- An hour-long instructional video that breaks down how to convert dosages using Dimensional Analysis.
Here is the link to the text for some of the problems that I went through in this video: www.straightanu...
Here are a few sites to look through for a bit more practice:

Let me start off saying Im horrible at math and when we had our instructor come in to teach this to us, I just didn't get it at all and got super frustrated and shut down! They literally only taught us this in 2.5 1 hour sessions! We took our dosage calculation test and I gave up and bombed it. Thank God we have 3 tries! They aren't teaching it to us anymore so I decided to take matters into my own hands and use old faithful youtube! I'm soooooooo glad i found this video! I don't know if its the way you taught it or broke it down but not only did i understand it but I mastered it!!!!! This is so important for nurses to know so we don't kill anyone lol! Thank you thank you thank you and I will be sharing with a whole cohort of frustrated student nurses!
You are Awesome. This is indeed dosage calculation made easy. I was afraid until I listen to your teaching. God Bless. Jack
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IN NURSING SCHOOL. THEY JUST ASSUMED WE KNEW HOW TO DO IT, AND REALLY DIDN'T HAVE A TEACHER WHO KNEW HOW TO TEACH DOSE CALC. WE HAD THE WORST BOOK EVER AND I WAS BLESSED WITH A VIDEO FROM KAPLAN THAT CHANGED MY LIFE! I HOPE ALL IS WELL AND YOU ARE DONE WITH SCHOOL .
Im not taking any class of nursing yet.
I'm not great at math either, and trying to get in into nursing this fall 2020
I'm freaking out completely but at the same time I'm excited.
Any more tips I'll gladly appreciated

I keep coming back to this video at the beginning of every semester to review the questions and get an A in every test each time. Thanks!
I struggled a lot with math dosage calculation but when i came across Allisha's unique way 0f teaching this dosage calculation and listened to it twice , in fact the fear of failing math calculation in Nclex RN Exam gone ! I now have the courage to tackle any calculation challenges that will come my way. Allisha you are God's sent. Bravo ! bravo !! bravo !!!
I've looked at sooooo many DA videos to show my nursing students and this is far and away the best.
"My Life is 💐🌼Beautiful and Easy", yes.. 😊Thank You Allisha!
YOU JUST SAVED MY LIFE💗💗💗 I had no previous experience with dimensional analysis and my drug calculation test were suffering 😩 This video just changed the game!! You explained EVERYTHING SO WELL!! All my Nursing buddies will be flooding your page now because I’m telling EVERYBODY!!! Thank You So Much!! You have no idea!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
She is awesome in explaining this. I wish she had more videos, I enjoyed watching, learning and practicing with her so much, I want more. Such a pleasant learning experience. Please do more videos
You have literally made my day with understanding dosage and calculations. I honestly freaked out just by the thought but I have the a good general understanding now. I am 1000 times more confident in studying it now and feel good that I will definitely pass my test. Thanks bunches
I NEVER leave comments… I just want to say this was amazing and thank you so much. I had bad anxiety about dosage calculations, I LOVE the way you explained everything in full detail, plus your humor made it easy to understand.
HIGHLY recommend this video!! Out of all the nursing videos I watched, she really broke it down perfectly! Sharing with all my classmates!
This video has helped me so much with understanding the Dimensional Analysis Method. I paused the video and solved the problems on my own to see if I was doing them correctly and BOOM! LoL I sure did! Thank you so much for the help!!
This was awesome!!! I have been a Nurse a long time and am terrible at the Math problems. Others in the nursing field have taught me by their videos or in class and I never really understood the proper way to do it. I feel I finally understand how to do it due to the way you teach it. Thanks so much.
I have been a nurse for almost 20 years and I have only been able to do nurse math by ratio and proportion. I have NEVER been able to correctly work a problem by using dimensional analysis! I am now a nurse educator, so I have to teach dimensional analysis. 15 minutes into your video, I got it. Thank you for making this process much easier!
So thankful for you and this video. Every time I need a refresher I come back here, esp the night before a dosage calculations exam, AKA tonight. Lol Bless you!
Same!
You are amazing! Thank you.. You have made it fun and simple. Needed to brush up on my dosage calculations for my upcoming RN exam
This is profoundly awesome! Allisha, thank you- for making D/A very easy to understand and hilarious! After watching your video, I was able to completely solve a weight based time calc problems without struggle, yes!
I'm glad this video popped up. Math has no age. I'm also greatful that you are using real life scenarios where the units are all over the place. I'm practicing months ahead of time in an effort to build up my confidence for bothe classroom and the floor.
I know rushing can cause med errors and a med error can cause a problem or death

Wow this is the best video on calculations out there!!! Thank you!!!!!!
Amazing way of teaching this. And you are entertaining which makes it that much better..thank you so much 😊
FYI. The L in mL should be capitalized. I learned that a few years back in chemistry. Besides that, this is a big help.
What I never heard that!?
Thank so much this is very helpful and well understood, God blessed you for sharing your wisdom.
Im not taking any class of nursing yet.

Love your teaching style so helpful
Thank you very much. I found your class to be very infomrative.
This video was so helpful! Thank you so much for sharing this lecture. I did exactly what you said to begin with the order but the question below did not work using this method. Can you explain why?
A client with an acute myocardial infarction is admitted to the coronary care unit. The health care provider has ordered Heparin 25,000 units in 250 mL normal saline to infuse at a rate of 600 units/hour. The nurse should set the infusion pump to deliver how many milliliters in an hour?
The answer is 6 however if I set it up starting with the order as opposed to the "supply" of 600units/hour it equals 0.17
Great video, you really make it easy to understand
wonderful video! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this the correct way. You're great
You are a absolute life saver. Thank you SO MUCH.

I wish I could give one million likes.
thank you .i like the way you teach
So helpful.THANKYOU SO SO MUCH.
Thank You soooooo much. I needed this.
This is an excellent video. Thank you!
Great video but I definitely would have stressed that the amount given in a day is not relevant to that particular problem, because there are questions where the “q12hrs” etc actually do matter and factor into the answer, so I wouldn’t definitely make a note of that.
Thank you for this! Absolutely amazing!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial 🤗
Thank you so much. This helped me a lot!
Why did you not convert from kg to mg on the first weight based problem? You just crossed them out as if they are the same. I am confused!
your video helped me SOOO much! thank you X 1000!!!!
This is wonderful,finally I understand, thank u
Sooo very helpful! Thank you!!!!!
thanks for sharing the lesson!
Please can you do saline ,percentage and conversion calculations
Thank you for helping me learn this
For the problem with the answer of 0.56mL, I got the answer of 5.6 mL. Can that be explained? The top part of the equation should have been 560 mL instead of 56 mL according to the video.
If we multiply across the top, we get 1.4*4*10 = 56. Then, 56/100 = 0.56 ml. Please give that another look. The calculations are correct in the video.
Has anyone found the websites listed helpful? I start the nursing program in spring 2021
Thank you very much for the help! 10/10!!
