My fully loaded Aeron chair came today. OMG I so love it. I would buy this again. Though I don't think I will need another for 20 years. I'd love to buy my daughter one. I'm 65 years old and I'm in heaven. I so love it. Super duper comfortable. Built like SUV. Great Quality!! I bought mine from Business Interiors. Brokers where you get it brand new, full warranty for about $800 cheaper. I live in Canada and mine cost me including taxes and delivery $1417.00 with a discount code. It sells for $1249.99 I ordered it Tuesday and it came Friday.
I am on two~three weeks now on the Aeron. My back while not fully better has been drastically better. I have something wrong in my lower right side that no chair can fix and I have no insurance to go get it fixed so the next best thing was one of this chairs. It has improved my back health quality drastically. While it was weird the first week or so its slowly growing on me. My only con is that if you have a small pet that loves sitting on your lap... your legs will be in a world of pain most of the time. And overall I wish I had gone with the embody but its to late to return it now.
I've been thinking of picking up the embody myself. Will definitely do a review of that when I get it. When you say your legs are in pain, is it because they jam against the plastic lip? I would really look into the cushion :).
Great video! The Aeron C gave me really bad sciatica, never had any pain before. Switched to a steelcase leap v2, and no,issues. I’ve still kept the Aeron, but experience over the last few years of repeated attempts confirm it gives me issues. Will look into cushion
Yep, any time I hear sciatic pain, I ask how hard the surface you are sitting on is. Issue with the aeron is that since the mesh is actually quite firm (but also pliable), it can kind of pinch the glute and put a lot of pressure there. Cushion gives up some of the breathability, but it tends to resolve the pain issue.
I have the aeron size b, embody, celle, equa, humanscale world/liberty/freedom w/headrest, steelcase thinkv1 and leap v2... my go to chair is the embody. my favorite tilt mechanism is the synchro tilt mechanism.... my chair to chill in is the humanscale freedom with headrest. I like the celle as well... I prefer firmer seating. I like to recline in the leapv2. The thinkv1 is great for the price. I got all my chairs used. Humanscale chairs are also just stylish and nice to sit in. Next chairs on my list are the mirra2, any knoll chair I can find used, and the haworth zody.
Great review! I personally love my used Aeron Remastered, but I hadn't considered the leaning forward position. I just thought it was just bad ergonomics to lean forward, and didn't know there were ergonomic chairs that specifically support this position. I saw a video where Secret Lab put out an ergonomic chair that they don't really promote on their website. Have you heard of this chair?
How else would you sit during gaming though ? Isn't the whole point to sit the correct way in the chair in the first place ? Otherwise the ergonomic part is useless. I get watching movies and youtube you can sit back a little, but I'd still want good support for the actual gaming position.
@@pulkmees ergonomics in my opinion means to serve the person rather than to conform to a set “correct” position. There is no one size fits all. Some people hunch over in a forward sitting position while gaming, others like to lean back. Neither is better than the other, but there is a better chair for someone who leans forward better than for someone who leans back. Get the chair that fits what you do rather than try to conform to what the chair wants. In my next chair review I’ll talk about what has the most effect: being active and breaking out of the same static position.
Hey could you once again explain the two finger rule when buying an aeron? It was too fast edited for me and I did not understand what you adviced. Thank you I love this video.
So take your index and middle finger (2 fingers) and place at the front lip of the chair. That should be the minimum distance from the back of your knee to edge of the lip of the chair.
Unfortunately. the Alimed "Stratta Mesh Cusion for Aeron" is not available in Germany and for shipping you need at least 300$ purchase :(. Do you have maybe alternative cushions?
From my tests, this was the best that I've found for the aeron. If you are having sciatic pain though, I would give something like the purple seat cushion or really any sort of memory foam so that the seat is a bit softer. It's a bit of trial and error, I'm afraid!
