Thank you for doing this truck. I've just started out and not really into crawling (yet perhaps!) but i have been watching loads of your videos, especially all your RC for beginners series. Super helpful so cheers from 🇬🇧! 🤙
The carbon model has 6 pieces of carbon! 4 cover the lower arms the other 2 are the centre support beams! You not only get a 540 size motor but a 65amp ESC along with the 6 channel transmitter with gyro adjustable via the transmitter! Also it you get helical steel gears in the difs & larger pinion gears! if that's not worth the extra $50 nothing is 🤔 p.s the weak points are the threaded screws holding the top of the shocks, the centre diff leaks & the rear scuff plate falls off! I've been informed these weaknesses will be addressed 😉pss your shock adjusters are screwed halfway down..................................🙄
Think we can run a bit longer screw through top shock mount using a nut on backside. As far as center Diff what can be used to help stop the leak maybe an alternative gasket or some sort of seal around the closure, not good if the diff fluid leaks out dirt and water are getting in also, lastly maybe thread lock bottom scuff plate screws, thanks for the pointers
The terminator and the buggy from RIAARIO will be my first rc vehicles. Bought some upgrades for the buggy. Bought the carbon fiber truck but want to order the green and black shell and some upgrades for it as well
The only carbon there is on the carbon version is carbon stiffner inserts in the A-arms & carbon centre braces. The motor in the carbon version does not have a higher kv motor, it is lower 2650kv - 3650 size motor that come with 24t pinion + 27t speed pinion. The green bodied aluminum version comes with 3100kv - 2852 size motor & 16t pinion + 19t pinion. Im waiting on my carbon omni Terminater that I ordered to be delivered.
Gonna be waiting a while. I ordered the same. I didn't realize it was a pre-sale and shipments weren't scheduled till March 18th. I paid for expedited shipping and was expecting it this week, lol.
It’s pretty sweet imho . I messed up the first pinion gear so put in the extra one . My bad but it was smooth and silent . I didn’t use the paper method but meshed by feel and sound seems to work better for me to go as tight as possible with battery in and slowly accelerate until the sound is right and tighten down and worked the best . I had it loose one time and that pinion was toast , and spur . Servo has to be loosened form the bottom to get them cf center supports out , sheesh . Other than that it’s been great . Should have left it alone but I’ll get it right
@@friendlydemon7942 oh absolutely it is a hell of a unit and very well designed very fun have had no issues and needs no mods whatsoever just charge and run it. Worth every penny
I appreciate the review I’m just about to order the Carbon one I’ve seen pretty much every video but most are on the Brushed version. I already have the D12 or whatever it’s called it’s the one you had next to this one.
Oh nice. I just got the d12 for my son and ordered the black terminator for myself. In actually had 2 buggy’s but returned one when I saw the terminator on the site. Did you do any upgrades to the d12?
Other weaknesses are: ESC isn't programmable. It brakes way too aggressively so it would be nice to tune them down a bit. And the way the shocks are mounted. Those screws are definitely going to bend or even break.
Nice review! I like what I see, but I think they should have built it around a 1/10 size 3650 motor instead of a 1/16 sized one. It's really cool to see them offer it as a roller, but like you said, the options in this motor size are pretty limited. When Rlaarlo hit the market with that mini Maxx monster truck, I thought they were going to be just another Banggood/Amazon type vehicle. But their recent releases show that there really is a passion behind their cars.
NICE REVIEW! I'm new to RC trucks (I fly RC planes) and I'm considering a few 3S trucks. I want to get the best bang for my buck but I don't mind spending a little more if the value is there. I've really been looking at the RIAARIO Omni Terminator but I also like ARRMA Granite, ARRMA Big Rock and Rival MT10. What is your sugestion in the 3S truck class?
I have a trx6 and scx6 but much prefer bashers. I wish they'd ship these already. I didn't realize it was a pre sale and was expecting delivery to all us regular folk this week. I much prefer an Arrma launch. Announce one week and deliver the next. Also the carbon version has a gyro and better transmitter.
@@RCReviewChannel the website says March 18th will be the first deliveries. You have to click the shipping info link for that. It didn't mention anywhere along the ordering process that it'd be a month before deliveries started. It even offered expedited shipping for $10 extra (which I paid thinking it guaranteed I'd get it this week). My fault. I'm just used to Arrma. They announce and don't sell until it's ready to ship.
It’s not really about the carbon fiber, it’s the other upgrades that come right out the box. The transmitter alone is worth it for the extra 50$. But then you have the gears, receiver, telemetry, bigger motor, bigger esc,and on and on. Like I said for an extra 50 bucks it’s a no-brainer.
After an extremely long wait I just received my carbon version I also got the aluminum anodized 17 mm wheel hubs as well I’m wondering what wheels to put on it I see pictures of it with the 17mm hubs with Rlaarlo wheels on it so apparently they have wheels that fit but I checked the website & none of the wheels say 17mm so I’m not sure if I’ll buy an aftermarket wheelset I may just try the wheels off my Rustler.
@@Casitascrawlersit’s an adapter to 17 mm. People were saying the wheels pop off easy but even with the adapters you still need to put thread lock on the threads (from what I’ve researched).
It can’t,.well not set (in terms of literally placing it on top) but doesn’t fit, I don’t own the am-d12 but if it’s anything like the Wltoys model then only the front end of the truck lifts/opens via body clip where as the Omni terminator has a 4 body clip system holding it down. Definitely could probably Frankenstein the fit since both vehicles are 1:12 scale
The carbon version comes with cnc chrome steel spiral cut input diff gears & chrome steel spur gear. The aluminum version comes with alloy metal straight cut input gears & alloy spur gear. Hexes are 12mm.
When mine arrives I'm just going to stack two 2200 batteries on top of each other and run them in parallel, got some zeee power 120C flight batteries from a plane, so 3S 4400mAH 120c ought to be plenty of power and run time. Plus I will put them at the back and the esc in the front to address the weight balance issue.
They really are close. I would say this has better value, especially with the free Lipo battery. This is a little space, constrained, and not as easy to upgrade as the mt10
At around 4:10 you mention the word "weight". Do you happen to have the chance to actually put the truck on a scale and let us know the weight? In my eyes, that's always a better indication of size than all the individual sizes such as length etc.
Looks like XT60 in the video but on the website it shows a Deans connector. So not sure now. Maybe this version has XT60 and the carbon fiber has Deans?
The Mid diff is redundant. It is only effective in crawlers, not offroads. Similar for carbon fiber chassis, useless on offroads, but useful on on-roads - lighter but just a little bit less strong than metal.
Both. I don't know anyone who has a Gorgon and doesn't love it. Get the blue Gorgon without the nimh battery and charger for $139 and use that extra money for a decent brushless combo. I have a bunch of 4s, 6s, and 8s Arrma and Traxxas bashers and play with the Gorgon as much or more than any of them.
They make it tough for big jumps and the average person will probably beat the machine. Myself I dont beat my gear.. I push it but no beating. Money is tight.
You know what happened... a Chinese company was totally going to call it the "Predator"... and they even etched the Predator on the bottom of the truck. But then someone with a little more knowledge of English... at the last minute explained that the word has a double meaning in our culture. So they wisely renamed it the "Terminator".
I was just comparing all the name brands myself. ARRMA 1/10 Granite 4X4 V3 3S BLX is on sale for $329.99 omg like who pays for that? The rlarrlo omni terminator non carbon edition is better than that!
