Sub-Zero as much as I do. To me, that is GRANDMASTER Sub-Zero. You get kidnapped by the Lin Kuei and they drag your tied up ass into a large room, they toss you to the ground and you look up...and THAT'S the guy who's sitting on the frozen throne.
Shredder Sub-Zero was fucking stupid looking. You and Max need to get better taste.

The Mytholigies Sub-Zero is identical to the MK4 design because Kuai Liang is wearing his brothers clothes in honor of him. I actually dig it for that reason.
The MK4 costumes are terrible especially for Scorpion and Subzero with those ugly ass cat like ears on there mask

Deception Sub Zero is the absolute coolest he's ever looked, why hasn't Shredder been a guest character yet!?

Watching Max’s series of these has definitely shown me that I’m the opposite of him when it comes to character design. He seems to often prefer what I would consider to be overdesigned and busy and I tend to prefer what I view as more simple and streamlined.
Same here cool to see people having different taste and look for things but I’m more like you though I liked the simple look more
I think he just likes cool looking stuff like he even acknowledges the over design but it still looks cool

Which is weird because he has derided certain designs for being overdesigned and busy.
His opinions are very inconsistent. He made videos with the yo video games crew and completely changed his mind.
Sub-Zero has always been my favorite character in MK. Being a TMNT fan, I loved his Deception outfit.
Here is the thing with the change with Sub Zero: the actor who played the ninja, Daniel Pensia l, was fired for using his character as Johnny Cage to promote a rival fighting character. Likewise, many people who play Subby in 2 dont believe the fact that he was Kuai Liang so to proof that 2's Sub Zero was not the same as 1, they gave him a big change to establish that this sub is not the same as bi han.

Tbh sub has my favorite design out of the Lin Kuei ninjas in mk1, it’s the shoulder pads that really do it for me. I think the shoulder pads actually being present and having shape that goes out makes it look a lot less like pajamas. Still love all the designs tho NRS did a great job.
Deception’s Shredder armor is his best look so far, with Kuai Liang’s MK9 look being my 2nd favorite. If he has to go maskless, his best is X with the beard and blank white eyes. My issue with the maskless look is I always prefer him with longer hair like how he looked in his end game cinematic in MK 2 and the MK Annihilation movie. I’m not the biggest fan of how Cyber looks, but I love his move set and how his Kori Blade looks. 
This series is so perfect. Taps into why I loved the old Rate The Kostume videos so much but takes a new angle by honing on the design progression rather than one game at a time. Sooo good. Some of the best content to come out of any MK hype cycle
The "Batman Ears" didn't come in MK4, they were actually around since MK1. The comic/character book art has the ears. The 1995 cartoon thing had them, I know some of the toys had them. They've always been there back then.
Honestly Deception Sub-Zero was his most unique and awesome look imo and I am just happy they acknowledged its existance and added it in MK11.
Fun fact! John Parish, the unmasked Kuai Liang actor in MK3 also played the roles of every other pallette swap ninja in UMK3!

I've always liked Sub-Zero and my fav design is his MKX default one
Sub Zerro is my favorite design of the 3 Lin Kuei Ninjas in MK1. It's simple, but it's got enough extra details like the ice hands and the shoulder pads that make is stick out from Scorpion and and Smoke. It's the perfect blend of detail and simplicity

I absolutely ADORE Injustice 2 Sub-Zero. Seriously almost tied with Deception Sub as my favorite design. Deception Sub is just too dope so i can’t quite put them even. But I loooove Injustice 2 Sub-Zero.
He was also my main in that game.
Sub-Zero, my favorite ninja warrior of all time. Even ed boon said that when he created him that he wanted to give the players a free hit when he froze his opponents.

Sub-Zero’s win pose in the 1st game is the exact same as Scorpion
The reason Mythologies and MK4 are identical because it's the exact same wardrobe. Bi-Han wore this in Mythologies with the simplistic choice being deliberate to reference MK1 (1992) since the game takes place before it. It's basically an updated version of that. Kuai Liang took up his older brother's outfit in MK4 to finish what he started and help Raiden fend against Shinnok's forces. Keep in mind he's still a deserter of the Lin Kuei at this point in time. The outfit is more for his brother than them.
Shredder Sub just can't be topped. I also must admit that I'm a huge fan of the Kold War Tundra Sub-Zero. I think its fuckin kool...

With the amount of changes sub has gone through it almost feels canon considering he always tries to explain the Lin kuei TOTALLY ARENT NINJAS. My man did his best to convince people over the years that he’s just given in recently and accepted it

I’ll always love the klassic Sub-Zero looks from MK1 up to UMK3/Trilogy. But my all-time favourite outfit is his 1995 MK movie look. I don’t know, I just love it. Very simple, yet very satisfying with the klassic slick blue tunic, the nicely crafted design of the mask, and the sleeves are a welcome addition too.
I legit love Injustice 2, Sub-Zero,so much more than Scorpion's design in Injustice 1. Shredder Sub-Zero, Ice Arms, Old Man MK11, all are just great looks for him.

Why the hell NRS doesnt just give us the option to have ALL of a characters costumes throughout that characters history as dlc packs is beyond me, if it isnt stupidly priced like most mtx's are than it would single handedly hold up the MK development financially to make MK1 last a lifetime.

MK1x I think gave the characters this younger look to them. Most look around 24-27ish. So hopefully, in 3 years, they get beef-ier, stronger, faster, and their designs grow with them.

Injustice 2 Sub-Zero is my favorite fighting game character ever. I absolutely love his design and the gear made it even better. Someday, if I have the money, I want to get a poster or a figure or something of my specific Sub-Zero in IJ2

Personally, I think the BEST Sub-Zero designs (for both brothers) are the MK Legends designs from both films. Which are basically stylized versions of the MKX & MK9 costumes.
