A couple like them won't be without land for long unless they don't bother to look. Theres just as much land sitting around as there are skilled trade jobs and a growing demand for this kind of food. I think they tried to grow their business faster than whatever bottleneck they have would allow. It's one thing to go out get land, animals, supplies and tools funded by an investor and then grow a customer base, but the numbers need to fit. The structure of the business needs to grow just as fast as everything else and thats why growing a business organically with less outside investment/debt tends to work better.
Better to get a more mature male non-relation, possibly of a different breed. Pyrenees will roam, and a more mature male might help her stay putn as well as be a breeding partner. The Rhodes property is not fenced, so this is going to be a serious problem for a young Pyrenees.
From what I've learned from Morgan Gold at Gold Shaw Farm, guardian dogs are mostly active at night when the nocturnal predators are out and about. They do bark a lot at night to warn the predators to stay away. They rarely have physical contact with the predators. They snooze during the day but will jump up at the first sound of trouble. Winnie is a great-looking dog and has a nice temperament. You should buy appropriate brushes for her coat to keep her coat from matting, which could cause skin issues.
i’ve been having 3 years of sleepless nights because my neighbors dog similar to this one never stops barking i do not condone these dogs being outside unattended for too long if you like your neighbors at all
@@XOlizzie6 if it’s in the country side, where neighbours are a car ride away, then it shouldn’t be an issue. If it’s in the burbs, well then it’s a nuisance. Same as any animal that makes noise; like roosters. Can’t be mad at someone for having an animal that does a job, and does it within legal parameters.
Beautiful breed of dog!!! I had a tear in my eye as she was put in the truck. 😢😢😢 I know you'll be gentle with her as she transitions into her new home. And what a job she did already when she saw the biker! Bravo Winnie! And the way she listened to you when you called her name so soon after getting her says a lot about how intelligent she is but even more importantly she wants to bond with you. I'm so sad for the owners having to sell everything! I will pray for them 🙏🙏🙏.
It was extremely sad. I wish that they didn’t have to redo me the dogs. But at least they will be able to see Winnie on Justin’s channel! That will help the family to see that she is being loved!
I don't know that she will be loved. Justin has mentioned several times he likes the guy whose philosophy is not to have any physical contact with a guard dog (no petting or affection, etc).
One Livestock Guardian against a Pack of Coyotes are tougher odds. Two or more bonded LSG's are too much for just about any predators and they're happiest in a bonded and trained pack . The love you've already showed her is beautiful.
The dog WILL bark at night. That's a major way they do their job. They make sure the predators know to keep moving to find an easier meal. But most guard dogs bark a lot at night. As long as your property is hers, I don't think getting out will be a big deal. She'll range the farm barking off any threats.
My Great Pyrenees roams free on our farm and she does a fantastic job with the large pack of coyotes that live around here. I haven’t lost an animal since we got got her
GP will bark at night, sometimes all night. They don't always come when called, nor follow directions unless they feel it's right. They are very affectionate & great with kids.
We lost our Pyrenees last summer, he was the best guardian dog, EVER! He was one of us and took care of the homestead. Never lost one chicken! No, they don’t bite humans and not aggressive around other animals. The only problem we had is if you looked away while outside, he helped himself to your food, inside too. It’s their instinct to care and protect. You won’t have to worry about your animals nor kids! We are looking for another. Hugs and love from Texas!
This was a tear jerker for me. I have two geriatric pyrs, littermates, who will be 11 yrs on May 29th. Winnie is awesome to have adjusted even just the little bit to be guarding so fast. Wishing you all the best as she transitions fully to part of your farm and family. And I feel grief watching the young man who is having to let go of Winnie and the rest of his animals.
"Never had a guard dog before...what do we need to know"....they bark a ton, especially on full moon nights. If they are kept in the same areas for too long (not mobile) they will dig massive craters out of boredom. Alot of our dogs over the years, our great Pyrenees have been cleptomaniacs, stealing out tools, work gloves, kids toys left in the yard especially barbies and sand box toys. They are also massive chewers as puppies. But in spite of all that, they are 100% hands down, the best, most amazing dogs on the planet. We love our pyrs and wouldn't trade them for the world. When our kiddos were little, the dogs would stay with them wherever they were at in our yard and wouldn't leave their sides. They are very loyal. 1 other thing....some of them tend to be roamers that are very hard to contain, depending on their personality and they will find any weakness in your fencing. The only type of fencing our pyrs respect is electric wire/tape or portable electric netting.
Perimeter training is a must for any outdoorsy dog in my opinion! It gives them a good sense of home and along with the barking helps keep away most predators scent marking the perimeter :)
yes! One of the most telling things I learned about pyrs is that an apt nickname is DisaPyr :) The fence challenge is real. Still worth it, but a challenge none the less.
Totally agree about the roaming and it is not the next farm, it will be 10 miles in a random direction. Do your self a favour and get your phone number on the dog (tag and collar), that way when she ends up in my yard, I can call you to come get her. I do not like the microchips, because I do not have a microchip reader. So then the dog has to go to Animal Control (which usually comes with a fine).
