I usually use a #6 carp hooks on a hair rig. I think that will increase your hook up rate. The hook is almost always solid in the bottom lip. I’m really enjoying the variety that you’re putting out. Congratulations on nearing the 100k mark.
I am so happy to see you do another carp fishing video I think they fight like no other fish in fresh water and are easy to catch but everyone calls them trash fish waste of time they don't know what they are missing
Sweet feed pellets work good too. Usually used for horse feed. They're basically a mini version of those range cubes. Cool to see you targeting some carp!
Now I know I bought a cheaper kayak and all. But I'm trying to figure out if your kayak is that good or if you just have balls of steel. I finally got on some good fish today and I just want to say that was the most terrifying fun I've had in a long time

When you gonna get you a landing net Just? Something you can take with you in them kayaks? A daggone net makes it a lot easier on you landing them Carp. My old man would not go fishing for Carp unless he had a landing net with him and if he didn’t have narry he wouldn’t even go. Anyhow, I’m glad you mix the fishing up every once in a while, breaks up the monotony, so to speak. Oh hell, I didn’t watch the video long enough, you do have a net, my bad! That’s a Carp’s first instinct soon as their hooked is to run for cover, run through a snag or whatever, long as their under cover, for some reason I reckon they think their or feel more protected or something in cover, I don’t know, just a guess or observation I reckon.
Range cubes are a great bait for carp And for an American carp angler like me I would kill to catch a mirror like that in I’ve been almost exclusively carp fishing for 10 years and never caught one
Next time you have no bait, grab some chicken livers from wally world when you grab snacks. In fact, i implore you to add liver when fishing multiple baits and keep track of what bait catches first, biggest and most. P.s. corn is terrible for fish digestive systems.

Ok - last comment i promise! Please figure out how to film yourself shooting carp with your bow!! I know you have to find a way to process it for use as bait so as not to waste it (i know it cannot be eaten due to toxic and nuclear pollution), but we can figure it out. I am thinking processing with cleaver, hatchet, big butcher knife, big serrated bread knife???

My go to for really big carp is just crushed up Wheaties and real vanilla extract. You can mix some strawberry jello in if you want but don't need it. I've tried generic Wheaties and imitation vanilla and it will work but Real Wheaties and real vanilla is the tits.
Great video! With carp keep it simple, one small thing you can do to increase your bites is lightly flavor your hook bait only! Chum your area with unflavored bait and get them feeding and drop a flavored hook bait. Instant bite! Your catfish videos are great too!
One of the best fights with a fish I ever had was with a ten pound carp on ultralight equipment. Wow, took me 30 minutes to land it! You’re right, they’re a lot of fun.
I won't swear to it since the image in my screen is not as clear as it could be, but I think you were backed up to a bunch of poison ivy. Are you sensitive to that stuff? I myself am pretty immune to it and lots of people are so maybe you are too, but I don't push my luck and if you are careful, you won't push your luck either. Apparent immunity to poison ivy is really no more than partial protection and too much exposure is a big risk. Once you get your first reaction, you will be sensitive to it for the rest of your life. Good video though and a neat idea for chumming carp.
On Tellico lake I was bass fishing riprap at a small bridge (only two columns) when a wake board boat came under the bridge with me sitting on one side of the 50ft wide channel and never slowed down and almost put my bassboat on the rocks. He turned around and came back and I yelled at him and told him he was not too smart since he is responsible for his wake and he replied. "if you don't like it the lake is big enough so go fish somewhere else." There were four of them in the boat and I could tell they were drinking. I contacted a friend of mine who is game warden with twra and he asked if I got it on video which I didn't. He said if there is a next time video record the boat with the tn numbers visible and he would pay them a visit. many boaters have no respect for fisherman.
I was catfish fishing in Ish creek in the main channel, anchored up. A massive yacht came through the channel and we tried flashing him with lights to get him to slow down, he waited until he was right next to us then slowed down causing an even bigger wake, almost flipped my Jon boat with 6 to 8 foot wakes, got to be careful out there.
Yeah them big boats have just as much rights but they should be considerate because them wakes could kill someone. Seen it happen. It's bs and should be stopped but it won't cause the water cops only care if you have a fishing license or not. At least that's how my experience has been.

Yes boaters have every right to their place on the water. They are, however, also responsible for their wake. I've noticed that many boaters have no idea how their wake is affected by their speed, boat attitude, etc. Often they would cause less problem by staying on plane than they do by plowing past with their bow in the air and throwing a huge wake. I can't count the number of times I've been forced into the trees to avoid a collision with a boat or been almost swamped by those that plow by.
Next carp trip why not try the ultralight for do-do's and giggles, as you say. Let's see how you can handle an 8 pound fish on 2 pound test line. Anybody else interested in seeing that?
A reservoir here gets over the asphalt parking lot., guys go down there and shovel out shelled corn on the parking lot. It works. Treble hook.. If it's legal. You are turning them loose

I growed up in down town vonore and I loved to carp fish behind the local firehall. Some years I done better on white bread. Take all the crust off then tear the bread in half and roll it on your hook. Done really good. Also done good on corn but had better luck on white sandwich bread the cheapest loaf you can get
The hell with those guys they are everywhere but just a little idea of mine I use 2 fiberglass rods 3 feet long and 2 bungee cords and it is pretty stable but I'm gonna look into the shallow anker
Screaming reel makes the hart beat faster and that's a lot going right nice size fish and carp know every reed branch and snag and swims directly to it, I enjoy your content

Alligator gar are truly an awesome fish to land. My biggest fish landed was an alligator gar over 150 lbs.

I just normally put the pellets straight on my hook when I carp fish. 100% hook up rate but can lose a rod quick if unattended

You ever heard of a brush clip? River Certified uses them a lot in his videos, basically clips onto the brush along the bank to keep you in place.
