I've done the trail several times during Jeepers Jamboree and I still learned a few things from this video. Thanks Bob and the rest of the team!
This is a bucket list trail. I would love to experience the natural beauty and make lasting memories.
My last Rubicon trip about 10 years ago, my buddy and me drove from Oregon , spent the night at the top of the slab, wheeled all the way to Tahoe the next day and drove back to Oregon on the 3rd day.. What i remember about the trip is what i just said.... don't do what i did... spend some time on the trail. I wish i had spent a week.. but i spent 3 days that i hardly remember. Thankfully i have run it about 5 times and have much better or worse memories from other trips. Even worse memories are better than almost no memories.
Love the Rubicon Trail. I use to help Friends of the Rubicon keep the trail in order usually around spring time and look to get back out there soon now that my rig is going strong again. Rig has been under construction since 2014 and now ready for some action.
Such an amazing place. What a trip it would have been to be on one of those early explorations.
What axles are Bob running?
And why aren't you running a Warn?
@@chrismarinock520 when I got my bumper from Rugged Ridge, they had a big combo sale that included the winch. I just picked up a Warn for my Wrangler. I’ve had good luck with both. As for bob’s axles, I don’t remember the specs.

Hammock setups, done properly, are my favorite way to camp out of my jeep. Who needs level ground?
This is great, the other part that isn’t covered as much is for the ones coming days away and figuring out where to stay and park trailers.
That is a tricky one since you typically don’t go in and out from the same end. If your rigs are registered I would park the trailers in South Lake Tahoe and drive the trail rigs to Loon Lake and then come out at Tahoe. If they aren’t registered I’d trailer to Look Lake and go in as far as you have time for and then back track to the trailers.

I have a tj that I’m building for the rubicon adventure I’m thinking 4 inch lift on 35s is that a good combo any opinions
Sounds like a great platform! I would recommend rocksliders and a rear locking differential for a TJ on the Rubicon.

I just want to know why no one told me my hat was crooked during every interview segment.
Don't detract from the content and reverence of The Rubicon Trail that this video delivers by whining about who should be mentioned, Maxxis.
We ALL know the role and actions that Mark Smith played in the preservation of the trail, so no reminders are needed by your Captain Obvious remarks.
If you want to be a useful social justice warrior, direct your energy towards getting Pete Rose in the MLB Hall of Fame or something else equally unbalanced.
The world would appreciate that more than reading your keyboard warrior rant.
BTW Great content as always Ali and Harry!
It would be much more interesting to watch stock jeeps tackle these obstacles.
I like the attitude of respecting the trail, but describe it properly, it has evolved due to wear-and-tear, both travel and erosion!

Yet no mention of Mr. Mark Smith, who if it weren't for him, his efforts and stewardship in keeping the highway open by way of negotiations with California's Dep't of Highway/BLM and other entities, tourism by way of the founding the Jeep Jamboree, the Rubicon Trail as we now know and love it wouldn't even exist.
To call a video The Story Of The Rubicon Trail and not even mention Mark's name once is abhorrent.
Shame on you Driving Line. The neglect in not mentioning his name and efforts is a HUGE no-no.

What an incredible disservice to a man that is a legend. No mention of his tireless efforts to make and keep the Rubicon what it is, the founder of Jeep Jamboree, decades worth of work with Jeep engineers, etc etc.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
*Note: Bob and Jeepers Jamboree are legendary. My comments aren't meant to take one iota of his incredible contributions and efforts regarding the Rubicon. But only 10 seconds worth of mention about Mark, as read in the bolded quote above, is disgusting.
