There's always someone spinning something into a negative. DISCLAIMER: this is a hypothetical video. Something different and fun to talk about. I can't afford any of this stuff and don't plan to get them anytime soon. As you know I was laid off at the end of January and I JUST started a new job this week. I sold off 90% of my collection and have stated in several videos for months when I get a new job I will start to build back my collection, slowly, AFTER I'm able to get back on my feet. I'm not asking for handouts or free shit. Haven't ever.

Behemoth is my absolute favourite right now. I love that they have done some blackened metal and death metal. I always love how the drums and the guitar tracks go together so perfectly. Also pleased to discover this channel.

Dissection after more than two decades of listening to thousands of metal bands became maybe my favorite band ever.Storm of the lights bane somehow gets overlooked by metal listeners and I do not understand why.Jon was a genius of a musician and my theory is that people will truly appreciate this album and band maybe in 50 years from now.
I bought the Original 1st press Dissection cd on Nuclear blast in 1996, then got the reissue double cd on The end records with the bonus tracks and alternate album mix, Amazing album and band. Would love to have the vinyl as well, but yes definitely out of my range.
I had a mint first press of that Dissection LP years ago only listened to it a few times. I never really got into it so I gave it to a mate for his birthday probably 8- 10 years ago. Turns out he didn't like it either and sold it on discogs straight away for $200 I think it was. In hindsight I should've held onto to it.
For me trying hard isnt the way to go, liking few songs from some albums and feeling excitement for the other ones later and ending maybe understanding and liking em is the way
If you enjoy atmospheric black metal, id strongly recommend the band Summoning. From Austria. I currently own the albums Dol Guldur and Stronghold. Those are 2 excellent starting points. Oathbound is another great album. Their whole discography is great overall, to me. The first album had a more different/raw sound.

Simply the black metal albums I don’t have I’d most like to add. Weakling is insanely expensive, the rest are either fairly expensive or more manageable on Discogs.

The Elitists demand that it sounds like AM radio recorded in mono via a tin can on a string.

I’m the opposite, was into death metal for years, but as I’ve gotten older I’m more into black metal. Really into the latest Saidan (USBM) right now.
I was expecing to see Mayhem, Burzum, Immortal and Emperor in here but any list is good if it has Bathory in it
Wasn’t it The End who had the license last for Storm of the Lights Bane? Can’t even remember if they’re even active anymore as a label.
That label was awesome back in the days. I recall getting their "Storm of the Lights Bane" re-issue and one Voivod album among other things before (as usually) they got bought by Universal and f'ed everything up.

Just being open enough to listen to black metal means that you have a brain that is wired differently and always searching. Nothing wrong with basic black.Your taste will ripple out steadily. Also while having original copies of anything is cool,any copy is good.Try Urfaust. Not a really old band but very adventurous.
