Hello my friend, it is Philippe Bouchard here and I am a Blind Person that is learning Reaper right now with a Screan Reader on Windows and all thanks to these Keyboard Short Cuts!!! I am having this exact problem right now with the track cutting out every time, but with this video, I think that I am more well informed right now and Some Very Huge Thousand Thanks For All That nd my friend!!!!!!!! Thanks A lot!!!! Philippe Bouchard!!!! (From: Clair New-Brunswick Canada)!!!!!! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Reaper is the best program ever! Been using since 2014. Its so cool to see the community on the rise . People use to be like what??? Now we got whole TH-cam holes and lore . Awesome man .
I spent a few hours with this last night. Everything I tested was spot on, but when I pressed play, no sound at all. Finally, I gave up and simply decided to restart my computer. Of course, that did the trick- only it was too late to do any more recording. 🙄
Currently getting a feedback from the meter when i play the guitar, but not hearing anything. I follows everything in this video and even checked my computer settings. I only have my interface plugged in.
@@decaliusarchivebro same. It says its playing but can't hear anything in my second track. I can only play and hear stuff in my first track. Any tips?
helpful, Thank you. I have a reoccurring issue with my set up using a scarlet 18i8 4 input. GTR when monitoring always has the dry output with the wet and I cannot sort why. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks
All my PC outputs are fine ( I am listening to your sound), all of the Reaper settings are assigned as per your video. My microphone shows input in Windows sound settings, but nothing in Reaper. My Korg Liano DOES show input in Reaper, and will record. I just cannot get any sound on playback, it's really frustrating. I installed Audacity, everything worked straight away!. Thanks for your tips, but I still can't solve my issue. I paid for Reaper too before trying it out properly, so I would really like to get it working. I've even tried configuring all of the other Output options, like WASUPI, Direstsound, and Waveout.
Jack, I have just gotten a new computer (a powerful HP Pavilion laptop). My interface is a little Phenyx Pro (it shows as “USB Audio Codec” I am using ASIO 2.16). Here’s the problem: I was trying to open a new project in Reaper: 1. I opened Track 2 and plugged in my guitar to my interface. 2. I armed Track 2 to record Track 2 will not record my guitar. The recording function IS working but there is no input. Track 2 reads "Not Connected". I take this to mean that the Reaper software is not reading the input from the guitar. My interface appears on the output list but not in the input list. The interface is not on my device list. Any suggestions? TomL
@@TheHomeMusicMakerhey man i seriously need help, i can’t get sound on ANY daw, not reaper or cubase, ive done nearly everything there’s no thing more i can do
I have a weird issue where a plugin is unticked (disabled) on a vocal track, but if i go to remove said plugin from the track, the vocal won't playback anymore. The vocal media item is still on the timeline but no audio happens.
Hi I've got an issue where I have to keep reconfirming the audio preferences (just "OK" every time) and then it works fine until the sound goes again (erratic time intercals). Also occasionally get a sound glitch or two before it happens. It's a new laptop windows 11 and never had the problem with Windows 10 and an older laptop.
Hey Andy. Based on your description, here are a few things you could try to troubleshoot the issue. Check for driver updates for your audio interface and install the latest drivers. Manufacturers often release updates to improve compatibility with new operating systems. Adjust the audio buffer settings in REAPER's Preferences > Audio > Device. Try increasing the audio buffer size if you are getting sound glitches. This reduces load on the CPU. (We do have a video on this.) Disable power management for your audio interface device in Windows Sound settings. This prevents the device from turning off to save power. Try different audio drivers in REAPER like ASIO, WASAPI, or DirectSound to see if one works better than others. Make sure you are running the latest version of REAPER and check their website/forums for any known compatibility issues with Windows 11. Try increasing CPU performance in REAPER's Preferences > Audio > Device, by adjusting the number of cores, priority, etc. Let me know if any of those suggestions help resolve the problems you are seeing. Cheers!
Hi thanks for the feedback. All drivers are up to date. I can't see how to increase the CPU performance for the device there doesn't seem to be an option. Will look at the power management setting and feedback... cheers
So, I've got two tracks that have the same plugin enabled on them, and every time I try to player them both at the same time tracks cut all audio from both. Tracks without the plugin still work, and when I re-open reaper they work for a few seconds before buffering the whole program and cutting the plugin again. Seems to work with only one version, and the CPU/ RAM seem to be unaffected, in fact other more intensive tracks can be played at the same time without this issue occurring. Can anyone help? edit, it's a MIDI track, and it does get to 0.90%-odd in a section.
i just want to add drums via vts to stuff i already recorded prior i get "Error initializing ASIO buffers" cant figure it out i cant even hear the drums to record it.
Hi! I'm actually trying to use WASAPI audio system. It was working fine like that, I use REAPER to edit podcasts, so I don't really need to record anything in that part. Suddently after some REAPER updates the WASAPI or any other onboard audio device show as "audio device closed". Now the only way REAPER works is when i plug in my external audio device. Already tried to reinstall all the drivers (onboard and external interface) but still does not work. Any ideia what could cause that?
Hey man. Here are some possible reasons. A recent REAPER update may have caused a conflict with your onboard audio drivers. Try rolling back to a previous version of REAPER to see if that fixes the problem. Your onboard audio drivers may be outdated or corrupt. Try reinstalling the latest drivers from your motherboard manufacturer's website. Your onboard audio device may not be compatible with WASAPI. Check your device's documentation to see if it is specifically listed as being compatible with WASAPI. If you have tried all of the above and you are still having problems, you can try the following: Disable any other audio applications that are running in the background. Some audio applications, such as Skype or Discord, can interfere with REAPER's use of WASAPI. Try using a different audio output device, such as your external audio interface. If your external audio interface works with WASAPI, then the problem is likely with your onboard audio device. I hope that helps.
Yep, for some reason REAPER chooses channel 1 for my guitar input even though it's channel 2. I wish I could make channel 2 the default. But thanks a bunch for the fix.
So I have this issue where it shows the sound in master but i forgot I had Reaper open while i was trying to download some vsts and no sound is playing since and I have no idea what to do. Do you have any tips?
Hello, I'm fairly new to Reaper. I started running it on a PC and everything ran great. Now, I run it to a Mac and even upgraded to Reaper V7.03 and have problems getting signal for my analog inputs (level meter does not move and recorded audio is silent/empty). Could anybody point me in the right direction? I did some troubleshooting as follows: - cable connections are good - correct audio device is selected in preferences/audio/device - the track is armed - the correct input is selected - On my audio interface loop-back mixer, I can see the signal meter moving for both inputs - Volume levels are high enough on the inputs to capture signal Am I missing anything? Please help! Thanks!
Hello mr. Can you advice? I connected my v-drums to PC and set up the midi channels, can see input signal, but the VST pluggin is not doing any sound. Can you help? I try to use MT Power Drumkit 2 but I am new in this and midi. Thanks.
Good video but didn't help me as I had already been through all of these steps. It's bizarre, I can record and monitor the recording as I play it, but playback has no sound at all. Most odd. And it was all working yesterday!
Found it. The ASIO driver window has direct controls for the output pairs - the main was muted. Behringer UMC404HD, latest driver version. Muted the main outs on install. One has to ask why it would do that.
What is an "audio system" how am I supposed to know which one I have? My devices show up on DirectSound, WASAPI, and WaveOut but none of them work even though I'm literally using them on the same computer on every other program just fine bleh
Whilst these tips are indeed useful for trouble shooting, there is one particular universal setting that will stop you getting any sound into your daw no matter what settings you do on reaper, and you did not mention it.
