TH is the best. Well rounded reviews. With such passion and charisma it's no wonder why they're absolutely the premier car review channel on YT. I've been a fanboy for longtime and its great to see this conversation take place.

A family friend let me drive his standard M2 DCT before it was sold off, even when it’s my first time with that car and I could already drive it at seven tenths in MDM mode. I have not driven any front engined car made in the last 10 years that requires this much effort yet is so rewarding at the same time. Best part is it never feels overly scary even when the tail starts to kick out a bit. I really fell for the M2. And there was some actual feedback coming through the wheel too.

I’ve had my OG M2 since February of 2024 and have put nearly 25k miles on so far. It’s been a blast. I really wanted the M2 Comp but I got a really good deal on my OG. M2 Comps with no accidents and low miles we’re selling for $12-17k more than the OG and I just didn’t think the difference was worth that much

Mainly due to the noise and "M tax " on engine parts. Furthermore, as a young adult, ive seen all my peers fixated on numbers (0-60, 60-130) instead of the character of the car. My current daily is a 2006 Honda Accord Euro r, and I smile ear to ear driving that car. 😂

Love my OG M2 for dual duty usage. At an instructor pace, you can hammer it all day with minimal modification. There are definite benefits to the OG over the comp. It’s the perfect mid-level track car that can be daily driven and have kids in the back!

It is the same as far as part numbers but the Competition has a strut brace where OG does not. It is hard to explain how it drives differently, it's either weight or they revised some of the unchanged part numbers during the LCI.

I have a M235i 6spd Stage 2 Tune, one thing i hate the most is the power band. Either Stock or tuned, it has too much down low torque and no top end. It dies at 6000 rpm and i have 1200 rpm left, wish it was more linear. Ive spun out a couple times cuz of it 😅

If you have an F87 get the MP coilovers and adjust them to softer settings. He’s right the standard suspension is really awful. It totally transforms the car.

@ The comp has same suspension, so same issue. It’s a bit faster but the engine is prone to more potential issues. Mines gone now replaced by a Cayman 718 S, but the M2 was a good driving tool when the standard suspension is upgraded.

I have öhlins r&t with stock mounts, perfect for the road but not enough camber for the track with the stock hubs. So I upgraded to the camber correction hubs from BMW, now -2.5°C camber up front. I had Millway street top mounts before but found them still to produce to much NVH.

Some people had their crankshaft crack during drilling for keyed hub. But the risk (however small) on crankshaft cracking on expensive M2 CS is unacceptable.
