Hi, I was quite late because being on other things, but just for information, I was integrating for the next update of Expanded Menu some bugfixes to be more like an unoficial patch of the game. :) Currently the Mod already includes HD Loading Screens. After/soon it will include an intro skiping too, all languages available for the game will be compiled in, new ingame music menu, some camera presets, some new menu fields like manual saber block, weapons position fixes for 4:8/16:9/16:10 screens, the crosshair size and position fixes, add transparancy on HUD to be a little more modern, little improvements and fixes on NPCs, scripts for make NPCs follow or no the player, some shaders fixes, dismemberment for German version, background video option in main menu, etc... Lyo.
Oh shit it's my boy Lyorran! Damn I didn't know the mod included so much content including new ones on the way! Dude I really appreciate what you have done for Jedi Outcast, you really breathed new life into thr game with such an amazing UI especially for multi-player. I'm especially looking forward to a good weapon FOV since it seemed too far back atm so that is gonna be an incredibly new change! Thanks so much for your hard work!
Its not a mod but big fix I havent seen anyone mention. cg_gunz cg_guny cg_gunx These adjsut position of the viewmodel even their distance to camera which makes it so you can SEE THE ACTUAL GUNS.
Modded my Jedi outcast 2 game last summer for the ultimate experience. Oh baby, ran it in 4ķ, upscaled textures, put RTX shadows and effects on that bad boy, simply AMAZING. I modded mine and still retained the original feel of everything so I wouldn't miss out. Beat both Outcast 2 and Academy that summer!!
@@Kelphelp Check this Install-Video th-cam.com/video/16APpDgD5q8/w-d-xo.html Example game is AC IV Black Flag but it works on pretty much every game with ReShade :)

I just updated Fx mod and improved shading for Jan and Kyle, btw your list mod are the best choice, you can install all of them for best experience. Cheers! H3llBaron
A little tip I quickly figured out. PK3 is just a form of zip file compression, so any windows device can open up PK3 files through file explorer, winrar, etc. So if you want the best experience download all of these mods accordingly then open up the FX pk3 file, and delete any of the player models you dislike, I deleted all of the humanoids that didn't have any form of armor or didn't have reptilian skin. Replace those models with the ones from the upscaled mod. Make sure the FX mod is loaded right after the upscaled textures mod as well, so it'll overwrite anything the upscaled textures does. Now you have the best of both worlds.
Dude thank you SO much for making this video. I know I'm 2 years late, but I'm getting things set up for my first playthrough in a decade. I never ever mod games to "update them," but....idk man this game needs a bit of a touch up in comparison to its predecessors lol
Hahahaha naw thank you for the watch! Agreed in the sense there needs to be a bit of modernization and this guide does help to that. Makes an amazing game just that much better. What's there not to love?
I get really great results out of config file tweaks and Nvidia Control Panel to enable things like Multi-Frame Sampled AA, 16x anisotropic filtering, massive framerate improvements and even realistic saber combat, which turns your lightsaber into a deathtrap
Great guide, as always. Will keep this one in mind whenever I'm up for another playthrough. As for the glossy effect in one of the texture packs, that's apparently something that makes it look more "HD" in the minds of some people. If you check the latest GTA Trilogy remaster trailer, you can see the same shitty gloss all over the new character models.
I do remember during PS3 days that the glossy look was all over so many titles to just highlight that HD feature, I do remember that being prominent. I think its def different for the GTA trilogy since the art style is much, much more stylized but I feel what you mean.
I've had the Jedi Knight games installed for years. There was a mega mod for academy but I think it got yanked. I always replace Kyle with Dooku. It's just what I do
@@Kelphelp Agreed, especially Expanded Menu, which improves the game basically in every way(the pros far out weigh the cons by miles), that is the type of mod I have been looking for since basically my childhood, and to see something like it in action is amazing beyond words. :)
Hey guys, I`ve got a problem with the 4k Ai Upscale Mod. Everytime I install it my game crashes while loading into a new game oder loaded savegame. What do I wrong?
@@Kelphelp Hi, thank you fot the quick response. Yes I´ve followed the readme, but even a new installation and a new game didn´t work for me. I´m using the steam version.
Hmmmm then not sure ehat to tell you man. If you started like clean (meaning no residual files in the installation folder) and Readme didn't work idk what to say man. Usually it should. Maybe retrace your steps or start over. Sorry dont have much to go on
Thank you for this list. Some of it helps but not a single one improves the garbage gunplay in Outcast. Almost all of the weapons are flat out terrible. Namely the blasters, bow, grenades, repeater, etc. Grenades have everything wrong with them. Blaster projectiles move way too slow. Bowcaster spread is too large or projectiles are too small. All the weapons can do with some tweaks to make them less of a pain to use. Do you know of any mods to improve the gunplay? How about improve the enemy AI? or give more variety to enemies? Finally, do any of these mods fix the creepy teeth???
First time I heard someone say the gunplay is terrible considering its built on the Quake 3 engine, and a great one at that. Guess you might be on the minority on that one so can't say I know mods.
@@Kelphelp Maybe because you interact with a small community of people that all share a similar opinion? Is Outcast known as the greatest shooter of all time? I seemed to have missed that in my "Advanced Game History" class at University. I don't see what you're trying to say. Maybe you're just endulging in little too much in the positive feedback loop of your TH-cam comments. It is a 20 year old game so they majority of people who would still care would be people who enjoyed it the first time around and want to again. Next point, what does it matter what engine it's built off of? "Quake III Arena", "Return to Castle Wolfenstein", "Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force 1 & 2", and "Call of Duty" were all made with the same engine. Do they all feel like the same game? Even "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" and "Enemy Territory" were made at the same time, for the same series, with the same engine, but by different companies; and they were very different games. A game Engine does NOT make a good game. There isn't an "Easy Button" to use when developing it just because another game used the same engine. Finally, you cannot say, with a straight face, they you can hit a MOVING target that is 10ft away while moving yourself with a blaster, or a bow, or any pew-pew weapon in this game. The whole gameplay for the last 2/3rds of the game is "Force Push" and Slash while they're down. And that gets boring very fast now that I'm not 10 years old. So again, are there any mods that makes the gameplay "less-sh*t"? Increased projectile speed or projectile size would really help make the game more enjoyable. Or to be able to change the damage scaling per weapon.
