  • Thunder Valley has a new track layout for the 2022 AMA Pro Motocross National this week in Lakewood, CO. Here's a sneak peek of the track design with its new winding and slower infield section. It could enhance viewing for the fans or may just be a little too slow and silly.

    I love seeing Thunder Valley become a big time national track again! I worked at the track one season in the early 90s when it was run by the City of Lakewood. The city just did not have the experience and the proper funds allocated to run it properly! It was the True definition of BLUE GROOVE!! I stopped racing in 97 but truly love the sport and all that it did for me! I also would like to thank David Clabaugh for all the improvements his team have done with the entire facility over the years, I feel like a kid again when ever I see that Track!

      If they follow each other as taught in school today, it will be one lined.

      Well, the faster 4-stroke turned most national tracks into dirt road racing courses with jumps.

    that shot gives a good perspective on the size of the track. Having been too a handful of nationals and doing some local racing myself I know that video/Pictures does no justice for the size and scale of the spectacle that is Pro Motocross ........... thanks for the Video 👍

    It’s amazing how stories get exaggerated. Ryan Dungey didn’t break his back or neck, he cracked a vertebrae in his neck in the crash. He got up in 19th and raced forward to 4th. He knew he injured his neck but had no idea it was cracked. He took the remaining part of the season off as a precaution and because it freaked him out a bit. ...I think he saw the writing on the wall and wasn’t willing to push to the level of Roczen and Tomac so he took the opportunity to check out.

      Ryan himself is the one who said the doctor thought he was close to being paralyzed and that it was a major influence in his decision to retire. th-cam.com/video/PbrZ_Imy94g/w-d-xo.html But, yeah, saying he broke his neck or back may be too vague and make it sound worse than it was.

    Yeah man, that winding stuff is a bit much. Those are sharp and small turns it looks like, what in the world are the lappers going to do in that tight of a section to avoid cleaning out anyone in the top 10 that's ripping

      @@tomsuntv " Will be interesting to see how it goes." That is the right perspective. This sport is getting too fast. With the speeds down, let see if we get some safe T-bones and the such. This is just an experiment that FIM is allowing them to do. Let the track owners enjoy their freedom OK? Let them build something that the racers have to figure out,---so we can see who has the most talent. Throw away the cookie cutter please.

    I really feel like we have the worst national as well as supercross track for the Colorado circuit we need to step it up

    • @tomsuntv
      @tomsuntv  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, Colorado motocross, in general, could really use a boost in regard to tracks. It would be a game changer if we got 3 new tracks within 1hr of Denver that are all much better than what we currently have.

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, when 80hp electric bikes are raced, you can pave the course and make it as fast as you want.
      I like this track. Maybe it will separate the talent so it does not turn into a fast parade with 10 laps left.

    • @bartholomew1211
      @bartholomew1211 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Worst national in what regards?

  • @EarthSurferUSA
    @EarthSurferUSA 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like the "winding". Tracks are getting too fast and too one dimensional. Would be nice to see a hard pack track again, and some old Southwick when it was sand too.
    Would be nice to deport the FIM so we can make the tracks the way we want.