@@sheilameagher3675 Microchips are invaluable. I volunteer with dog rescue and am often helping to get strays home. Without microchips it isn’t possible. I’ve seen chips get dogs home that have been gone for months and even years!
@@birdmadgrrrl Yes I am aware. But(at least while you volunteer at the shelter) you have access to 'a' microchip reader. When this technology was introduced, there were 3 main brands of microchips and they had separate readers that were not compatible with each other. So shelters and vet clinics had to either commit to one brand or purchase retail all 3 products. If I am on the trail or the pet wonders into my yard, I am more than happy to call the owner for them to pick up their pet. I can not do that if the contact info is hidden on a microchip. Then I have to go to a vet , shelter or Animal services that will result in a fine to the owner. Some times the analogy process works too.
We did not pen our great Pyrenees. We trained them to our property by walking them around perimeter a couple of times a day in the beginning and kept them near us. Lots of love. They guarded not only our livestock but our small children too. Sweetest protectors ever.
That's what we have done with our dogs. Now the next generation is training with the older one. We live offgrid so our dogs are in the woods with the wild animals
I hope the Rhodes see your comment. This dog is super young, and they have ZERO perimeter fencing. This means they need to put in extra work to try to teach her the property's boundaries. I hope things will turn out for the best, but I think they have a house pet in the making.
Awww...watching Winnie's owner say goodbye to her was heartbreaking. Winnie looked so sad too....like she knew what was happening. I'm sure she'll adapt and adjust...but that moment was super sad.
haha, ours did that too. She would hide under the hay wagon and wait. I know that she was really peeved that she couldn't fly. Within days after she died the hawks moved back in to pick off chickens. I have to admit that though we got her for the sheep she ended up saving more chicken lives than anything. But she was perfect with the sheep, letting them make all the moves, not trying to be too friendly with them. But the chickens would actually walk over her when she was sleeping... miss those days.
A command to try. "Winnie, to the sheep" Oh and get signage up, especially along the road and at the entry gate. Not beware of dog but livestock guardian dog on duty is what you need. Also consider a more detailed sign answering common questions near the mailbox since the winter spot is so close.
I know exactly how Hunter feels. I have 5 GP's and am about to part with one, to Ben and Denise. I KNOW I am going to cry my eyes out when I leave her behind. They are such loving dogs and rapidly become an integral part of your family. And yeah.. they are bad travelers... Throw up in cars all the time. And I learned something today. She will bark at night to keep predators away. You guys really should consider getting her litter mate that she has been working with. They work best in pairs. Yep. Two litter mates would just form their own little clique. This dog needs a lot of training and watchful eyes. Its still so young for a guardian dog. Add to that no perimeter fencing so she won't know the limits of her property. This will be a great challenge if they aren't willing to put in the time with her.
I picked up a GSP from a sheep farm in NSW after the owners were forced off land due to the terrible drought. It was a 12 hour round trip and just like Miss Winnie, my dog Cher was very nervous and sat right at the back of the car until I gave her some food and then she came forward and sat within arms length of me for the last two hours of the journey. A great member of the family now. God luck with Miss Winnie.
Oh Justin. I had tears in my eyes watching him say good bye to Winnie and putting her in the truck. You could tell she took a piece of his heart with her. So glad you have her now for your sheep. I think she'll be a great asset to the farm. Winnie gravitating to Josiah doesn't surprise me. He has a very calm soul and quiet demeanor. Looking forward to more updates.
Congratulations! You have another child. I work guarding dads shop and anyone would think I'm a junk yard dog but when dad loads me up in my sidecar and I go to a care facility I switch hats and am the most gentle and loving therapy dog you have ever seen. Treat her like any one of the kids, we really do think like a humans. My therapy dog channel has over 180 videos of my life from 9 weeks old to now. I grew up with a Great Pyrenees. Best dog ever! I can't wait to have one for my daughter to grow up around. We always called him our gentle giant. We could climb all over him and he would just lay there unless something came around the house then he was all over it. You will love her! Welcome to Pyrenees ownership! Enjoy!
Our female GP is so kind and instinctual. She is only 13 weeks and has free range of the property. It was important to me that she be tightly bonded to us and our children as she will be 120 pounds and I have 3 small kids. She is wonderful as a family dog but she also loves our goats, chickens, and even the cat. She is wonderful at alerting to even large birds in trees on the property and protected our cat from one. She is a guard dog for the entire 3 acres and we will certainly be getting her a partner in about a year.
So sad for the couple that's loosing everything. I know Mr. Boots is proud of all of yall! I had 2 Pyrenees with about 50 goats and I wouldn't have been afraid if a bear got in there. They were amazing dogs! Only got out twice in there life and that was in the first 2 weeks as a puppy.
Great Pyrenees make wonderful dogs but I do worry that she's grown up with those other 3 dogs and now is living alone. She will need some extra love since she no longer has her pack. This dog will protect you and the sheep but do not ever harm her or hit her because you can cause aggression. If you have any questions check with people on the Great Pyr rescues sites or the guy you got them from. She will be your kids best protector for life. Good luck she looks like a wonderful dog.

