Amazing collection. I wish they would have shown the shoes a bit more, as they also seemed interesting and I also wish Van Herpen would do other pieces aside from dresses, just like that coat.

She is by far my favorite designer of all time.
Not that I could, but I do not think I would have the confidence and I know I do not have the body to wear her fashion. That being said, she is so creative and talented and never disappoints with her collections, I envy such artistic talent.
Iris is undoubtedly a masterful craftsman & indisputably a creative genius in the fashion universe however, after many seasons of seeing an almost similar style of cut, texture & fabric configurations, it is unfortunately, beginning to lose the luminous glow, her architectural & artful confections used to possess. Here’s hoping for her next, much looked forward to presentation, she’d come up with a more nuanced rebirth of her once much lauded collections.
it does feel like we have seen all this before from her. Time her to do a total change in style. I honestly cannot tell the years apart. All amazing for sure but by now so predictable they have lost the wow factor. I did not finish this one as it was just exactly what I had expected from her.
I understand her client still love this style….like eile sabb when we see the almost the same dress over and over again….She has one of the most long waiting buyer from around the world…..and the price of her collection is the most expensive haute couture of all time..,.
I tooootally disagree. Not one piece is similar. I think you might be getting too used to the brilliance. But I understand your perspective 100%. It truly floors me everytime .

This is the effort that should go into all haute couture tbh…I mean look at this and that green Chanel opener…how was that haute couture? Someone correct me if I’m wrong…
Both have different tastes and audience to please.
Haute Couture is fashionable clothes from houses. Chanel never if not rarely does avant-grade-IVH is avant-grade haute couture. Fashion is subjective and each house have a different audience to please and designers have different tastes.
This collection is inspired in Lost Ark costume designe.

All the dresses are beautiful, but they are all evening wear. Would like to see what she can do with daywear. Who wears evening gowns on a daily basis ? Some of the more revealing dresses like bodysuits were too sci fi anime costumes for me though. The second look for me was the best of all - radical enough, but still a classic shape. Fall winter ? You need a coat for these dresses. There was only one coat though.

Far from “average people” but Dove Cameron, Teyana Taylor, Fredrik Robertsson and Winnie Harlow all wore Van Herpen pieces at this years Met Gala, and Grimes wore one to last year’s :) so even if it’s not on the street, they’re being appreciated as art pieces!
