I will say, due to the adriatic nature of southern german sea access, I doubt they would posses much colonies outside of north africa or the horn of africa
These videos are great, the only recommendation is to talk slower to give yourself more time to think. Try to talk in the nonchalant tone that the alternative history dude does that has that Bulgarian accent. Keep it up man!
I'd say the scramble for africa goes the same as in our timeline cuz remember austria is still (although less than in our timeline) kinda weak and maybe they don't have the naval power to maintain their colonies. And for prussia, i still think they're strong enough to hold colonies, although since the seperation of the south germans happened before 1884 (the treaty for the scramble for africa) maybe the greater powers wouldn't let north germany get as much colonies as in our timeline(so like 1-2 less colonies) Also idk if (1st scenario) britain would let greece get constantinople, probably doing an international zone or annexing it directly
Not a criticism or anything, but i feel like this scenario is almost exactly similar to possible history's "what if the dutch unified germany?", i did like the editing though👍
Not really but also I'm going to tell you somthing alternative history is egecated guessing if the senerio has similar situation those broad guess might aline but even so there's still large differences in the videos
In my opinion. The only way south germany could win is if britain was on their side. Not to say britain would most likely be on their side by default. Yes napoleon the third was an unpredictable guy, but britain and france fought against russia before. To britain. This would be their only chance to defeat the threat russia was preparing to be. But yeah. Just a tiny nitpick. Great video! :3
Weird thing about this hesse is technically apart of both confederations as in our timeline after the austro-prussian war, parts of hesse had to join the north confederation but the souther part was not, so i dont know how this all works if hesse is in both
Correction for the North German win scenario, Britain would NEVER take continental European land, as they would not be able to properly defend it also they didn't had any interest in it, also not to mention in any war Britain might get into it's obvious France would join in to retake their lost land. Edit: What a mess of a scenario, honestly, why would the South emphazise that the North wanted to opress them? That's stupid asf, also you're telling me South Germany unites with Austria and that wouldn't cause a war? After all Austria is still the same backwards collection of kingdoms, North Germany would just destroy them again. The South would do nothing to help Austria's incompetence, also in our timeline Prussia made a lot of concessions to Bavaria, the most important out of the southern states, The German Empire was a federal entity so they would retain a lot of autonomy, joining a backwards collection of lands with nothing in common doesn't seem so appealing to a modern and really industrialized nation in my opinion, sorry I just don't see any good reason to join with Austria rather than Prussia, the similarities with Vienna are good and all but this ignores the state of both nations (also Prussia had already made a deal with the South that if any nation (France) attacked them they would join the war and possibly unite), they had no future as independent. Alliances that are impossible, you're telling me RUSSIA AND AUSTRIA would ALLY? That's straight up fantasy, Germany has nothing Russia needs or wants, the spoils are just bad for Russia, more people that don't want to be a part of your empire. I don't see this being a realistic scenario at all
Both treaties dont make sense ngl. Why would germany give south tyrol to italy? Including the german speaking area. And why would russia get almost all of prussia?
1. Italy historically wanted South Tyrol from Austria so it would (somewhat) make sense 2 give it 2 them 2. Russia was a pretty expansionist power for it’s time so giving them Polish territories up 2 the Oder river would please the Russians (unrealistically ofc)
@AwwsomeHistoryYT Germany would have rejected the request of giving ALL of south tyrol to italy. The southern part? Maybe. But not the majority german area.
You sometimes included the Grand Duchy of Hesse and by Rhein (Hesse-Darmstadt) as part of the south, sometimes as part of the north. As a Hessian I have questions: Wich one is it?In the real timeline only the Province of Upper Hess's join the Confederation. Would it be a reversal, where Rhenish Hesse and Strakenburg join the South? And what would that mean for the wartime? Upper Hess joining Hesse-Nassau? Becoming an "independent" member of the northern confederation? Becoming a Persian province? Or ... Hesse joining nither side, dropping out of both confederations and becoming a neutral state?
why would Britian join the north german - russian side? The british would favour the weaker side in the name of the balance of power so why would they join the side that have more industry and a larger population
Bc, (long-term), they would NEVER work with the Bonapartist regime of France and the juggernaut of S. Germany And they would most likely favor the underdogs of N. Germany and Italy
brother please take a breath 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I did take a breath, the breaths were just cut out of the video😭🙏🙏
K dude i will hear you calm down
Great video! One suggestion is to slow down how fast your talking.
Thx 4 the suggestion
I’m glad u enjoyed my alternate history scenario😁
And I’ll try to talk slower in my Christmas special
I mean i think the talking speed is perfect, so maybe it should be a vote to see what should be the case
The civil war reference is crazy.
But this was a very interesting video. You got a new sub now :D
Keep up the good work mate
I guess this alternative scenario would be more feasible if Austria won war with Prussia straight away.
finalmente... a Lenda Retornou de sua Hibernação para nos Abençoar com mais videos de Geografia e História..
Thx

Now thinking about it, the northern part will be apart of North Germany while the southern part would be apart of South Germany
@@AwwsomeHistoryYT but how would that work the hesse leader has 2 different obligations as a member of north germany and a member of south germany
@theman8421 maybe the Hessian state spilts up? Idk bro😭