Did you get the Embody yet? I just ordered one and have had issues with my back since I got my my new car (not sure how to get my seat positioned properly to support my back 🤦♂️) I tried the regular Embody and the Embody x Logitech and I preferred the look of the fabric on the Logitech as well as the extra cushioning on the seat. Appreciate your video on the Aeron though!
had to hold off on stuff since I just had a baby, lol. But whats up with your car?! I know when I got my last car, the bucket seats worked my glute pain up pretty badly. Ill look into getting the logitech embody once covid dies down and i can open the office up again
Huh, I never thought about bad car seats… as long as it wasn’t a hard back seat bench, cars have had some of the most comfortable seats I’ve ever owned. My Ford Taurus was pretty good, but I absolutely love my VW Golf seats. They’ve held up better than leather (and aren’t scorching hot in summer), have adjustable lumbar, and treat me pretty well on my once or twice a year journeys to visit family (I don’t remember how many hours PA to SC is, but PA to MO takes 12-14 hours with food and gas breaks). Hopefully Tesla continues to look at their seats and revise them. They’ve been so careful over engineering other parts of the car (like air purifiers) that it surprises me to hear their seats aren’t as comfortable as an office chair.
I now have my aeron! I would like to know if the cushion could help me cross a leg because I love the chair but I have trouble crossing a leg because it is less deep than my old chair. I know it's not ergonomic but it's a position that I like. I find that the front is actually a bit harsh. Although some people find it odd to add a cushion to a $ 1000 + chair I think that might be a solution for me. Last question. The Large is the one for Aeron B or xLArge? Does the cushion give us the impression of being higher?
If you like to cross your legs, you put more pressure on the bottom butt cheek which can sometimes aggravate people. However! If you like this position, I would highly recommend a cushion to reduce the pressure. I recommend the LARGE cushion (i accidentally linked the Xlarge) for the Aeron B. I corrected the link now. Also here: amzn.to/3nvR1pS. The cushion makes it feel very slightly higher but nothing noticeable. The aeron adjusts up and down anyway if its an issue.
What material would you recommend for the HAG Capisco chair? I felt the fabric option on a sample and it felt a little rough. Im gravitating towards the leather version but I’ve heard that leather chairs can sag leading to back pain?
Before you do anything give me a few days to finish that review. I am literally editing that video right now. But to answer your question I have had the leather version for three years and love it. However it is a little bit firm. It kinda feels like a large high quality bike seat. But the benefits of the chair aren’t it’s comfort...it’s because it does a great job of keeping you active. I’d say get the softer fabrics if you’ve ever had any sort of issues with sitting on firm surfaces. Personally I’ve had issues with seats that put a lot of pressure on my glutes but with the hag I change positions so frequently it’s not a problem. Thanks for reaching out!
@@FortifySTR it’s my pleasure, the videos so far have been great! Really looking forward to that video coming soon, with lockdowns in place I can’t visit a showroom to try it out, so an in-depth review is just what I need.
I ordered mine (B) but I'm afraid it will be too narrow ... I know that I am B in their charter with my 5 '8' 'and 165 lbs but at this price I remain worried. Can you reassure me? : P I use a translator because I speak French if you find that I write in a strange way: P
Don't worry friend! I am about 5'9 and 195 lbs and I still have room for my legs. Your legs/hips have to be pretty wide to get into a C. Enjoy your new chair!
@@rob7ho I’d say it depends a lot on the length of your femurs. You want the lip of the chair to be about 2 inches from the back of your calves when your seated. If you have a lot of height from your legs you might benefit from the longer seat depth of the C. But I’d say most likely the B will be the better fit for borderline cases. As a slimmer person you don’t need the extra width that the C provides, and I think the seat height of the B will probably be good for you as well.
@@FortifySTR Noted. I'll have to try demo at a showroom but you might be right about a B. I have a tendency of bending my lower legs inward while sitting so a C might hit the edge of my calves.
Definitely gonna get an embody. However, if you go for used Aeron, you can get them much cheaper and they are pretty easy to find! Thanks for the comment.
Lol, a chair doesn't need to be branded gaming to be good for gamers. The new gaming aeron is exactly the same as the remastered aeron, but is in a little bit darker than graphite. Def not worth the price imo.

I'm sitting in an Aeron watching you talk about the Aeron. Nerdvana.
I like how you considered people who like a front-facing support and talk about leaning in while gaming! not everyone sits the same style
Exactly. I think everyone tries to find a once size fits all chair, but that is literally the opposite of what ergonomics is about.
