so i have my great grandfathers rampside in the back yard, that im preparing to extract, presuming it doesn't snap in half.. your assessment of the major structural components is actually quite reassuring. I also have the front half of his 1933 pontiac v-8. If I decide to forego the idea of making it a daily pickup to replace my 04 silverado for many local tasks, this may be a very effing fun idea to play with. it's like it's designed as a race vehicle, not a race converted vehicle. The idea of an engine bay an entire team can stand in and work in such a setting is incredible. For the individual 6'4" neanderthol hacker like me, having heaps of space mostly for offloading engine and performance or fuel management or conversion systems and still being able to walk around it is... intriguing.

Hey Wayne, great build man. We actually just pulled a 1964 Corvair Greenbrier out of a neighbours building here in Ontario a few weeks ago. It was a Tennessee truck so its never seen salt. He has just let it collect 7 years of dust. We race Subaru's in TimeAttack and were thinking about dropping a subie engine in the back but this LS swap could be the ticket. I might reach out to you for some been-there-done-that perspective. Cheers man.

That is freaking awesome! I have a '62 Rampside that exact same color combination! They are so useful and badass! I've hauled a Honey Bucket porty potty, in my '63 Rampside! They actually made some Corvair cars (not FCs like this) in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, until 1966. But all Corvair FCs were made in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri. Awesome job on this one!
