Thank you for this video. My friend passed suddenly (quietly/peacefully/painlessly as well) on the 3rd, and while we never really spoke of the afterlife, he did often talk about his Celtic and Irish heritage. "We probably just need to embrace the mystery." I think he'd have liked that.

It seems you have missed the evidence of necromancy. Such as the remark by Greek writers that the ancient Gauls would sleep on the tombs of their ancestors to gain insight and inspiration and then the later recovery of the Tain. Where the filidh go to the gravestone of Fergus Mac Roich and talk to him to recover the full Tain Bo Cualgne. Which does suggest some form of life after death.
Very in depth description 👍. I had researched this a few times and only found vague descriptions of the otherworld. Had not heard about this island of women.
I've been doing a bit of reading on Donn recently, and it's interesting how often the title "Donn" is paired with figures named "Finn". Eber Donn and Eber Finn, the Donn Cúailnge and Finnbhennach, Donn Firren and Finnbherra. Considering "Gwyn" is cognate with "Finn," and Gwyn ap Nudd has many similarities with Donn, I wonder if their was once a Welsh "Donn" figure, and whether in one culture or the other the two swapped roles.
Magic mushrooms have shown me the otherworld as i believe it, its real and surrounds us in everyway there are dark almost Halloween like gateways and your relatives are there some aware of this world some appear to ignore be unaware, everything is recognizable but different everything from the little rocks upwards has a fizzing energy i take to be alive and ive found a huge brass like disc covered in strange and familiar signs some appear to be sanskrit and others are runic and other unknowns that must be kept balanced above the otherworld i don't know why, but the otherworld is here with us good and bad exists there too, so don't be afraid to try mushrooms in the liminal places
this is wher I go almost every night in my dreams. My brother is ther, my grandfather, my aunt, my woman, ,,,, etc,,,, yes I believe this is true as well

I'm sorry for you loss. Embracing the mystery is really all we have.

Great discussion.

Yes, that would have been another interesting angle to cover. If I had looked at 'everything' it would have been a four-hour video!
Whooo. That’s sounds like a stinky affair..

Glad it was helpful!
Amen, Kris! Thanks for applying logic to this subject. Logic, of course, isn't the cold hard opposite of feeling our culture feels it is.
Thanks!
Amen isnt that a Christian thing?
This was a very informative and interesting video! I love learning more about anything Celtic 😍
Aw! thank you, Aria!

The Donn/Finn thing is interesting. Thanks for pointing it out. Should be be looking at Gwythyr? IDK! I'm not saying so.
Yes, a great idea to behave well anyway. Not having the answers has to do with being caught in the mind.
oh wait ya mean theres not like a printed out handbook or somethin?!!! hehehehehe seriously thank ye for tellin it like it is