Yes!!! Finally a dog eating some raw in a homestead family. Raw, whole food is the only diet makes sense for our pets! So happy for you guys making these big moves.

So I have always felt that the best 'Guard Dogs' are the ones that love their people and homes. Where consistency and kindness bounds the pet/guard dog to the family. I have had cats and dogs for years, and when they know they are safe and loved, respected and interacted with/trained, they will protect you and yours. My dogs were 8 lbs, and one of them took a questionable guy done at my front door. So spend some time with her, talk to her, show her the property and and show her (if she is curious about a tool you are holding let her come over and sniff it) and teach her stuff. About the hot dogs. They are a good treat but I would only use a piece the size of the end of your finger (less than an inch in length; think M&M/Smarties sized; one piece for each correct action; or even just one piece of kibble) You will also need to get a very specific list of one word commands that everyone uses. This is where the consistency matters. So my list looks like: Come, Stay, Sit, Lay down, No, Settle (means find a place to be out of the way, we are here for a while - anything over 20 minutes) Okay as a release from the command, Whoo (which means freeze you are not safe). And more Good boy, Good Dog than all the rest of the commands used combined. Positive reinforcement works.
I teared up too. I do remember the first visit when he said he wanted to try to keep a pair together. If Justin had taken two they would have not been so sad.

