Happy late 8th Anniversary, Dylan, and great video to make this year go out with a bang. But, I'm confused, why was your trainsona introduced in 1944, the GS-4s were built between 1941-1942, why have your trainsona introduced so late? And BTW New Years Eve is the 80th Anniversary of the 1944 Bagley train wreck, if you have herd of it.
@ianw2176 The reason Dylan was built in 1944 is because he was originally going to be 4458, but during his build, he was delayed by 2 years in favor of other locomotive being built. So after two years, building Dylan continued and eventually, he came out of the Lima Locomotive Works on July 23rd, 1944 and that’s why he was built late. Also, I never heard of the Bagley Train Wreck.
@d-fender4489 Does that refer to Eve (SP GS-5 4458), and the Bagley train wreck aka the Great Salt Lake wreck, tells the story of 2 sections of train 21 the Pacific Limited, with the 2nd section slamming into the rear of the 1st section. The cause of the wreck was thick fog in the area, stalled freight train on the line (due to a hotbox on one of the cars), and excessive speed by the 2nd sections 64 year old driver James McDonald (although he died at the controls few seconds before the crash, due to sudden shock or a heart failure).
