    You have no idea how helpful this is. I live in a third world country & there is not a single Honda dealer! Hence these videos are like gold dust. You have helped me more than you will know. Thank you. x

    Here in England my local Honda dealer quoted £250 for this ten minute service without changing the oil ! Will be doing it myself 😎

    Saw this last night. I also do my own maintenance. I even went and took a Motorcycle Mechanics course at the local community college. I'm 48 and I can't recall ever using a warranty once in my life. This is why I bought a Honda. I may consider letting the shop work on a different bike in the future, but for me it's part of the fun.

    Crankcase breather tube, is basically like a pcv valve, over time it can get oil buildup, and smells like fuel sometimes. If it’s bad just clean it out, if not then leave it. Mostly on high mileage engines you see it build up more

  • @gregs3032
    @gregs3032 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    the ccv tube should not have anything in it until you get some wear on the motor, it will collect what used to be called blow by. or it could have water in it if you have run through high water. the tube is transparent so you can see if anything is in it, before you pull the cap off. there is another easier way to get an idea about brake pad wear, the more wear on the pads, then the lower the fluid in the reservoir, if the fluid needs topping up, then it is most likely time to change pads

    Enjoying your channel. Love the CB and considering acquiring one as well. I'm a newer rider and wondering if you've ever spent much time on either the DR650 or KLR? This definitely looks more road-worthy, but want something that is comfortable on both the highway as well as gravel, fire roads, logging roads etc. Keep up the great work!

      @OregonMotorcycle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. I have not ridden those bikes. They were however on the radar when researching the CBX. Like you I needed a more street worthy bike capable of “touring”.

    This tube is connected to air filter box is meant to accumulate oil and water from it, i think all Honda motorbike have it, my NC i clean it once awhile.

    I was just thinking to myself, out of pure interest, which bike would be your next purchase if you had to make that decision tomorrow?
    If budget wasn't a factor I'd probably get the Tiger 800 XCX...

      Good question. Probably go with an Africa Twin just because of all the cool features, but in reality I’d probably go with another CBX!;). I really want 2 of these. One set up for commuting and one for off-road.

      @VinceVideo53 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya, I just checked my manual. The NC is 8000 too. I thought it was 4000. I think the service manager included it in the price he quoted me for the 4000 mile check. Other then the drive chain slider i think you covered everything.

      @@tff847 Leg inseam length is the most critical factor when it comes to considering whether or not you can be comfy on the balls of your feet let alone flatfooting a taller bike ( meaning taller than your dime a dozen cruisers with a seat height of under 30 inches...most are around 24 to 28 inches)
      -== if you've already tried to sit on one and received your curiousity answer..then please ignore this. Cheers -==
      I'm 5 foot 9 with a 32 inch leg inseam length and have owned the 2019 cb500x since December of 2019
      I can flat foot it reasonably comfortably but not barefooted..that's alittle strain to flat foot it
      I'd say if your leg inseam is under 30...don't count on being able to flatfoot it