I've always wanted a Great Pyrenees but I don't know anything about him so I'm just learning about them from people have them and they tell me that they sleep during the day because they stay up all night and they bark a lot at night and that's because they're very alert especially to coyotes or stray dogs which is awesome cuz that's their job. To protect your livestock I guess you get used to the barking and since your farm is pretty much far away from all others he shouldn't have a problem with Neighbors being mad at a barking dog. She's beautiful. She's going to do a wonderful job.. wow! Your farm-sitter who did the detail on that car is amazing. That car looks wow
She will bond with your family and be friendly with your family. She will NOT be friendly with strangers. Strangers are a threat. She is beautiful, and I'm so happy for your family, while my heart breaks for the family she had to leave. Be patient, share your love 💕

Great Pyrenees are so good with kids. They're very gentle souls but love to work and guard. Snuggle her all you want, you won't spoil her instincts out of her
We have two Great Pyrenees and they are just the loveliest dogs you will ever have. I got my last one from my friend who has two as well, the female looks after the sheep and cattle and the male looks after the farm and the house and family. You couldn't get a nicer dog. She is gorgeous. Just a little note, Great Pyrenees are barkers, so be prepared.

The best thing you will ever do for your farm and your family is to get an LGD! So proud of you!. They love to work together as a team so if you can get another you will be super grateful. They will train their predecessors as well. You will never be sorry you have 2 or more of them. If you can get another he or she will make your world more rich, save and sweet. They have saved our chickens, goats, ducks, guinea, turkey's and us from so many things we didn't even know were there. We now have 1 Livestock Guardian Dog, Daphne, who is an Anatolian Shepherd, the other 2 Anatolian/Great Pyrenees have passed away. They always roamed our 70 acres freely to watch over everything. They will choose the high point on the property and watch over everyone and everything. So if you choose to not pen her she will do her job on a wider scale. You can't love them too much. Our dog also walks our Airbnb Enchanted Treehouse guests around the farm and through the trails in the woods protecting them. Our neighbor's Great Pyrenees (shhhh, we don't tell him he's not ours) comes over in the night to watch our farm as well. Davey becomes a favorite of our Treehouse guests, and I let them know when he barks he is keeping the coyotes away and them safe. They say the love hearing him bark at night. It is sad to see the couple have to give up their dream for now and their precious animals. Sending love to all and a bright future.
Tears are flowing, so sad to leave her home but so happy she has a good home with a new living family and a new herd of sheep to live with. Good job guys. Talk to Winnie and explain why she’s at a new place, that she is safe, she is loved and is needed to do the job of watching the sheep. She will understand.

Felt this video to my inner core... poor Hunter & family, needing to part ways with their entire lifetstyle - that has been hard videos to watch - i can't imagine what they are going through at the moment and hope one day they will be back at it. When it was time to part ways with miss Winnie definitely brought out some tears in me. As an owner of 3 great Pyrenees, i knew what the dog and owner felt at that very moment. No doubt you guys will give her a loving home. Enjoy life with a pyr - the ups and downs of that breed are beyond worth it & rewarding!

Our Great Pyrenees roam all over the place it’s also a good thing because they leave their scent in different places around your farm. If a dog doesn’t realize where it’s food is and runs away you don’t want it really in the first place. We’ve got 6 dogs total and no fencing they all still hang around
Morgan from Goldshaw has a video on working dogs regarding playtime, he basically only gets playful with the dog when not in the animal area, once the dog is with the animals, he doesn't play with it, as it's work time.
Sad always to watch a dog not wanting to go…but at least we know she’s goin to a great home. I remember bringing my dog home and he cried and cried the whole ride home lol…it was so sad. He was quite the little baby about sleeping alone for the first time in the crate. I ended up sleeping next to him and that crate on the floor for a week!😂 Almost impossible to think that was almost 17 years ago…still such a good old boy, my little shadow pupper. Once he was potty trained he graduated to sleeping on the bed w us hahahah certainly didn’t take long.

My heart is just breaking for Hunter and his family. Farming is near and dear to my heart as I grew up on a farm in Eastern NC and now am the owner of that farm. I so wish things they could have stayed in business. It is so sad, but some good is coming out of it. I love Mr Brown's excited look about getting the dog and the way Lily is already loving on her. ♥️
We have 3 LGDs. They bark a lot and will likely run off to chase away threats or even out of boredom. It really is best to get them as a pup and train them to your property. I think she will do better with a litter mate.

