- A music video showing a parade of the Austrian Federal Army (Bundesheer)
The parade includes over 4000 soldiers of various service branches, 200 tanks and 100 planes and helicopters. Standard bearers from the signatories of the 1955 Austrian State Treaty (France, Russia, Great Britain and the USA) where invited as special guests for the occasion.
Additionally standard bearers from 20 other European countries participated.

Well our army today only consists of wahmyn and welfare queens. Such a parade would look pathetic.

Austria never lets go of its Military Traditions, unlike Germany.
Rather ironically, the GDR aka Communist Eastern Germany held up prussian traditions

as an austrian american, this got to be one of my favorites, the music and footage go hand in hand. i also like how austria invited other countries as a show of their insane diplomatic relations.

Amazing. What year was this parade? Russian uniforms seem to be a bit dated (ie, from the early to mid 2000’s)
2005. It's the 50 years anniversary of the army.

The guard units at the end are awesome! Great drill and beautiful uniforms. Exemplary!
I just wish they had the old helmets of the guard or would wear mountaineer caps.
Love the fact that they still use the old imperial flag with the double headed eagle on one and blessed mother mary on the other side.
Perfection, the only thing that could make this even more powerful would be if the guys at the end wore a Stahhelm, M18-16 or a M38.

Absolutely love them. I was going to respond with one actually before I realised this. It is the motto of the Theresian Military School where they train Officers which is awesome.

Amazing video as always. Although people think of the old monarchy when talking about the height of Austria's power, it's good to see that even during the 2nd Republic military traditions have not been lost

Troops on horseback in a modern parade. Very cool!
The first ones are the officer cadets from the Theresian Military Academy. Military riding is obligatory in their education.
The second group is the "Tragtierstaffel". They focus on scouting, support and supply in difficult terrain and are actually trained to also fight on horseback.

@@husaria6161 Tragtier = pack animal - Staffel = echelon / squadron. The army has roughly 14.000 professional full time soldiers, over 25.000 members of the Militia, around 20.000 men who currently complete their mandatory military service and then there are aproximately 945.000 men in reserve. So over all more than a million men in case of mobilization.

After the war, we essentially built new and modified mg42's for the armed forces. Germany did the same, since it was just such a good MG for the time
