I think this Villanova team was an all time team for the modern era of college basketball. So talented across the board. Michigan was a good team and once Villanova imposed their will, it was over!!
@@joehill1224honestly , I don’t know. I’ve never witnessed a more mature and well coached team than this Villanova team. Look how many players made the NBA and are elite players
That block at 6:40 is one of the best blocks ive ever seen! That got me hyped! Two handed block too hand straight up that was textbook. Divencenzo balled out all game long. Nova deserved it and Michigan showed that they were outmatched. THis was the first team Michigan played above a 5 seed all tourney long.
Took 14 minutes for Nova to get the lead. Complete domination after that and they slaughtered the whole tournament. Just proves coaching, discipline, defense, and teamwork will forever beat talent alone. Congrats to Michigan on a great season but this wasn't even close down the stretch. Jay just solidified himself and the program as top 2-3 in the nation. Go Nova, Vs up.
Congrats to Villanova from a KU fan. Nova was clearly the best team. They had their way with everyone in the tournament. I can’t remember the last time I saw a team this good offensively.
Sounds crazy to say, but Jay Wright and Villanova NEEDED this second national title to validate their ridiculous run of success over the past 5 years - a 165-21 record is incredible, but would not receive the recognition it deserves unless the postseason success was there to go along with it. Now that it is, they can take their deserved place in history.
They didn't receive the recognition because people claim they follow an easy schedule and have benefited from teams leaving the big east. Even though those same people don't realize you still have to win in the big tournaments and play with the best of them and they not only just won, but KILLED the opponents. And not just this year but when they won in '16, too except for the elite 8 and final against UNC.. Heck, Nova won the big 12 this year! Lol I remember idiots saying Nova would lose because they had no chance against "the tough big 12". Killed all their top teams by double digits.
I was rooting for Kansas in the Final Four, but wow, Villanova was just in another gear in this tournament. Once they got going, there was no stopping them. A fun team to watch, and once they get rolling, it is like an avalanche. Congrats to them and their fans, and they seem like a team that works so hard to achieve what they are aiming for, which is truly a reflection of their coach.
They won all their games in this years Dance by double digits. I don’t think North Carolina even did that in 2009. Except when they blew doors off Michigan State in Detroit.
This Nova team might be one of the best squads to ever play the college game. Total domination all season long and they clinically destroyed everybody in the tournament.
Donte was on the team when Nova won in 2016 my man, he just broke his foot in his 8th game and was given a medical redshirt. Technically he just finished his redshirt sophomore year.
That Davincino might spelled it wrong he deserve invite to NBA draft cause he performing bright lights big stage bridges and rockman was balling too but mvp clearly shooting NBA range 3s and athlete buddy from Nova
Honestly no one can make an excuse for why Michigan lost or still say that Villanova won by luck. It’s obvious they had complete dominance in playmaking, offense, defense, everything
DiVincenzo was a one-man wrecking crew, he completely took over the game and nobody on Michigan's side could contain him. When you have it, you have it and he had it all night long.
Thats so crazy that a kid i used to go to school with and played sports with plays for michigan and scored at the end of the game with like 10 sec left
Looking back at it now, the Nova Squad had promising NBA players on their roster and them playing in Nova's fast pace and space system and switch heavy defense really helped their development when they transitioned to the league. Brunson, Paschall, Bridges, DiVincenzo, and Spellman.
So did Michigan Villanova just went on a frenzy. The game was close until a little into the second half. Dante was the best player in this game and he’s not the most promising NBA player.
@@my1rule Super understandable. I was kinda annoyed with the hot takes after that night that hated on him and said he won't succeed in the league because he will be another white player who will flame out. But he's obviously athletic, has solid and fluid body control, and a really nice looking jumper. That is definitely translatable to the league.
I'm proud of my team, we started out strong and confident, but Nova is a solid all around opponent. Great season and wish we pulled it off, but good game!
where the f did this divincenzo dude come from? He was straight saucing them boys up. This dude looked nba ready except for his fr game. Got them bunnies.
I'm from Philly so far a Villanova national Championship and the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Champions back to being the city of Champions !!! So go Flyers ... I love.my city best fans in the world !!!!!!!
As a michigan fan if 2 people did not exist michigan basketball would've been champions in 2013 and 2018. Literally each time michigan was in a championship game one guy beat us
While his shot is not there on par with JJ Reddick's shot yet (don't forget how lethal JJ was in college), what separates Divincenzo is his ability to drive and attack the basket.
I think this Villanova team was an all time team for the modern era of college basketball. So talented across the board. Michigan was a good team and once Villanova imposed their will, it was over!!
Better than the team that won before?

Same
When Villanova is on, and that has been most of the time this year, they make basketball look like art. Smooth and graceful.
Divincenzo was in the zone, which is the key to Villanova’s easy victory. There is not much one can do about it when a player shoots like that.
Soj. H This is exactly what happened when Virginia played UMBC, what where they gonna do about lyles he was just too good.
DD was everywhere on that floor last night.
6:44 is probably one of the most athletic plays I’ve ever seen. He got up so high for a guard players and didn’t bend back from the force wow
I’d argue this team was top 5 all time. They played so well together.
UConn from this past year vs this Villanova team would’ve been a good game

Michigan had Wagner and Robinson though

Villanova has become one of the most prominent basketball colleges over the last decade... They’re always there at the end of the season
As a Villanova grad, one son that went, and daughter there now, I couldn’t be more proud. Thanks to all for a great season.
_And just like that the Villanova 4 are reunited!_
michigan fans have nothing to be ashamed of - villanova was just too good #BIGEAST

Nova probably has better talent than Michigan.
Michigan actually has a pretty good coach too...Villanova was just better tonight.
Lol Villinova had way more talent than Michigan, kind of a misinformed comment
having a dude drop 31 off the bench doesn't hurt, either.......especially when the ap player of the yr has an off night.
