Sung Kang’s 240 and this one are at the top of my list. This thing is just beautiful and the attention to detail is incomparable. I agree with you - this car is a masterpiece.
The body lines on this car are EXQUISITE!!! They're so clean that at first glance I genuinely couldn't tell what had been done!? Absolutely stellar work and craftsmanship... Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
To all those who are hating this build and saying it’s ruined - Just appreciate the work and time put into this. It’s beautiful and extremely well done. You don’t have to like or agree with everyone’s builds and that’s the beauty of the car community but you should definitely respect it. It’s not ruined it’s just not your style.
We’ll put there Matt. That is the number one problem with the car hobby, too many snobs who think their way of building a car is the best. If you’ve ever restored or restomoded a car you would be more likely to appreciate such a build as this one.
Stunning is the first word to come to mind on this beautiful build. Envy is the second word , bummed is the third because I’ll never be able to get my Z to come close to this build quality. Congratulations on an awesome interpretation of the Z!
Thank you Larry for sharing the story of this family’s stunning Z + LS build! A++ craftsmanship throughout, and built so personally and lovingly to Sammi’s tastes. A ‘Fairlady’ for the ages, no doubt!!👍
I wanna see Ol orange bang out on a cruise with that fairladyR. Two extremely high caliber early Z's, built in two different ways by two entirely different people and shops. Incredible build.
I think I'm on the same wavelength as you Larry when you first started talking about the car. You have seen so many amazing builds over the years and have so many times thought "it just doesn't get any better than this" ...... and then...... you find a build like this. This build is just absolutely stunning!!! Congrats Sammi!
Leave it to a father to build such a jewel, no one deserves her, too beautiful and sharp as the mussel blast from a .357. His daughter is great too, he really loves her, this cars engine bay is a letter to his daughter for sure. The best story and vehicle yet Larry.
I have always be against LS swapped cars especially JDM style cars.. But Sammi this is by far the most amazing representation of a Z I have ever seen. This beauty is sooooo clean and omg the little details like the valve covers. This would not surprise me if we were to see this on Z nations Website front and center. I want to see more of this car.
✌out once I saw the LS at 6:20. Fun fact - Nissan has a 400hp V8 in their Titan pickup truck. Its 5.6L V8 (VK56) has been powering it for almost 20 years.
Congratulations It's an unbelievable restoration the time & love that's gone in to this car definitely shows. It's exceptionally clean but you can see it's gone the owners personal little charms added on without losing the original factor styling it come with
Wow, just wow. And a big THANK YOU to Sammi for veto-ing chrome wheels. They would've looked terrible on such an incredibly classy car. What a build...I absolutely love it.
Big props to the whole family for building this beauty! Even as a long episode it's sad to get to the end, but then you'll get one of the coolest TH-cam outros ever 🚗🎶
This kind of clean builds is incredibly hard to pull off. When you have to look a tiny details or need a pointer on what was modified. Or like Larry always says: OEM+. The car is awesome and so is the familiy... 😎👍
It is so good! my sister wrecked my 77 280z over an embankment into a tree. Tree saved her from a huge Roll event... Z was totalled sadly. tried to fix it and got it looking ok then sold it to a neighbor for 1000 that was in need of any car
Big fan of your channel and your work over the years in photography. Glad you've gone independent! Great content Larry! AND WHAT A CAR! Sammi and her fam built a complete A-list hotrod. Love to see it.
she should put the rear window Louvers on it makes the z look Sporty even though this car already looks super sporty! It IS so good! Awesome Job!!! If it was mine I would add the 280z hood louvers! Louvers Help stop the car from getting Squirrely at high speed from reducing Hood Lift and will help the car with heat soak Letting the trapped hot air that rises and gets stuck under the hood, with The ITB's there sucking in all that hot air it would help so much plus The 280's had them so they will still Retain the Natural Z Look even if it is off the 280 instead of the 240....Man this made me miss my 77 280 z I drove senior Year of Highschool in 2002. I painted mine the stock green color but had a bunch of Flake and pearl added. She was pretty not this pretty but pretty.
What's really unique about the Bogart racing wheels is that the center's look small while the matte silver barrels give it the diameter while making it appear like a smaller wheel which fits the look of the 240. That's some trick stuff right there. San Jose Datsun owners plate, I take she knows Rob Fuller then? Naturally. One thing I haven't seen Rob Fuller do is put a VK56 in a Z.
always loved the 240Z but this one is something special. love the clean simple look combined with an obsessive attention to detail in places 99.9% of gearheads wouldn't even notice. It reminds me of lowriders and their attention to detail. those guys will chrome plate and engrave a pattern onto the bolts hidden behind the wheel liner.
