Actor Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation in connection with Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed, in which she spoke out about being the victim of domestic violence. Yup, my jaw was dropping each time I heard him pull something from the op-ed even though he said the op-ed wasn’t even about him. How nuts.
Depp's witness today (day 111) that is affiliated with the ACLU realy drove that point home. .
His testimony and emails entered into evidence proved not only was the op-ed about Amber, but they kept having to revise it to avoid violating the NDA signed when they divorced .
Even after those revisions iys still obvious to a reasonable person that publication was about Depp.

Defamation has always acted as a limit on both the freedom of speech as well as the freedom of the press. There is no such thing as a false opinion or idea - however, there can be a false fact, and these are NOT protected under the First Amendment.

@@itsKalinko If you’re referring to when they were asking if his friend thought he was “beholden” to Johnny for allowing him to live rent-free, that actually benefited Johnny’s case I think because it shone a light on his friend’s attitude regarding whether he was taking the stand to defend Johnny because he thought he owed him or he was taking the stand as a friend who truly cares about the truth and how it affected his friend to have been accused of such a lie. He showed the latter.

amber is the one who recorded without his permission and submitted the clips of the most “intimate parts of their marriage” while johnny asked for PERMISSION from amber to record their conversations and the other evidence on her is eye witness and security footage. how is he the one exposing the marriage and turning it into a soap opera?

Amber dosent even emotionally react to her attorneys comments. When he talks about her letter abd the camera angles her there’s no sign of distress in her facial reaction and her gestures. Seems like she just wants to get over the case to escape getting incarcerated for the claims she made against Depp. On the other hand, Johnny Depp can be seen to lower his head, shove through his hair and still listens to what her defense team has to say. He does not have any stern expression in his face and seems ver calm about the whole matter. Lastly, if there were any problems in their relationship why wouldn’t she speak up about it right away but only when Depp leaves her. She is playing a victim mentality.

He’s undoubtedly intelligent & has had a successful law career. But he certainly didn’t do his client any favors in this trial. His cross examination of many witnesses was rude, condescending, aggressive and definitely didn’t make his client any more likable.

It's been up for an hour now and still only has 2.2k views and 43 likes.. a lot of people just aren't interested in "celebrity drama". People don't even watch the Oscar's anymore, most people heard about the will smith slap after it happened, they weren't watching the Oscar's when it happened. I can understand the disinterest, watching rich, spoiled, out of touch celebrities, argue and bicker can seem unimportant.
