  • On this fishing trip, I used my kayak to access a creek bank and cast out some large pieces of cut bait in hopes of hooking a big catfish. It was a fun morning of catfishing with some nice blue cats being caught. Big thanks to Catfish Sumo for sponsoring this video. Check out www.catfishsumo.com/justin for some awesome deals.

    you gotta love the back to back bites. where i fish, you can only have two rods out at once, so i take the catfish rod and an ultralight. cut bait on a 7/0 circle hook on the catfish rod and nightcrawler on a #8 hook on the ultralight. i got hooked up on the catfish rod and immediately got a huge hit on the ultralight. i hadto set the catfish rod in a pole holder and loosened the drag so i could get the other rod. i landed a 28 inch 17lb channel catfish on the ultralight and a 22 inch 9 lb blue cat on the catfish rod.

    Man you took me back on the G.I. Joe battle scape memory... I used to do the same thing, and when it was too cold outside I had an older cousin who taught me how to turn on of my mom’s big fur lined coats inside out and lay it over some pillows or a chair and use that as my battle zone. The sleeves made for hella good “cave systems” to run my missions in! 😎😌😋😏
    Great i’d as usual, and thanks for the memories!

  • @theupstateangler
    @theupstateangler 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Man I had all the G.I. Joes... I'm always looking for lures and arrowheads... Sometimes if you've got current you can hook a pool noodle slip float to your line and tighten up the line and hold the rod tip up as high as you can and let that float go out then pop your line and free up a snag.... It gives a different leverage point to the direction your pulling. If that breaks just keep an eye on where it goes and when you leave just go pick it up, sometimes you can get lucky and it'll stay hooked to the line and you can grab it and paddle in the opposite direction and get your rig back that way too....

    Your right about bank fishing it's hours upon hours waiting sometime but people need to see some of that reality too many people dive in head first going catfishing buying high dollar rods reels and expect to catch 20 30 lb fish every cast using store bought bait not learing there water columns to figure out natural bait then the next thing you see on eBay or market place is the nice rod and reel combos for sale all because they don't take into consideration of video editing on video it looks like you caught those fish in 20 30 min when In reality it took all day keep up the good work and you deserve every nice fish you catch friend I know how much time goes into it doing it 35years myself when you think about stress it more how long it takes bank fishing to catch this quality of fish I hate to see impatient people that may or may not be able to afford the gear we use spend their money and think about the patients and time it takes to catch these fish as always love the video keep them coming your doing a great job........