I have followed you channel for a very long time and have never felt the need to comment. However, I just wanted to say when you put your camera down and allowed Hunter to have a moment with the dog had to be one of the best moments. I know you will give the dog the best environment to thrive and hope Hunter knows that as well. I watched Gregg Judy yesterday and he was talking about a young couple losing investors (I believe he was talking about Hunter). When the time is right it would be great to have Hunter, Gregg, and yourself sit down to talk about the mistakes his farm made so others could learn and never have to go through this. Toby's fur is long so he has to be brushed every day. Still brushing helps with bonding: down time with new family.

Dogs also have emotions. They are loving and feel pain and sadness. So many people ignore these facts about a dog. Do not deprive her of lots of love.

They are very loyal. 1 other thing....some of them tend to be roamers that are very hard to contain, depending on their personality and they will find any weakness in your fencing. The only type of fencing our pyrs respect is electric wire/tape or portable electric netting.
Perimeter training is a must for any outdoorsy dog in my opinion! It gives them a good sense of home and along with the barking helps keep away most predators scent marking the perimeter :)
yes! One of the most telling things I learned about pyrs is that an apt nickname is DisaPyr :) The fence challenge is real. Still worth it, but a challenge none the less.
Totally agree about the roaming and it is not the next farm, it will be 10 miles in a random direction.
Do your self a favour and get your phone number on the dog (tag and collar), that way when she ends up in my yard, I can call you to come get her. I do not like the microchips, because I do not have a microchip reader. So then the dog has to go to Animal Control (which usually comes with a fine).
@@sheilameagher3675 Microchips are invaluable. I volunteer with dog rescue and am often helping to get strays home. Without microchips it isn’t possible. I’ve seen chips get dogs home that have been gone for months and even years!

When this technology was introduced, there were 3 main brands of microchips and they had separate readers that were not compatible with each other. So shelters and vet clinics had to either commit to one brand or purchase retail all 3 products.
If I am on the trail or the pet wonders into my yard, I am more than happy to call the owner for them to pick up their pet. I can not do that if the contact info is hidden on a microchip. Then I have to go to a vet , shelter or Animal services that will result in a fine to the owner.
Some times the analogy process works too.
Great Pyrenees are beautiful, sweet, protective dogs. Love her lots. She'll be sad to leave her family.
We did not pen our great Pyrenees. We trained them to our property by walking them around perimeter a couple of times a day in the beginning and kept them near us. Lots of love. They guarded not only our livestock but our small children too. Sweetest protectors ever.
That's what we have done with our dogs. Now the next generation is training with the older one. We live offgrid so our dogs are in the woods with the wild animals
I hope the Rhodes see your comment. This dog is super young, and they have ZERO perimeter fencing. This means they need to put in extra work to try to teach her the property's boundaries.

Awww...watching Winnie's owner say goodbye to her was heartbreaking. Winnie looked so sad too....like she knew what was happening. I'm sure she'll adapt and adjust...but that moment was super sad.

We have a Pyrenees. She isn't friendly but she does a great job chasing coyotes away. She even barks and chases hawks away.
haha, ours did that too. She would hide under the hay wagon and wait. I know that she was really peeved that she couldn't fly. Within days after she died the hawks moved back in to pick off chickens. I have to admit that though we got her for the sheep she ended up saving more chicken lives than anything. But she was perfect with the sheep, letting them make all the moves, not trying to be too friendly with them. But the chickens would actually walk over her when she was sleeping... miss those days.
A command to try. "Winnie, to the sheep"
Oh and get signage up, especially along the road and at the entry gate. Not beware of dog but livestock guardian dog on duty is what you need. Also consider a more detailed sign answering common questions near the mailbox since the winter spot is so close.
I know exactly how Hunter feels. I have 5 GP's and am about to part with one, to Ben and Denise. I KNOW I am going to cry my eyes out when I leave her behind. They are such loving dogs and rapidly become an integral part of your family. And yeah.. they are bad travelers... Throw up in cars all the time. And I learned something today. I never knew you HAD a brother!
She will bark at night to keep predators away. You guys really should consider getting her litter mate that she has been working with. They work best in pairs.

Yep. Two litter mates would just form their own little clique. This dog needs a lot of training and watchful eyes. Its still so young for a guardian dog. Add to that no perimeter fencing so she won't know the limits of her property. This will be a great challenge if they aren't willing to put in the time with her.
I picked up a GSP from a sheep farm in NSW after the owners were forced off land due to the terrible drought. It was a 12 hour round trip and just like Miss Winnie, my dog Cher was very nervous and sat right at the back of the car until I gave her some food and then she came forward and sat within arms length of me for the last two hours of the journey. A great member of the family now. God luck with Miss Winnie.
I cryed. I m a dog lover. I know she going to a good home. But when your dog leaves you and her family its so sad but good.

Congratulations! You have another child. I work guarding dads shop and anyone would think I'm a junk yard dog but when dad loads me up in my sidecar and I go to a care facility I switch hats and am the most gentle and loving therapy dog you have ever seen. Treat her like any one of the kids, we really do think like a humans. My therapy dog channel has over 180 videos of my life from 9 weeks old to now. I grew up with a Great Pyrenees. Best dog ever! I can't wait to have one for my daughter to grow up around. We always called him our gentle giant. We could climb all over him and he would just lay there unless something came around the house then he was all over it. You will love her! Welcome to Pyrenees ownership! Enjoy!
Our female GP is so kind and instinctual. She is only 13 weeks and has free range of the property. It was important to me that she be tightly bonded to us and our children as she will be 120 pounds and I have 3 small kids. She is wonderful as a family dog but she also loves our goats, chickens, and even the cat. She is wonderful at alerting to even large birds in trees on the property and protected our cat from one. She is a guard dog for the entire 3 acres and we will certainly be getting her a partner in about a year.
I'm happy that Rebecca recognized Winnie was removed from her "pack" and will require patience in this adjustment.
So sad for the couple that's loosing everything. I know Mr. Boots is proud of all of yall! I had 2 Pyrenees with about 50 goats and I wouldn't have been afraid if a bear got in there. They were amazing dogs! Only got out twice in there life and that was in the first 2 weeks as a puppy.

Great Pyrenees make wonderful dogs but I do worry that she's grown up with those other 3 dogs and now is living alone. She will need some extra love since she no longer has her pack. This dog will protect you and the sheep but do not ever harm her or hit her because you can cause aggression. If you have any questions check with people on the Great Pyr rescues sites or the guy you got them from. She will be your kids best protector for life. Good luck she looks like a wonderful dog.

You need more than one. They work as a team, minimum of 2. One to investigate any disturbances and one to stay and protect the stock.
They will be far more stable and feel more secure in a "pack", even if it is only two. An mature, trained male would be a good fit.

So I have always felt that the best 'Guard Dogs' are the ones that love their people and homes.
Where consistency and kindness bounds the pet/guard dog to the family.
I have had cats and dogs for years, and when they know they are safe and loved, respected and interacted with/trained, they will protect you and yours. My dogs were 8 lbs, and one of them took a questionable guy done at my front door.
So spend some time with her, talk to her, show her the property and and show her (if she is curious about a tool you are holding let her come over and sniff it) and teach her stuff.
About the hot dogs. They are a good treat but I would only use a piece the size of the end of your finger (less than an inch in length; think M&M/Smarties sized; one piece for each correct action; or even just one piece of kibble)
You will also need to get a very specific list of one word commands that everyone uses. This is where the consistency matters. So my list looks like: Come, Stay, Sit, Lay down, No, Settle (means find a place to be out of the way, we are here for a while - anything over 20 minutes) Okay as a release from the command, Whoo (which means freeze you are not safe). And more Good boy, Good Dog than all the rest of the commands used combined. Positive reinforcement works.

I've always wanted a Great Pyrenees but I don't know anything about him so I'm just learning about them from people have them and they tell me that they sleep during the day because they stay up all night and they bark a lot at night and that's because they're very alert especially to coyotes or stray dogs which is awesome cuz that's their job. To protect your livestock I guess you get used to the barking and since your farm is pretty much far away from all others he shouldn't have a problem with Neighbors being mad at a barking dog. She's beautiful. She's going to do a wonderful job.. wow! Your farm-sitter who did the detail on that car is amazing. That car looks wow

We have two Great Pyrenees and they are just the loveliest dogs you will ever have. I got my last one from my friend who has two as well, the female looks after the sheep and cattle and the male looks after the farm and the house and family. You couldn't get a nicer dog. She is gorgeous. Just a little note, Great Pyrenees are barkers, so be prepared.

Great Farm Dogs! I lived on a farm with a great pyrenees. Does bark often throughout the night but that's their job!

The best thing you will ever do for your farm and your family is to get an LGD! So proud of you!. They love to work together as a team so if you can get another you will be super grateful. They will train their predecessors as well. You will never be sorry you have 2 or more of them. If you can get another he or she will make your world more rich, save and sweet. They have saved our chickens, goats, ducks, guinea, turkey's and us from so many things we didn't even know were there. We now have 1 Livestock Guardian Dog, Daphne, who is an Anatolian Shepherd, the other 2 Anatolian/Great Pyrenees have passed away. They always roamed our 70 acres freely to watch over everything. They will choose the high point on the property and watch over everyone and everything. So if you choose to not pen her she will do her job on a wider scale.
You can't love them too much. Our dog also walks our Airbnb Enchanted Treehouse guests around the farm and through the trails in the woods protecting them. Our neighbor's Great Pyrenees (shhhh, we don't tell him he's not ours) comes over in the night to watch our farm as well. Davey becomes a favorite of our Treehouse guests, and I let them know when he barks he is keeping the coyotes away and them safe. They say the love hearing him bark at night. It is sad to see the couple have to give up their dream for now and their precious animals. Sending love to all and a bright future.

Felt this video to my inner core... poor Hunter & family, needing to part ways with their entire lifetstyle - that has been hard videos to watch - i can't imagine what they are going through at the moment and hope one day they will be back at it. When it was time to part ways with miss Winnie definitely brought out some tears in me. As an owner of 3 great Pyrenees, i knew what the dog and owner felt at that very moment. No doubt you guys will give her a loving home. Enjoy life with a pyr - the ups and downs of that breed are beyond worth it & rewarding!

Our Great Pyrenees roam all over the place it’s also a good thing because they leave their scent in different places around your farm. If a dog doesn’t realize where it’s food is and runs away you don’t want it really in the first place. We’ve got 6 dogs total and no fencing they all still hang around

Sad always to watch a dog not wanting to go…but at least we know she’s goin to a great home. I remember bringing my dog home and he cried and cried the whole ride home lol…it was so sad. He was quite the little baby about sleeping alone for the first time in the crate. I ended up sleeping next to him and that crate on the floor for a week!😂 Almost impossible to think that was almost 17 years ago…still such a good old boy, my little shadow pupper. Once he was potty trained he graduated to sleeping on the bed w us hahahah certainly didn’t take long.

My heart is just breaking for Hunter and his family. Farming is near and dear to my heart as I grew up on a farm in Eastern NC and now am the owner of that farm. I so wish things they could have stayed in business. It is so sad, but some good is coming out of it. We have 3 LGDs. They bark a lot and will likely run off to chase away threats or even out of boredom. It really is best to get them as a pup and train them to your property. I think she will do better with a litter mate.

I have followed you channel for a very long time and have never felt the need to comment. However, I just wanted to say when you put your camera down and allowed Hunter to have a moment with the dog had to be one of the best moments. I know you will give the dog the best environment to thrive and hope Hunter knows that as well. I watched Gregg Judy yesterday and he was talking about a young couple losing investors (I believe he was talking about Hunter). When the time is right it would be great to have Hunter, Gregg, and yourself sit down to talk about the mistakes his farm made so others could learn and never have to go through this.
